You'll need a mesh with an armature at minimum from blender (unless you don't want it to move in which case mesh minimum). In unity you do all the animations, shaders, and applying the rigging of the armature in unity. Textures can be applied in either place but making sure each part of the texture goes to the right part of the mesh (UV unwrapping) needs to be done in blender. Editing the actual texture file itself can be done either directly painting it on in blender or in gimp/photoshop.

It depends on how you move and where the energy is distributed, instantly stopping with nowhere to transfer the energy will fuck you a bit, as well as rolling with your swings like an autistic ball of spaghetti flailing everywhere bending all your joints rapidly.
Get some speed but don't put 100% of your force behind it while also moving the rest of your body like an actual boxer to avoid excessive twisting and energy concentration.
Also a recommendation for shooting games, make sure you dont stand still and twist your spine to shoot people. Stand straight with good feet placement and rotate with your controllers or actually physically rotate your whole body instead of just your torso. I have a bit of a fucked back from bad lifting technique so I can feel the effects more when I do that in contractors+Pavlov.

36 year old guy here that's just started trying out VRChat.

Very TL;DR backstory: I have been on the internet ever since the days of ISDN and have always been a gamer. I even had a long period where I watched plenty of anime (not anymore though for a long time now). Stuff like memes, Pepe and all that shit hasn't gone by unnoticed by me, either. I'd like to think that I still am in touch with the younger generation on the net. Until VRChat proved me wrong.
90% of the stuff I come across in VRChat that makes everyone giggle their asses off doesn't even manage to entice a slight smile from me. Just walking up to someone, pointing a finger at them and loudly exlaiming "Gay!" seems to make everyone in the room laugh, while I stand there and struggle to fit in with the "fun".

The next thing that massively confuses me this "guys playing anime girls" stuff, and traps. I get why there is guys playing girls, that's cool and all. I understand that. Usually, pgs subs are a good sign that you should look for a better release, but you can get them to work if there's nothing better out there. It's failing on pgs because it's an image based subtitle format, and the subtitle filter doesn't support it. In ffmpeg, you'll need to use filter_complex, or use Handbrake if you're lazy like me. Skyrim is a bitch to mod, and most of them dont work anyway as bethesda did not develop the VR version to be compatible with modding. If you are willing to spend days getting things to work I guess it will be decent, if not you just have regular vanilla skyrim.
It's not that bad a list really, just play which one you like the most and rotate through them. VR is addictive particuarlly if you do the social aspect, but the games themselves not so much, switch it up every now and then and things will stay feeling fresh.
Also grab beatsaber, its pretty much a perfect game for VR

word of warning to world builders, vrchatSDK IS rebaking lighting in your world even after you've already baked it, if you used progressive, at least.
This could cause issues with lighting parameters getting reset, and realtime lights getting turned back on for things like emissive materials.
After it does a bake process, there's ANOTHER bake that attempts to go through once you hit publish that gets paused due to being in play mode.
This scene has light probes and occlusion and a bunch of other stuff even though it's real simple.
I can see how this is messing up lightmaps for people.
it's making worlds perform poorly, and basically, it's not using your bake correctly.
You probably need to turn off "auto generate" to get it to stop doing that, and maybe turn off futureproofing, too.
Interestingly I forced a dx12 shader and material upload to vrchat's servers by specifying build and player settings (and using the newer 2017.4) and now I'm super curious if it'll work ultra efficiently compared to other worlds.

I'd like to play Ownard but when I played it for some time before, it wasn't all that fun. I played it over the weekend and while I didn't have the performance issues others had, the game still wasn't much more fun, and the private lobby system is rather stilted and isn't feature complete. Multiple times we had to back out and create a new lobby because the host couldn't perform a basic function. Adding the new respawn-based mode didn't make up for this, and the maps are still just as bad as they were before. Once Contractors gets the new update in the next day or so and official private lobby support, that will probably overtake Onward as the faster paced, realistic TTK alternative to Pavlov. It's really not as punishing as the above anon makes it seem, tactics, positioning and communication can absolutely make up for inferior skills. You can't carry a bad team hard enough to win if your opponents are working together properly and communicating, even if you outclass them all regardless of your sick ass battle rifle headshots and they're all freehanding their controllers. The update is also bringing TDM to the proper maps so TDM will stop being a total meme.
