Hoooly fuck good work guys, just one coordinated shitpost and flat's gone, finally some peace. Thanks for that great plan Bote you really got him good.
>>240507151
same i guess some people are just not made to be social and destined to be alone forever. been trying to make friends for the past 10 years and it never last for more than a couple months.

What does flat even do to get random shitposts in quick succession?
>>240508186
hi flat.
>>240508336
here's some 4chan knowledge for you
If you see someone getting shitposted like crazy like this, one of two things is happening
1) they are reacting to it somewhere you can't see
2) they are doing it themselves
Shitposters are always looking for some kind of reaction with their shitposts, so look at the potential places that the attention is coming from. And if someone starts shitposting you, the best thing you can do is not react.
>>240507380
Bote is the cutest
>>240506985 (Cross-thread)
It's fun for a while but you'll get bored of it eventually. Fantastic gunsim that fails at gunplay and held back by the lack of no multiplayer, which is necause the networking and physix stuff would be a nightmare to code
>tfw no flat as vrpet
okay we're playing serious sam vr(on fusion) again in about an hour(2 est, 11 pst) or whenever dal gets home. we've got a mod pack this time, so make sure when you launch serious sam fusion you select the moddable version. also i recommend downloading the mods before joining! hope to see you there. probably playing versus mode too. the same as the usual posts, add dal on steam. to find dal, it should have him listed on the mod collection

Can I use hypnosis to help myself become the cute girl and be a better VRpet?
We watched some videos in mogra. It was fun.

>>240515136
You can try but your unconscious mind can bail you out if that's not what you actually want
>>240515136

>>240515952
But I want master to think I'm a good girl so he'll give me more head pats.
>>240516195
What you get off on and what you actually want to be are two different things, the hypnosis will fall flat on its face and you might get a personality shift towards the opposite
>>240516168
>breaking people into cute girls
>not just waiting fur them to proteuse into the cute girl and snapping them up when they order their first pair of kneesocks
Hypnosis is actually just planted thoughts, if you interpret the thoughts wrong you can be "hypnotized" into becoming whatever IF you want to be that, that's the whole thing you cannot be "hypnotized" into something you do not want to be on some level, if there is enough mental resistance to it it will fail, i could tell you bada bing you are now gay but that doesn't make you gay unless you already have internal wish to be gay, your mind is much more capable of resisting things than you realize

Is all the VRpet shit reall?
I thought it was just a meme shooting off from VRfus, but it's got a growing strength and presence in these threads
>>240517174
Repetition until people accept is as a norm, it makes it easier to be manipulated into becoming one, same thing as with programming socks etc memes
>>240517174
It's a meme. At least I find it absolutely disgusting for it to actually happen
>>240517174
I don't know if it's real or not (probably not), but it's pretty cringy.
>>240516692
>simply sitting there and waiting for them to proteuse themselves at some point
>not pushing and teasing them slowly into it
>not watching them question themselves as they cling more and more to you as a coping mechanism
i don't think you got what the fun part in breaking them is, waiting is boring.
>>240517174
People decided to fuck with Cryptic so they put him at the center of an imaginary harem. However, if we believe hard enough, it might actually exist.
>>240517174
It's not a meme, some people are actually VRmasters/VRpets
Much like accepting kemonos and those that skirt the edge of what is furry actually attracts legit degenerate furries, all the 'jokes' and 'memes' around the vrpet shit is just a test to see how well it's going to be accepted here.
If there's not a lot of opposition, you can expect a lot of degeneracy incoming, very soon. If not, they can always go 'haha I was only kidding, it was ironic'.
Lets see how long it'll take us to get to the same level as the current /v/ second life community.

The bones restrictions for hair makes it so I have to reweight paint the hair so it flows nice. I basically reweight paint entire models now because of this. Weight painting makes me want to stab nails in my eyes and throw myself off a building. Weight painting is the only thing that never becomes easier, because it’s different with every model. Even though it’s The ninth level of hell, it feels good as fuck once everything is done and works nice.

