now I need to weight paint everything else.

special adice would be appreciated on what the proper way to weight paint the shoulder straps is, because whenever i try it ends up scuffed, mainly because im weight painting it to the t pose which means it then distorts everything when the arms are at my sides..

The only advice I can give is not weight paint the bones only in a T-pose, but move them into different extreme positions and also try to weight paint while in those positions get it to look right as well, since it's faster than importing and trying to see it in game. You might also try to make or load an animation of a run loop or other arm movement into blender's timeline to see your weighting in smooth motion. I'm really not an expert though, I only just weight painted my skirt while watching the first few youtube videos on "blender weight painting" at 2x speed, did a shitty imitation job, and called it good.

You could also post in the /3/ WIP thread, sometimes there are helpful people there with actual industry experience or really good larpers.

Smooth stick locomotion (and turning) usually causes motion sickness for people who are new to VR. Any "real" movement done by physically walking around your playspace will be fine, the nausea from virtual movement happens because your inner ear doesn't feel real acceleration when you're just thumbing a stick. This is very similar to the motion sickness from a car/ship passenger where your ear feels it but your eyes don't see it. Motion sickness medication treats VR sickness too.

Whether or not it's available completely depends on the game. Most games have options for both teleport/holoport and smooth movement, but the smooth option is usually off by default.

CM3D2 is a unity game so the first two are shapekeys that work in the same way as VRC. You have to alter the overlays because it doesn't export them with the correct scale for your custom head and put them on a second material.

Bend the chest in pose mode, then assign the vertex groups that clip through to the chest, then repeat with the hips. If it bends too excessively go back one up the chain.

Don't.

Reduce your height in game.

You have to reparent anything that shouldn't be on the hips to the correct bone for it to move correctly. You have to repoint the final finger bones toward the end of the finger to stop them crumpling. You can assign both eyes to the same texture by replacing the material with the same one on both, then opening the UVMap, then scaling -1 x on the replaced eye. Final vertex groups - the previous vertex group on the front of the (short) skirt should be weight painted to the appropriate legs to stop clipping.

Easiest way to fix CM blush/drool/tears is to select the shape key in editmode, select the vertices in the UV/image editor, then S to scale, increase value until it matches eye width (1.1 for mine), enter, drag forward along Y axis in right ortho (quad view) if it doesn't pass the skin yet, shift+z to check it renders correctly, repeat for all.

On the third week with my VR headset and I'm slowly getting tired and worried about my purchase. I've played superhot VR, robo recall, gorn, beat saber and bunch of other games I didn't really find interesting. The rate of new song release is slow on beat saver. I have no idea how much content Gorn will receive in the future. I have skyrim VR, but after so many mods and doing trial and error for 3 days I still cant keep 90fps. Pic related is what I'm trying to make it look like in VRChat. It looks fine in unity using fade, but in vrchat it makes the whole thing in front of the atlas'd body invisible, and cutout with alpha mask tinkering makes it look like a static mesh.

Keep at it till you have a solid foundation. I know it's a meme by now but seriously read books from "LOOMIS". That guy really has broken down the art of sketching to a science. Much easier to visualize what you are supposed to be aiming for in a good drawing.

For now, try to focus on making "forms". See pic related. Everything in this 3D world is made up of only 5 basic shapes. Any other shapes are morphed between these shape types.
The cube, pyramid, sphere, cylinder, and cone.

Note how that can even be simplified to just 3 shapes.
A cube with all the 4 vertices on its top squished together will make a pyramid.
A cylinder with the top circle squished together will make a cone.

Once you are able to be comfortable using these shapes, the world is your oyster in making any shape imaginable as they are only a combination of these basic ones.

In essence, copy and paste. Digital information is nonexcludable. When you load a world, VRC downloads everyone's avatar information (meshes, textures, shapekeys) to your local disk so that your local CPU and GPU can then render them on your screen. There's some obfuscation (DRM) around the game caches, but that's just the nature of how VRC rendering works. I'm importing a CM3D2 model for the first time and struggling with the hair. It looks fine in Blender/Unity but when I actually go into VRchat and look in the mirror I'm missing big chunks of the front hair. Tried messing with shaders to no avail and upon closer inspection it even looks like it's somehow sinking into the face.

The general consensus is that a real generation 2 of VR probably won't land until 2020, so you should definitely get your money's worth.
