pick a muzzle flash image from google, add a local particle system to the front of your gun. Use downloaded image as material in the renderer part of said particle system. Peach-chan if you need proper transparent shaders, try the vertex lit blended under particles. Multiply and additive work as well. I found the mobile version of the shaders work well to not go invisible in certain lighting

Pull them out of source games. The Gmod and L4D community had a hard one for 2hu back in the day so they made a ton of models. You Just have to hunt and get to work on moving them into unity.

Try the shape key first; I messed with the bounding box on a model that had a few fucked up shapekeys, and it was affected by things like the avatar testing's flashlights no matter where I was.
Go back into blender and try each shape key to see if one (or a few) act strange.
Otherwise, the bounds box is on your "Body" part of your avatar in Unity, under the skinned mesh renderer.

After much cursing at unity and an irresponsible amount of colliers I finally got my cape working

Unity only renders one side of polygons, blender renders both sides.