Here's how it works.
v-katsu already has a vrm export feature.
you take the card to their site, and PAY THEM DOLLARS, and they send you a vrm.
Those are super easy to get into vrchat since cat's supports them, and unity can export fbx, too.
I'm sorry call me a sick bastard but I can't stay out of VR Paradise. This is why VR was created. The women are gorgeous and an move but the way they look into your eyes takes it to another level. I have to turn my monitors off so my wife can't see because she'd be pissed, I sat last night for about an hour drinking Scotch, listening to the music and just looking at the girls. The room scale takes it to another level as you can actually walk to the stage for a close. I'm at work so I can't post a link. Oh and pay the reviews no mind the pay per dance system has been replaced with a $20.00 lifetime membership. I can't wait to get home!!!!

it is indeed expensive. I'm not sure it's a one time thing, but really someone just needs to hit the program with ninja ripper.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/871170/3tene/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/939920/FaceFun/
all of these are worth a look, and you can of course use Vroid studio:
https://studio.vroid.com/
software that allows you to create rigged models from sliders is big business and big money. Even if someone develops one for free, the allure of tons of money to be made often prevents them from being released for free.
If you know a developer who has a indy studio that made a really good character editor, to the level of like blade and soul, final fantasy 14, etc, petitioning them to release an avatar exporter for free might be the way to go.
One more thing: The JP mmorpg Onigiri that crunchyroll was shilling a few years back DOES allow you to export PMX versions of your characters for free, I mentioned that a long time ago, but there's a lot of newfriends.
>>240546692
more to that point you CAN get some pretty good results with vroid studio.

oh, and v-katsu IS koikatsu with the lewd removed.
The same tools that work on koikatsu will work on vkatsu with some slight modification.
>>240546692
Ninja ripper doesn't really help. You get a few normal maps, but everything else comes out with the exporter. I'm curious what the VRM would contain. Presumably the shaders would come have to come with it.

If a game is both on the oculus store and steamvr, is there any performance difference?
>>240547776
Pretty sure Oculus Store has slightly less overhead, but the performance isn't as good as if you were on vive :^)
>>240547137
Very noice
>>240547571
t. Cryptic
>>240547218
You would get a VRM, which is just a GLB with a header, it's a container format with metadata like mkv. It also has joint normalization and a few other cleanup things to make any rigged humanoid work correctly.
It does support legacy AND embedded materials, it's up to ivr as to which they used in their unity implementation.
https://dwango.github.io/en/vrm/how_to_make_vrm/
>>240547923
only less overhead because you skip the OVR to steamvr and back again process, which doesn't add much. You could technically launch VRChat without steamVR before, you just had to call the exe directly and make sure steamvr didn't load first.
you could also enforce a runtime on startup.
Speaking of runtimes, you can also force dx12 and vulkan in the command line for vrchat RIGHT NOW, but only players who've uploaded things with both build targets for either enabled will work.
Prior to 2017, vr didn't work in dx12 either, but it was massively better performing.
I haven't tried since the unity 2017 release, and I never checked if it was always using dx12 yet. I imagine not.
>>240548374
not enough
>>240547923
The problem with Lighthouse devices doing their own processing is how much slower it is to correct errors. If something loses tracking it bounces towards approximately the correct position, then requires changes in orientation to get the position and tracking correct. Constellation devices just work immediately when returned to view.
>>240548582
The lighthouse devices do no processing at all. They passively beam frequency match sweeps of IR followed by a sync "flash". The IR sensor diodes on the vive detect that flash/sweep and use time of flight data to triangulate the orientation of the headset so long as at least 2 pips detect data from at least one lighthouse.
Two lighthouses increase precision.
lighthouse 2 can detect more than two due to the ir tech in them. I've investigated the IC and photodiode they use extensively and it's actually not too hard to work with.
Anyway, all that time of flight data is dumped into a SOC processor that creates a "ready when you need it" array of data that the openvr subsystem can poll as often as it wants - it's not SENDING data, the usb is just READING that data plus 3dof IMU (and since it's usb 3.0, that usually works out to around 3ms). There's also proprietary 2.4ghz signal from each controller that goes into a receiver on the headset that adds to that giant database.
To keep things smooth, that data needs to be polled and updated once for every frame at 90hz, or around 11ms, which is why interpolated interleaving causes controller jitter, since they're updating half as often (at 45hz).
This is also why you should have the vive on a completely isolated superspeed usb 3.0 port or a modern 3.1 port with NOTHING else on the controller, you can check in device manager.
Same goes for oculus. Ideally, you want a completely isolated usb 3.0 hub for every device plugged in, which is up to 5 and at least 3, and most mainboards don't have that.
In all cases you should remove rogue 2.4ghz and bluetooth signal from cheap devices as they don't obey 2.4 spectrum laws and fuck up your tracking.

