I take mine down often to travel. I use audio equipment heavy duty clips with camera threaded mounts on them when I'm showing off vr but have the stock ball and eye mounts drilled into the wall. A bit of poly-filla and paint when you move is nbd, most landlords never notice. Not allowing gen1 vive trackers to vibrate is really important to prevent framedrops from xyz drops now and then.

Zero issues with my tracking, both headset and controllers. The trick is to use your bluetooth adapter in a 2.0 port far from any 3.0s to avoid RF noise interference - mine is plugged into my monitor.
It tracks your controllers outside of the HMD sensors using the accelerometers and gyroscopes - generally it's fine for reaching for something behind you, pulling an arrow, etc. If it stays outside of the sensors view for a few seconds, it loses positional tracking until it's back in your view.

You can get your hands behind your back with the inertia tracking and even twist them around (still tracks rotation). The only catch is that once you're bringing your hands back forward, they'll snap out from behind your back to their true position.
I think a lot of /vrg/ assumes that your hands come to a dead stop at the limits of the tracking. They don't, they continue to track through accelerometers and gyroscopes.

Odyssey has hardware IPD adjustment and built-in headphones/mic, which the other WMR headsets don't have, but it's also expensive enough that a Rift is a better option if you're more worried about tracking or controllers than resolution. It still has the same tracking limitations that the other WMR headsets have, which are definitely noticable in some games on my Lenovo headset. I think WMR is fine for cheap, entry-level headsets, and it definitely gets more hate than it deserves for something you can get under $200, but the Odyssey doesn't make sense to me. I picked up the Odyssey for 300, so it was cheap either way.
That said, my take on it is that the quality of the HMD (same panels as the Vive Pro, built in mic/headphones) and ease of setup more than make up for giving up perfect tracking outside of your FOV.
I also played around with the HP WMR. If your IPD is 62-64, I absolutely recommend it, the LCD panels are better than the Vive and Rift (and better than the Odyssey in terms of SDE too - the least SDE I've seen, but has less contrast than OLED) - but I have an IPD of 66, and have to say that by that point, I don't think the Software IPD was good enough, and the optical sweet spot was small. I think it must be an absolute steal for people who have the right IPD though.
