The problem is that if you want to join someone right now, they have to be online, but if they're in
VR they aren't checking the thread. Yuru makes it a priority to keep up with the thread and point people to the meetup. We also had a community norm against namedropping for a while that some people still feel weird violating.
It's not anything malicious, just kind of an emergent property of the way VR and VRChat are structured.

There's no need to go to all this trouble. You don't even have to do it with friendlists. When a meetup is scheduled at a certain time, just have a person come to a public instance of the room and open a portal to the private instance. Have someone take a break every hour or so to go pick up any new people that show up. This keeps most of the kiddy trolls out while letting us meet you guys. We're not troublemakers. We just want to make friends and have fun too.
Perfect example was last night at the Rave Robbi. Absolutely no one was in the club except for me for an entire hour beforehand. I'd have appreciated just a portal in is all. Then I wouldn't have had to deal with any of the friendlist crap to begin with.

Modern video cards will handle tens to hundreds of millions polys without breaking a sweat, the bottleneck in vrchat is the number of drawcalls sent from the cpu, which generally goes 1 per mesh times the number of materials on that mesh. In an avatar you want that number at 1, maybe 2 if you really need a second material or a prop on a second mesh. For a world you want 50-75 drawcalls max (worlds can batch many of the calls which means they get away with higher numbers)
You can check drawcalls in the Profiler window in Unity. Subtract one for the scene itself and turn off lighting when testing avatars because that multiplies calls.And trying to balance a stacked teatray without flipping it is fun of course you want to add that

I have an Oculus Rift CV1 and SteamVR is a fucking nightmare on it. Any time I want to play a game, the audio never works. Even when I go to my PC and switch the audio output (in the mixer) to Headphones - Rift Audio, I get nothing.
The Oculus software works fine, but SteamVR doesn't. What am I doing wrong?

Ok here's the thing. You don't need to have your toes be super controlled right?
As long as you have a set of animation that you want the gesture to do, you can bind it to the gesture by making the whole animation on the gesture override itself instead of following the "2 frames only" rule.
The only downside to this will be that there will be some noticeable sticking on your hand and gesture when you access the animation. (Kind of like a cooldown)

You supposedly can. But you need it to be legacy meaning the feet itself has to be a separate mesh object that you just place and REPLACE the actual feet of your main humanoid. Make the main humanoid's feet invisible and place the separated mesh feet there that is legacy based.
From my previous experiments that I haven't finished due to reasons. That is the way to go about it.
Hope you can find a better way though. More power to you.