I should add that windows mixed reality actually uses the same tech as oculus constellation but in the other direction, with some minor differences.
Constellation CAN be rapid because not only is it detecting a point cloud volume of the known IR emitter device distances from one another it's ALSO detecting the FREQUENCY each IR device is blinking at. Sources of IR can seriously fuck up Oculus, and it needs a LOT of bandwidth to work correctly. It, however, just like the vive, requires at least 2 points to be reporting to achieve triangulation in the preset volume.
Windows mixed reality and other inside out systems actually use VISIBLE light and modern IMU and accelerometer devices, to get a point cloud of the controller, so they resume actually faster then some alternatives.
Gen1 vive has a weaker IMU for what it's worth, so sensor fusion is a little weaker, however, the vive has the benefit of completely passive lighthouse devices that require ZERO processing power (via an soc or whatever), your pc just reads from a big fat list of XYZ translation data times 3 which is abstracted in software.
ALL of this stuff is variations on the idea behind the Wii wands, TrackIR tech from back in the day, traditional mocap light/reflectors, and SLAM tech plus computer vision.
It's why nolo was able to make a pretty decent solution... and Driver4vr/Kinect2vr is able to work with things like LED lights in pingpong balls.
There's two tracking alternatives that I'm aware of. AntVR is one, and they deserve more praise. http://www.antvr.com/en/ What they built is very low latency and truly unique. Smart and cheap too, I wish more people used their method.
2nd is https://www.neuronmocap.com/ and if they added the same 9dof IMU that WMR controllers used they could do trackers for 30 bucks.
I've tried to convince them to do so or to reach out to VRChat team to develop some kind of device partnership so that vrchat could ACTUALLY MAKE SOME MONEY, but nobody is biting.
also I really wish vrchat used ikinema orion instead of rootmotion vrik :(

Theres actually one more solution in pure IMU tracking in the system Finch developed. If you use a 3DOF controller and lock your elbow, you can pretty convincingly pretend that its tracking the controller position. Working on that principle, strap that controller directly to your bicep, and suddenly you've got the start of some IK data. Now add another one, and hold it. Because you know where your upper arm is pointing, you now have a limited range of positions the controller can be in based on which way your upper arm is pointing. Add in the IMU data from the controller, and you have surprisingly accurate IK for your entire arm and wrist that allows for full positional tracking without cameras or TOF emitNolo. Head position tracking is based on a simple neck model and IMU data. I haven't personally used it but it sounds superior to nolo.
>>240550793
Aren't they redoing their IK system soon anyway?
>>240548582
one last thing: you can increase the speed of recovery from lighthouse in a few ways, the main one is using the sync cable instead of having them detect from one another (because when tracking is lost, once the data starts up again it takes roughly 4-8 full frame cycles before it can tell with certainty WHICH lighthouse is which, which is why it seems to jitter back and fourth along the x axis, it's pretty interesting when you know how that works. Sources of IR and reflections will slow that down too, because the location controller has to decide which source of IR pulse is the "real" one and filter out all the noise. It's just a IR photo potentiometer with two positions, plus and minus.
Lighthouse 2.0 however doesn't have that issue at all, since each lighthouse also broadcasts a frequency the IR sensors can read, so they know which is a b c etc by virtue of the pulse pattern in the first place. It's better with reflections because of it too.
It's a really good tech by itself, but inside out slam is cheaper and almost as good now, but it wasn't 3 years ago. Software lags behind hardware a lot.
And affordable hardware lags behind good software, it's an annoying cycle if you ask me but that's the way it has to be.
Patents and shit also stifle innovation, Valve releasing their open framework for VR hardware abstraction to everyone (and to a lesser extent Razer's OpenVR concept abstraction layer that nobody uses even though it's good) really pushed the industry forward, because at least once you have a noval tracking solution you don't need to get developers to all manually add support to it, you just write a layer for OpenVR/SteamVR and bob's yer uncle.
Technically you can do the same for oculus too, but nobody does for some reason, except pimax and the people behind revive.
>>240551372
I'll also add that Nolo should have released their system as an entire self-contained headset package and I'm disappointed that nobody working on these devices is doing that.

