It depends on the model, but I usual put mine at 0.02 Z, way back in the head. It makes looking down at your body more immersive, and headpats feel more in the right place.

Some maps have the default front camera clipping plane though, which makes their hands or face disappear when they get close to your viewball. Map makers should set it to the lowest 0.01 ideally.

(2) Their names are shuffled and each person is given a name for the person they will be making a gift for
(3) Having them make an e-gift (blender or unity file) preferably. Or anything that can be placed inside a RAR file (like a steamcode in a text file or a drawing)(edited)
(4) These RAR files will have to be passworded by the gift maker's password
(5) The gifts then have to be sent to the person they are assigned to as soon as they can (with no password)
(6) Then @Blue we will be respectfully asking you to add a Christmas tree on the center of the christmas map you are making
(7) Under this christmas tree there will be giftboxes (With names on top of them for which person this gift box is for)(edited)
Note: These giftboxes will have a plane hidden inside it with no material
(8) During the [CHRISTMAS PARTY DATE] Using a Map MASTER ONLY Toggle button. These plane will change into the specific gift box password combo for the RAR file per person
Note: Each zone will have their own version of the map so lag wouldn't be too much of a problem

Thinking about setting up a poker tournament game. Bit more serious than the regular stuff anyway. Since there seems to be no rules against infinitely buying in chips it'll have to be gentleman's rules but I think we could probably do it easy.

We could test it out tomorrow with the mid stakes and see how it works and if any rules need adjusting or whathaveyou. Mid stakes have blinds of 25/50 and a max buy-in of 5k. If we tell everyone only to buy the lower limit of 2k it will make the game go a bit faster and make each bet worth more. For the real deal though we might want to do high stakes but they're only available on the weekends I think.

The settings are pretty avatar-specific. The only sure things are that elasticity, stiffness, and inert need to be zero, force needs to be slightly negative Y, and you need colliders and a small radius. Technically, the elasticity/stiffness only need to be 0 for the ends of the bones, which why there's a curve setting on the video. But you should make sure the bones flow naturally at first before trying to stiffen the beginning of the bone chain with curves. Then be very careful with your colliders and radius sizes. When you hit play, the hair should flow down instead of spazzing out inside a collider.

One other thing to check is to make sure the scale on your overall avatar gameobject is 1.0 in all axes. If you had to scale down your avatar because it was fuckhuge after import, you have to change the scale in the .fbx import settings instead, in the "model" tab. I dunno if dynamic bones are affected as much, but cloth physics gets weird if your gameobject scale isn't 1.

You know what, VRChat has made me discover two things about my sexuality which I think more than a few can relate with. The first is that I cannot be sexually attracted to masculine physical features no matter how hard I try. Just picked up a Vive awhile ago and have been meaning to use it and thinking that a driving game might be fun with headtracking (no wheel though so I'd be using a controller or Vive controllers).

I've had good luck with the CATS fbt fix though, on the 2 MMD rigs I've used it on. Always save a version of your .blend before fucking with the armature though. You'll want it for transferring weights when swapping in clothing and skirt weight painting and stuff. It gets kinda weird otherwise.

Got a lenovo explorer a week and a half ago thanks to the advice in this thread. It's running better then I thought I would!

Curious about how I should upgrade my hardware next though, as some of the more intensive maps on VRchat can have crap framerates (haven't even touched Pavlov or more intense games either). Here's my current hardware

AMD FX 8350 4.00 Ghz
8 GB DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon R9 290
HDD 7200 RPM

Was thinking of upgrading my CPU to one of the new i7s (or maybe i5), grab 16gb DDR4 memory, and then upgrading the graphics card at a later date.

^ Would upgrading in this order boost my performance for VR a lot? Or would my older graphics card just bottle neck me to the point it's not worth upgrading unless I get a new Graphics card too?

VRC is mostly CPU dependant, so it shouldn't be bottlenecked too much from your GPU.

Me and at least one other anon Still play it. it's a great simulator. Ping pong works really well with VR, since the lack of haptic feedback doesn't really matter. I've mostly stuck to the singleplayer minigames and the serving robot though, since I'm hopelessly shit at at playing. I want to git gud, or at least be able to return shots more than 50% the time, before playing more multiplayer.

I've never tried it, but apparently you can pack 4 people into a lobby and play doubles, or just spectate 1v1 matches. If anyone's interested I can post a lobby tonight.
