I exclusively use custom shaders and ones I've personally tweaked that exceed the performance of standard to get various effects.
That reminds me:
I'm not sure if cubed or noenoe's toon shaders were whitelisted in their current state or not. If not, this could be a problem for most of us.
I'm writing this off the top of my head, but one thing that is almost completely whitelisted is standard unity assets and the brand new particles asset for 5.6.
one little known fact is that 5.6.0f3 final is completely compatible with the current version of vrc.
I'm not sure if the standard shader is whitelisted by NAME or by MD5.
If it's by name, it may be possible to manually edit the standard unity shaders to include some toon things or at least find lit some legacy shaders or something that is allowed that will work.
I don't know how on earth they're going to do this to avatars because swapping shaders isn't cut and dry. Unless the parameters are identical things like textures won't be transferred.
Not knowing how I'm going to look in the future to other users is giving me a aneurysm.
I'm personally planning on uploading a standard shader version of most of my avatars and trying to get it to look as good as possible. Fade, transparent and cutout are still a thing on standard specular and so help me god they better have whitelisted that too.

the main concern is that even if you are trusted, a lot of people may opt to standard shaders anyway. I didn't check exactly how that works, someone needs to break it down.
the blog post is a little obtuse since it's basically a two sided matrix of you vs someone you're not friends with that determines how you appear.
it reminds me of my custom polaroid camera that I have that works for friends only, and another that works for randoms on how I rig it up.

In the end, what we've learned from this experiment is that you can't easily make people just be more social with a simple list. It's true that this experiment seemed to be slightly beneficial to connecting some anons with others, but not a lot. More specific social events like a matchmaking thing should be better, but really in the end it's about just making the resolve to get yourself out there and connect with people, being proactive. Unless you do that, you'll always have trouble making long term friends (friends that you don't just talk to a few times and then drop communication with because both of you weren't good enough at creating and maintaining connections).

What movement scheme do you use for H3VR on Oculus Rift + Touch?
Using the RoboRecall system means only one hand moves, and you can't pick up shit with it. Using the default system means I can't rotate unless I rotate my body, and with 2 front facing sensors thats bad.

Is it worth fucking around with cloth physics?
I've been trying for a few hours, but it seems even wonkier than dynamic bones, and using what used to be a multimesh model, the pieces on her outfit just aren't sticking together in any sort of decent manner.

I was hoping I could use it to avoid some of the clipping issues, but it looks to be bringing up more problems than it would solve unless I was using an extremely simple model.

It's only worth it for niche uses, like capes, and maybe skirts. With multiple cloth meshes on top of each other it's going to look even worse especially wrt clipping. And all of this is disregarding performance.

The only reasonable way to prevent clipping is with weight painting. Remember that weight painting is just vertex groups, so if you're having trouble with a section of your mesh, you can select it all in edit mode, then just assign it to the vertex group named to your bone. Don't have to mess with brushes and shit if that's more difficult.

My main clipping issue is with overlapping layers of clothes. Think like a jacket over a shirt, or things of that nature. Set the cow layer to multiply, lay it over the dress texture, and play with the opacity - I'd start at 75% and tweak it until I like it, since pure black will just drown out the detail of the dress.
You might want to go in with the dodge tool on the black spots on the cow layer where the fabric has ripples to give it a bit of depth.
If you want to get really creative, duplicate the dress, and cut out just the areas where the cow spots are, and either overlay or multiply that over the cow layer to preserve a bit more of the fabric texture where the spots are. Play around with different options until you get it just right.

Grats anon! Though maybe it's a good idea to place an activate-able "invisible wall" for the rooms on the inside. So that when the party wants to go to a new map they can drop a portal for their group only. Just add a cooldown for the wall like 5 minutes. Enough for when the people are about to drop a portal.

hard to implement when timers are broken currently. the world channel on discord reported timer issues. The problem with having a wall without a reset timer is that you potentially have someone just closing it and then respawning to do it on all rooms. I will look for a proper solution, maybe even something that checks if a trigger is empty.

pic is culling from the center of one of the rooms, while neighbouring rooms load, avatars in them should no unless you hug the wall.