>>240551379
no idea. I do know from the horses mouth that VRCHAT team is doing an efficiency pass on Dynamicbone's code to make it more efficient for realtime networked applications, probably sample rate, smoothing, buffering and a bunch of other stuff.
Rootmotion has updated their VRIK implementation, there was actually some FBT bugs when they tried to update it last time due to the way it deals with spine herichies, but I don't know if they're changing to an entirely different framework for inverse kinematic solving.
Unity actually has it's own solution too, writing something that moves the source bone using steamVR's new skeleton framework isn't too hard and would probably be a bit better, but it's hard to argue with "written already" drag and drop solutions like Rootmotions for marginally better results for next to 0 work.
I think an anon here was working on something too but that might just have been for variations on vr movement techniques.

gearvr and go/daydream use tried and true high report rate 3dof IMU which has been around since the playstation 3 and works very well for that application.
6dof controllers USUALLY use 3dof IMU plus some other way to track Z (stereoscopy, TOF infrared, computer vision) using a technique commonly known as "sensorfusion" combining the data and then SMOOTHING it for accurate xyz translation that's only really been refined for the last 5 years thanks to ROS and robotics in general, self driving cars and the kinect.
Just last year we started to see self contained 9dof IMU that is ALMOST accurate enough using motion data alone to work without some more accurate external source. sources of electromagnetism can mess them up though. I would like to see someone take TREE of them on an ardreno and use a smoothed result with fallback to 2 then 1 if one is failing or giving bad data, they're cheap and small enough. It's a project I've been milling about in my head for a while.
Another perfectly viable option is using ArCore that was just released on unity in SEPT 2018 and a 60fps webcam to track a cube with unique pictures on it like NEXTVr's cube works, and use that for tracking.
I just really want a cheap FBT tracker. 100 or more dollars per tracker for vive trackers (and needing 3) is a bit much when it could be done with a single outside in camera.

pressed submit too fast: the one downside to dual 3dof sensor ik is y-Z position for the entire gameobject. You can get fbt for the object volume so long as the "hips" location isn't moving too much. You can essentially run in place and calculate everything based on where the hips are (which are locked in z space) but you don't have a volume "tracking space" that can tell that you're moving forward backwards in that space.
that of course is solved by the hmd itself and rigid bones, but as a standalone solution, without some way to see where you are in the volume via triangulation you only have artificial locomotion to move you, just like a gear vr can't move in 6dof.
>>240552821
Ah, misread. Still sounds flaky I suppose, with how inaccurate 3DOF is for 3DOF alone. Would need constant recalibration every few minutes or more I imagine.

I've been immersed and working in technology since I graduated highschool. Most of the people working just after graduating need at least 4 years to catch up to what they should have been learning in the field, education is 4-8 years behind modern engineering.

I would love to be wrong, but I imagine they require at least one bone fixed in position (hips/spine) to finish the calculations. I can't imagine how they could detect movement of the entire actor volume in 6dof without some kind of way to detect the root/hip bone in 6dof (without an hmd). I've read about it once, can you drop a link?
>>240553826
you might need to adjust the alpha cutoff. This is why Z write transparency is better than cutout alpha cutoff, it allows for png RGBA transparency to vary directly by the file itself.

It's just finch-vr.com/shift. Looks like they added LEDs for standalones with inside out tracking too. From my perspective it looks like they dont expect the IMUs to drift at the same rate once you do the initial calibration with your arms straight out. If one IMU moves but not the other in a way that both should, it discards and corrects the model. It looks like it ALSO fuses the phone/headset IMU to this model, allowing the model to know that the headset is moving relative to the controllers or vice versa. Demos do show 6DoF head tracking for the set.
>>240554310
shaders that artificially go back and draw double sided normal/faces when the mesh's properties were intended single sided will sometimes be two draw calls, yeah.
Some shaders do it in other ways that are "purely shader" and essentially "free" though. You can technically generate actual vertexes and faces with compute shaders, too, and unity can be told to spawn instances of existing meshes as well via toggles or internally.

