The camera crashes if I try to record the output. The only times I ever recorded, I used the desktop window, which cuts off 3/4 of the view. SteamVR display mirror is probably the best option.

I use OBS with Game Capture on the vrchat desktop window. Using the stream camera with the smoothed movement mode usually makes for more watchable footage IMO. Use the rift dash or OVRDrop to toggle the recording on and off.

huh, all the "Stream camera" does is replace the desktop window output from first-person to the camera itself, it should work fine. If you do want the full vertical FoV though, then you do have to use the steamVR display mirror, or the oculus mirror.

this, if the score isn't something like 9-8, then it's safe to save. The best you might be able to do is kill at least one enemy and pull back., picking up 2 weapons along the way. Maybe if you're (un)lucky, they might charge at you after it defuses letting you kill them and forcing them to buy again with that bomb plant money. If you made a gambit at the start of the round and purchase cutter(800$) you can do as the above post mentioned, but this option is a pretty big investment. If you die, that's it, don't ever expect your teammates to pick it up from your corpse.

You want two on 3.0 (I haven't tested this but logic says you'd want them to be your diagonals but it's probably gonna be the one on the extension) and one on 2.0 is fine. Headset is literally just pushing a few floats (tracking data) down and piping audio up the headset cable. It would survive on USB1.

I had a Xbone kinect that I modded a long time back. It lasted plenty long for random little adventures with mocap and 3D scanning, but after about two months of regular use in VRChat, it shit the bed. I've still been too lazy to crack it open again, but I highly suspect it's just a thermal fuse that blew that I'll just replace with a piece of wire. I don't think it's up to the task of regular 5+ hour sessions.
You can probably avoid that by clipping one of the PWM wires on the fan to get it to run full blast.
Use a decent A/C adapter and your results from DIY soldering it on should be the same as using the official adapter.

I found that to be a pain, so I just slip these on now. They're even more comfortable than being barefoot since my feet aren't bound tightly by a strap and the fluffy shoes are comfy enough that I even notice the trackers clanking with each other less.

Brown monstergirl australian cat here. Are you rift or vive? I can't help with vive. I play rift with right-handed settings and throw the gun into my left hand after I spawn. The only setting I change is switch the mag drop option into "off hand". With this setup you move with your left thumbstick and shoot with the left trigger and mag drop with the left face button. You snap turn with your right thumbstick.

Note: this makes gun game torture because there's a 5 second window after you spawn or make a kill before you can let go of the fresh gun but everything else works fine.

Now that I think about it might be too small, my "real" play area is 2m+ x 2m and I have my sensors hanging up high in the front wall where I have my computer, looking down straight to where I'll be, there's sort of a "deadzone" between sensors and actual area.

I considered buying an extra sensor right after buying the Rift because I read that "you need a third", but now after more than a year playing different games with it I don't really feel the need quite frankly, I suppose other people experiences might be different depending on play area and preferred games and their playstyles.

I don't use a stock but have played around with some bracket that managed to fit the vive dildo with a bit of foam padding. It had no support for the off hand but the first shot accuracy was a little bit better. I imagine if you practice with it you'll get better but practicing anyway will make you better regardless. Learning where the sights should be lined up and getting a feel for snap shooting will do you more good than a stock will. Most that use them complain about not being able to use their grenades or reload quickly because you have to detach your controllers before grabbing anything.
