Real frustration finding ones that I liked. Scouring MMD models made me realize that I apparently have a very small interest in anime/manga. So the amount of avatars that I thought were cute and had good quality but never got into their respectful series was pretty high. With that said VRChat did help me chip away at my backlog that I had for years for some avatar's series though. I wanted to stick with a previous avatar that I was using for most of February but the fact that it was just too scuffed and having people point out the flaws on it kinda got to me I suppose.

I ended up with my current avatar since I realized while editing it's textures that I could basically remake one of my original characters that I frequently use as a player character in other games really easily and I always liked how the base model just really looked even if it's a generic TDA Miku. I've had a preset of him for a while in CM3D2, but I don't like how one of my previous models came out and this model is plain cuter even if it is fairly generic being a modified Miku and all. I've only been using the avatar for like 2 weeks though so there's always a chance I'll change to something else, but I doubt i will since I'm fond of the character.

The amount of time I spent editing and working on it. I was playing the same avatar and making a million different versions of it for like 2 months before I realized I don't really even like the character from the "anime" that much (or the "anime" in general) but I had invested so much time into it that I just kept using it. An atlas does all of whatever mesh you have selected. So, merge everything you need as transparency to one mesh and everything you want as opaque to another mesh and atlas separately.

I used my DK2 for a bit before I sprung for the CV1. Honestly, playing with my DK2 was great for headtracking (way better than desktop) but drove me crazy with the need for hand controllers.

Before I got my CV1, I played 90 hours of vrchat on a DK2, half of which were at meetups. It's worse, of course, but it's much better than being a desktopper.
Use the 0.8 runtime, steamVR will detect and recognize it as a DK2 with one sensor, it's still got full support. Get a wireless generic or xbox controller and position your sensor so you have decent standing room, being on your feet helps a lot with immersion.
Locomotion the same for all vr users (stick) whether you're using vr motion controllers or a typical game controller. The biggest issue is no hands, you have the same limited grasp as a desktopper, which will get very frustrating, but in terms of head moment you're pretty similar to any other vr user playing in seated mode.

why is it that full body tracking breaks eye tracking?

I mean, it's not actually tracking your eyes, it's just a built in "make the eyes follow people locally" thing, so im not sure why full body tracking breaks that. is it a bug, or just an unavoidable side effect of something with how full body tracking works?