The accelerometer would probably be enough with 2 point IK to do decent FBT, combined with the headset's translation position. It has an attitude, accelerometer and 3 dof sensor, but you would probably need lurch too to make it good. 3 of them though, on a puck, specifically oriented so you know ahead of time which one is "up" would probably allow (with some quaternion math, eugh) a self contained 6 dof tracker, so long as you could set an absolute position with another device like a controller first, like you do with the LIV streaming client camera.

indeed. A lot of "toon" materials (especially early mmd) used flipped normals for things like outlines and blushes and manual highlights, they would flip them inside the head so they never showed until they were in front of the previous mesh to prevent z-fighting. That's a lot less common now that proper zwrite transparent materials is popular (and possible!) though.

No, it's possible to have compression. Vridge and ALVR routinely clock under 5ms on insufficient schemes, and both Nvidia and AMD have hardware level streaming that dumps the frame buffer straight down to the video encoder and are capable of 2ms over 5GHz. The problem is compression artifacts at the resolutions we use for this.

I mean that you'd still just be outputting your skeletal tracking data from realsense or wherever as a bunch of arbitrary generic "trackers" in the steamvr api, unlike the defined hand skeleton. >>240566813
You actually need a good download speed for VRC, unlike most games. I usually play on 4G, but if I use my landline, which is about 0.5 MB/s at best, I have to wait several minutes for maps and avatars to download.

My first screenshot is dated the 22nd of January, and I remember they had been going on for about a week before that point when I got my headset.
You call this toast?
>>240567048
The first meetup screenshot I was sent with a confirmed date for was jan 12.
The only claim I got for an actual meetup before then was orb claiming that he met up with faith in December and they had cybersex or whatever.
>>240567282
The 19th still had us meeting up in a public Gap instance shared with a Touhou group. It was a meetup but not a /vrg/-exclusive meetup.
>>240567185
ahh true, I guess if you have everything cached for a map and users the usage is pretty minimal, just a voip connection and positional data streams.
>>240567408
virtual virtual reality is afucking great game.
I recommend everyone to try it.
Buttering bread's toast can get a little lewd though.
How advanced would coding get on a game similiar to Super Hot made in Unity? I mean, you're sort of restricted and the scenes are more scripted than not.
I've been thinking of doing something creative, because I absolutely have no desire to consume entertainment anymore. I should probably start off with making my own assets in Blender, my VRChat experience would also benefit from that.
>>240567408
>>240567869
literally 99% unity prefabs and default behaviors. It's just a really creative idea by that team.
it's no mystery that there's so much vr shovelware. Unity even has a FPS engine demo out now you can literally reskin and make vr and be done with it. I expect more shovelware soon.
>>240551001
IMO it's actually easier to rip with Ninjaripper in the salon if you already have the stuff you want in-game than extracting with Noesis. Or just ask one of the two PSO2 robots if they can rip for you.
>>240568180
Interesting. I'm gonna have to give it a spin then. I might actually get something done if I can just expand at my own pace on something that works.
>>240567869
I'd rank SUPERHOT mechanics as a "easy/medium" on the gamedev programming hardness scale. About the same level as, i dunno, breakout or pacman clone. Some complexity with 3d vs 2d, but a lot of that is handled by the engine and VR sdks themselves.
If you're already done VRChat stuff in unity, I'd take a look at the steamVR SDK and a tutorial like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4Xj5_QjWsU . Then look more in-depth at basic unity scripting tutorials, or if you have more money than the desire to learn c#, pay for playmaker or one of the other node-based editors.

