Is it possible to spread malware, viruses, etc through VRChat? You join a world and hundreds of gigs of shit fill up on your computer pretty quick, couldn't some malicious code be hidden in an avatar or world?

I did a malwarbtyes scan. I've never seen anything odd in any scan in years as I'm not a retard who downloads free_porn.exe from a popup and shit like that. I found several IP address exclusions were added to my firewall that I never added. I looked them up, they were all on lists of malicious IPs. Could this have been done through VRChat?

they're not dumb enough to allow any scripts uploaded into an avatar/map to run on your client fortunately, at least from my testing. Scripts like dynamic bones get uploaded but are only used as a dependency reference, the game client itself has its own copy of dynamic bones that runs when you load avatars, and not the actual one you upload with your avatar, because anyone could easily just modify that script to do malicious things. I may be wrong, but that's the behavior i've observed from experimenting.

Only ones I can think of right now off the top of my head that could still be considered "taken" are Cirno and Nazrin, and both of those are edited to hell, to where someone else's take on the same base, or different model of same character, will be different. The full 3d VY's are already using perception neuron mocap gear, so they're already ahead of the consumer VR game. They'll probably figure out convincing facial mocap some other way. Oculus gen2 should be interesting for the more amateur VYs though, if the VY fad still exists in 2020 or whenever gen 2 actually releases.

Any Anons able to help me with dynamic bone skirt lifting. I've had a dig back in the archive and from what i gather its something to do with using a inner bone colliders and manipulating the size.

If you're just starting out I suggest just importing an easy model you like and making it CUSTOM (colour/texture edits, etc). If you're a bit more comfy with blender you could add on props from other models and things. While there are other VR games, none of them are particularly worth talking about at length. You can ask for an opinion about x game, you can get it, you can maybe question the opinion and get a response, and that's it. A samurai/ronin action game taking place in Japan just as the samurai class was dying out thanks to the filthy white devil. You take the role of a ronin who happens upon a struggling trading town torn between 2 warring clans; one seeks to gain a foothold in the town to re-establish the samurai class and challenge Meiji government, while the other clan wants to embrace change and do its best to preserve what little status they have in the new government. The game world itself is 9 different maps with wandering and scripted, story NPCs that interconnect, which you can enter and leave at will, advancing the story only when you want to. All NPCs can be slain and entire stories/questlines can be destroyed.

To deter waggling and encourage swift and deliberate gameplay, the game utilizes a "heat" system, and a push-pull mechanic for attack and defense.

To start, your sword defaults to a "defense" state. That means that you can block attacks with it if you match your attack just right with an incoming blow, which generates an amount of heat (will get to later).

To deal damage, you need to hold a grip button to enter "attack" state. Your sword will now deal damage to enemy bodies as long as it is not being blocked, but will generate more heat if it is blocked.

Pressing the grip button 4 frames after a successful block will count as a parry, and place you in a slow motion ala Sairento to deal more hits.

Landing blows on swords and bodies generates heat on your sword. Heat builds up fast depending on what you hit and how consecutive your hits are. Too much heat will lower your sword's durability and your sword's heat tolerance will go down as well, until you hit 0 durability and your sword breaks.

Swords can be obtained from every slain enemy, and come with random stats and sometimes even special charms. they can be upgraded, but can never be unbreakable. You also lose your equipped swords on death. Health is also low by default but can be affected by sword stats.

For attacking and defense, you have a push/pull/neutral mechanic when swords clash. Basically when your opponent is guarding and you can't find a way around their guard stance, you can push them or anticipate a push-back and make them fumble for a hit. be wary, because the enemy can do the same and your own guard will be deactivated for a few seconds. Push and pull are determined by whether you pressed up or down on your mainhand (offhand is used for moving) last. Pressing twice on up or down sets you to neutral, which is useful if you're anticipating a pull from a defending opponent or a pull from an opponent attacking you (and expecting you to push).

Pressing left on your mainhand puts your sword into a special "stab" mode. You generate the most heat if your move is blocked, but deal the most damage if your attack connects and can impale an opponent's corpse for eye candy purposes.

Pressing right on your mainhand makes your sword into a reverse blade style. Damage is the same, but your opponent is only knocked out if you whittle their health down.

Heat generation, on offense and defense, also differs based on blocking and attacking, and what type of sword you make. You can not block while in attack mode, but you can still parry by hitting the attack button 4 frames after a successful block in defense mode.
