Been using the Acer WMR headset for a few weeks now and just bought an Oculus Rift. Primarily I wanted the Rift for the controllers, I'm not a fan of Vive wands. Love the way the touch controllers feel in my hands. At first I thought the display would be a big upgrade despite the lower resolution, as the Acer seemed to have a harder-to-hit sweet spot for clarity. The blur around the edges seemed more intense on the Acer but now that I've used it for a while I actually enjoy the display.
I can't tell how much of an upgrade its going to be, but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I mostly wanted to be able to put my heads above my head/behind my back without losing tracking anymore. Anyone here have experience with WMR and Oculus want to give their thoughts?
Also I bought a third sensor but I'm in a tight area atm so my setup won't be ideal. Is Oculus pretty loose with their setup process or picky? I'm going to have three sensors in a triangle at slightly different elevations.

Optimal Oculus setup is a bit specific, but it's suprisingly good in less ideal configurations; if you can create a triangle, you can set up Oculus.
Ideal is a 3-corners set up though, so if you've got your own place and don't mind screwing some lamp-fixtures into the walls/ceilings, you can get best results that way.

I've got both (HP WMR and Oculus)
The rift sweetspot is amazing, the lenses can't be compared, there's basically no blur right to the edge of the fov. With the WMR it blurs unless you stare dead ahead.
The touch controllers are great too but everyone knows that