Is Tupper's tutorial still the best for beginner's or did someone tup him?
Found a neat stereo skybox shader for unity/vrchat and 360 stereo youtube vids. Implements an equiangular cubemap texture sampler, plus unity_StereoEyeIndex for stereo depth.
Turns out it's pretty easy to do stereo effects in unity cg. Made the simplest of red blue cube in pic related with a surface shader and
o.Albedo = lerp(_ColorLeft, _ColorRight, unity_StereoEyeIndex);
>>240562836
The VR-Mirrors asset looks too old to use unfortunately. Still working my way through various other unity mirror scripts and a decompiled copy of VRC_MirrorReflection.cs to see how to do it myself. I think the technique comes down to just two render textures for each eye, each with its Camera correctly adjusted to capture the reflection. Kinda dumb that it takes a whole two extra renders of the scene to do a reflection, but such is life.
>>240568921
That's enough for vr in itself
>>240568575
A lot of us played before /vrg/ was even a thing, and the further back you go, the more likely multiple /vrg/ people are going to be in an instance just because of low population. That webm is from EU hours in a public Void Club; I don't know if they all met up there intentionally, but there was basically no one on at that time back then.

>>240569090
For beginners it's still pretty good, I think he said he's making a new one soon but I could have misheard him. Anything that's out of date your brain should be able to easily figure out since the changes are small. You don't need more complex stuff as a beginner, so you don't need to worry about it and can look it up later.

Odyssey+ should be considered an equal to rift and vive honestly, it has the best gen1.5 screen currently. odyssey+/rift/vive basically comes down to tradeoffs between controllers and tracking vs screen quality, how much you care about vrchat FBT, if you care about wireless, and whatever headset is on sale at the moment.
Lenovo explorer is the usual cheapo PCVR headset mentioned, on sale for $180ish I've seen it. The main problem with it is the fixed IPD which depending on your eyes could leave you with a blurry screen, otherwise it's pretty good.

oh that's possible. VRC didn't have a big community before january of 2018 so everyone knew everyone who was on more than a few times really. There were times when the entire population of vrchat at any given time was in a single world. If we're talking /vrg/ generally, I myself accidentally found myself in meetups just by joining on people I had met elsewhere in populated worlds. It actually took me a bit to realize the thread I was reading and my friends in game were one and the same group. Pun doesn't host the unity client on their own servers so I don't think so. Anon that only works if you are afraid of sunlight, let them put out whatever info they have on you to the public who cares? people publish cringey stuff in facebook etc social media all the time, you would have had to mess up really big time with your blurting if they got some material that they could actually twist your arm with
>>240577206
I think you're overestimating your future importance family.
>>240576114
my experience from a few years ago with /slg/ seems to be a lot different from those of now, since the community helped me get started with making my avatar along with hair reccomendations, body, etc. They were also welcoming too and it was easy to talk to some of them.
>>240577393
Side note, this could kill nostos or make it more like diablo than eve online.
>>240577206
I used to be afraid of stuff like this when I first started hanging around 4chan, but it's been over a decade and no one cares. I'm nobody, you're nobody, we're not worth even the odd autist's time. And even if one obsessive sperg decides to stalk you, most people won't care.
>>240577397
>>240577396

its not the vocal ones you have to worry about it's the ones that pretend to be normal but record every word and action to use them against anyone whenever they get the chance
>>240578839
also I know the catherine main character models have been available for a bit, but it's notoriously hard to get a hold of the other ones if they can be ripped at all.
pc version probably makes all of this possible.

God I miss when Yuru was my cute (mostly) mute friend who was always just hovering around being cute.
Tfw get headpats as Nanachi but they don't know about your butthole.
So far I have 45 props and about 70 photos for each month! Thanks to every who's contributed so far.
If you're yet to contribute the deadline is this Sunday, 13th January. Send the below to me onDiscord: Shammy#5256
Props: Give me a prop of something of yours such as something from your avatar or something from your world.
Please give it me as a prefab, it makes it so much easier. To do that in Unity put the item in your scene and set it up how you want it, drag that item from the scene's hierarchy into the folders at the bottom - this makes a prefab. Right click the prefab and click export package and give me the .unitypackage file it creates.
Photos: Give me 1-3 of your favourite photos from each month. Label them up so I know what month they're from. Please zip them.

