I'm making quick things just using the animator in Unity, with visemes and stuff. I'll make one, with a copied and pasted version of my avatar so it doesn't break my actual avatar, then delete the copied one. After that, I'll just click on my animation override, and drag the .anim file I just made, into one of the slots. Fingergun doesn't seem to work for me however. Ingame I'll hold Shift, and press from F1 - F8, and it'll toggle the override.

If you have fucked up legs on your CM3D2 model, try to mess with these bones. Try copying the bone structure off of a model that works if you have one. For the one I worked on, moving them closer inward and making sure the angle wasn't off fixed the bigger problems.
The highlighted ones are the ones you should mess with to fix the new problem,
roomba. Try lowering them just a bit and putting them forward to align them better with the spine. Don't change the X value at all.

It's a good thing to learn. The basic idea is "When this bone moves, this part of the mesh moves 0-100% with it". You can fix a lot of models by learning to weight paint, and keep things from going through other parts of the mesh with it. Leg painting should be especially easy with shorts since you don't have to worry about dynamic bones and whatnot messing with your weighting.

No. All you can really do is move your legs unprecisely below knee height. The hip tracking doesn't really work. Sitting will probably break the skeleton and lying definitely will. Your avatar will not work properly with full tracking and you'll need to edit it, or develop a work around like crouching when you enter the T-pose.

That's okay really. It'd help if they actually moved around a bit more. The first few I went to had quite a bit of world hopping which helps keeps things interesting and gives you something to talk about. Now it just seems like they just idle for hours on a few popular maps. Which makes it harder to jump in with conversation if they've already been talking for a while. It feels boring especially even though there are tons of new worlds being added all the time.

I know what is wrong. I've been selectively mute for my entire life so I have no idea how to communicate outside of necessity. Cause that doesn't hold up in a multiplayer game man. The fun here comes from playing with others, and this is a chat game so the "objective" if anything is to talk and socialize. I have a very hard time finding sympathy or understanding for mutes when this seems like such an odd game for them to play if they don't intend on talking. It strikes me as either leech behavior, or they want to talk but there's a problem they can't address and if that's the case they need to address it so we can all benefit from talking together.

My pony tail was somewhat similar, I was able to merge down a lot of the bones.
I need to work harder at finding some values that work well for it though. If I make it too flexible it has a lot of clipping issues so I leave it fairly stiff.
When I put gravity on it, it started clipping through my butt.

I should work some more on it to see if i can make it look better, maybe I'll do that now.
