I played about a hour of the Compound demo and I love it. The harsh drawback to it, however, is there's no in-game turning but I got used to it easily as a Riflet. I really enjoyed the fact that you can pick up corpses and essentially use them as human meat shields, even the robots. I honestly never played any classic Doom or Wolfenstein stuff so for me this was a pretty incredible experience and if I were a retro gaymer I'd say this was a passionate homage to those games. I'm definitively going to keep tabs on this, it's a good VR idea I think.

The sound design was good I suppose. I could essentially predict enemies were coming from based on their footsteps and the gun sounds were enjoyable, but I'm no fetishist nut to say what is or isn't good, it's no Onward that's for sure though.

Be prepared for weird shit to happen while doing it and having to make multiple tails for multiple idle states.
I eventually just settled with a really basic animation that swaps out which tail is currently rendering and set it to all gesture's I currently don't override, one for sitting and one for standing to make sure you don't get the tail to carry over between the two states.

That's actually the issue I was running into originally, if I set it on the idle animation in the override, my avatar would scuff it's way into the wild blue yonder.

So in this case you actually use an animation component on the avatar itself. Then you make a tail mesh and bones for each state (for me normal, happy, and sitting) and finally animate each tail in a single animation.
All animations then turn on the tail they want and turn off every other one.

It's not a very clean solution but it works, can be expanded upon easily, and VRchat doesn't hate you for it.

Everyday I ask myself why I'm still going to the meetups even though no one fucking cares when I'm there. I spend hours every week just existing at these meetups being on the same level as fucking mute desktoppers. (Not the desktopper hateposter) Is it so bad to just want a little bit of affection?