I wish ex/currently poor people would stop coming into vrchat looking to dump their life's story on anyone who will listen. Nobody fucking cares about your financial status you stupid faggots. >>240596375
I can never work out what they want. I try to be a good listener for my friends, but some people (not /vrg/) just seem to want something from me but won't say what it is. Like someone told me they were literally starving and hadn't eaten in days. I was like damn okay I'll buy you a pizza. They didn't want to give up their address though out of fear, so I guess they starved to death or something.
I think a lot of underageb& people in VRChat just like to make up sob stories and make you listen to their fanfiction.

>>240597581
It's a nice place for socially autistic and friendless losers like me to actually talk to people.
>>240597581
VRChat is basically VR Second Life and it's free, easy to get into, and even desktoppers can play it so they have exposure to people with VR and may eventually buy it. It's VR's biggest attraction at this point, with people spending a thousand dollars just to have VR and lie down in VRChat.
>>240597741
Is that good? How do I see a list of this for all games?
>>240597741
>>240597789
Sounds kinda lame. So it's not even a game? It's literally just VR Chat? And then you come here to chat with anons about VR Chat?
>>240597296
Yuru isn't bad at all about that and lawyers dont make as much money as you think if he's ever talking about his job it's usually people have bullied him into it because his meth head client stories are some of the funniest stories I've been told in vrchat.
>>240598537
Imagine all the things people do socially, not engaged in any other activity. It's actually the way people have generally entertained themselves for millennia. VRChat lets you do that as a cute anime girl with a bunch of other weebs.
>>240598537
Just try it out for yourself man, you have nothing to lose.
It helps if you like/don't hate anime though.
>>240598537
There's a lot of room for creativity in VRChat with its worlds and avatars being uploadable by pretty much anyone. A lot of the discussion comes from requesting help with mapmaking, avatar creation, etc.
>>240595736
Just wait till standalone headsets come out and you use it in a big room/field. You're going to feel free as hell. It's going to be like experiencing VR for the first time all over again.
>>240598537
yeah pretty much.
those numbers aren't purely vr users btw.
>>240598328
while i do agree with you, vrchat is only good for what it's meant for a social game
aside from that there's nothing really interesting about it there are a good amount of vr games that top vrchat in terms of fun (same with beat saber) if anything i was more satisfied by robo recall when i first got vr than i was with vrchat. Vrchat was bland for me when i first tried it out in VR
>>240590074
Yeah it's gotten pretty bad like idk why. like i dropped another group of friends and made another and then like a week later that new group of friends hates me for some reason.
Maybe it's because i'm too clingy with friends
either way i enjoy being alone a lot more
How do I get into /vrg/ meetups?
>>240599735
Add yuru if NA, shammy for EU, temporal for SEA
>>240599472
I didn't say VRChat was explicitly fun by itself. It's not. People are fun, and it's a social platform that's easily accessible.
>>240598537
People have made some impressive worlds with ambiance, puzzles, and challenges, but yeah you're mostly right. By itself it's rather lame, but the entire "game" is community, be it actual people or content. All the worlds, be it the game ones or just an empty box with a mirror, are merely a premise for social interaction.
>>240599953

Neat, I found a working decal shader. it's "Neitri_World Triplanar Mapped Ugly Fast" from https://github.com/netri/Neitri-Unity-Shaders . Not perfect, but enough for some neat effects.

>>240602681
Neat works with 3D particles.
Guess meetups are going to be covered in yogurt and hot glue now...
>>240604489
>>240602681
Made an ultra simple spraypaint can system. It just drops a static billboard particle as a subemitter in world space, i don't think you need mesh particle to get it to work. It'd be nicer if it used the mesh UVs instead of world space, but I'll have to edit the shader for that.

>>240611286
It's because Contractors is hitscan so the hit detection is inherently going to be better.

>>240611479

>>240611864
>>240612401
The time of flight introduces inherently introduces far more discrepancy between clients than the simple hitscan calculation. Pavlov is particularly bad with many shots vanishing, going through walls, or hitting after a perceivable delay.
>>240612960
It's introduces far more problems than benefit it provides in such games. Your AK bullet hits after 0.1 seconds instead of instantly but at the cost of bad hit detection. It's only appropriate in milsims due to the longer engagement ranges and inaccuracies in hit detection not really mattering.
