Like a webcam, it only lights up when it's being called by software.
If you're not sure you've done your mod correctly, one thing you can do is short the fan controller so the fan is always on. Cut the little blue and yellow wires next to the fan. If you do that it will always turn the fan on as long as it has usb and 12v connected.
It doesn't necessarily mean the usb controller can see the device, just that it can draw 5v power through the port, but at least it means you haven't bricked it if you can hear the fan.

Ah, it differs from the 360 kinect, then, which lights non-stop when there's power. I didn't mod it; I thought I was buying one with a real adapter as the listing seemed to make out, but it is clearly modded with a power lead. It did absolutely nothing for several hours; windows doesn't even acknowledge a device has been plugged in. Yeah I have one since I live in a place where it's summer year-round. I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is, but it does make a difference. So, I have an issue with this skeleton. VRChat is not happy about using the clavicle bones (in grey), but also refuses to allow the actual shoulder bones be used in their place (because they are not the direct child of the chest).
What's the best way to resolve this?
I can simply connect the shoulders directly to the chest and ignore the clavicles, but it looks horrible on the mapping layout and I'm not sure if it would cause all sorts of other problems.

The way to deal with this issue is to splinter the group into 2-3 worlds.
We're often pretty good at that but tonight we didn't splinter off.
The lag in the pug was particularly bad because there were some people not that closely related to /vrg/ having a particle spam contest on the second floor.

No it isn't. It's laggy because dozens of people are in the room trying to get included in screenshots, once the meetup splits and people move to smaller worlds to talk or dance or lewd you'll be okay.

And after the meetup splits you can tell the people you're with "hey guys lets not go to [Laggy Full World], lets go to [Not Laggy World] instead" but to do that you gotta speak up, nobody can read your mind and know what you want.

maybe next time stream the bigscreen at 720p, i cant seem to enjoy the movie at 1 080p as the player was pixelly and constantly buffering

480p is actually fine in Bigscreen. You can't see much difference in VR because of the screen door effect, and buffering is far worse than some pixels.

We did. It was a short visit because the party was crashed by the hacker that's been stalking us a little bit.
He used his program to teleport the items the the same point, and was shot by a crasher while in the corner with them. I was in the corner with him trying to clean it up and got shot too.
By the time I was back everyone had moved to another map.
