Here is a good old one take tutorial on manual atlasing to a single material. It also covers unwrapping the face and any materials that show up as a single vertice. I successfully remembered to cover deleting the old UVMap, despite some difficulty.

I have a somewhat oddly shaped play-spaced because of the bed, I had them at two opposing corners beforehand which is what Oculus recommends you do for a 360 2-sensor setup, but the tracking was complete garbage and I would constantly start teleporting all over the place because the trackers couldn't tell where I was. Essentially, I have missile racks. I want these to track people. Because they're themselves on arms, they have their own skeletal structure I can't modify without fucking up various animations I have set up for them.
In theory I could use constraints, but Unity doesn't use those at all. Similarly, I can't use rigid joints to bind the racks to my eyes because they're the same mesh as the avatar.

How many dynamic bones is too many? I merged this anime down to 24 on the back hair, which is as far as I can go automatically AFAICT. I imagine I can do something like delete half the chains and automatically re-weight the hair, but my blenderfu ends somewhere before that.

Fug has anybody seen this before? Whenever I go to bake the original textures on to the atlas textures, the bulk of the space is taken up by this not-quite-spherical blue (hair-texture-colored in this case) artefact that renders in triangles. If I have any _actual_ UVs in the space, they get half-overwritten during the bake. resizing the real UVs into the corners like the screenshot shows seem to bake properly, but obviously unusable.

It's like there's some other mesh UVs I don't have selected somehow sitting on top of everything else, but I'm pretty sure I'm hitting A.

It doesn't rely on tricks that will break with any given patch. It doesn't do weird hacks with shaders to take images with one eye.

You can set a timer
You can use an "extender" (its a selfie stick)
It outputs high quality PNGs
You can detatch the lens and carry around the camera for better group images

The video camera will output the camera's view to the desktop while keeping the VR headset's view intact. Ideal for recording, streaming, that kind of stuff. Its a bit more of an advanced use case.

We plan on expanding the functionality as time goes on, but this is just "Version 1".

Fug, has anyone been able to upload an avatar through unity recently? I get a freeze after hitting the publish button, for apparent aws credential issues. Using super sekrit advanced hacker skills, I edited S3Manager to actually print the exception in the SDK:

Check to see if your object/world/import etc is a skinned mesh renderer instead of mesh renderer. Skinned is for animated objects and is ignored by the baking and if your imported model had bones, even if they were just bones for doors or whatever, you won't be able to light it with anything but dynamics. Took a while to figure that one out.
