weapons are a lot better, sound wise and model wise. The new gadgets seem fun from the whole 5 minutes I got to play around with them. When we played it back in Feb there was this weird audio bug where the whole lobby's audio would be played back to you all at once so I dunno if they fixed it yet, and we never played the beta again after that. After talking to some other riftcucks last night, it seems like a lot of the touch controller joysticks degrade over time and stop centering properly. Luckily, you can fix this in software by editing the controller calibration files. Instructions:

1. Close oculus software if it's running. If using oculus tray tool (you should) you can stop the service from there.
2. open "%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Oculus\TouchCalibration" in windows explorer. There will be two text files with .LTOUCH and .RTOUCH extensions. they're JSON files, so open with your favorite text editor.
3. Find the following keys: JoyYDeadMin, JoyYDeadMax, and JoyXDeadMin, JoyYDeadMax, and edit accordingly. If your controller was inputting forward when in neutral, then you need to increase JoyYDeadMax a bit. If it was drifting backwards, decrease JoyYDeadMin.
4. Restart oculus service, test out the new values. You can use the steamvr input debugger as a convenient way to do this. I had to increase my JoyYDeadMax by about 80 to fix my controller, yours will vary.

Interesting, i've not tried that particular prefab. It's kind of old though, maybe that's why it's broken. Check the debug console in game. Hit the menu key + 3 to activate it (works in both desktop in VR). Or you can look at output_log.txt , it's the same thing. It'll show you when all the triggers are firing.

I'll take a look at that prefab later tonight. The other shuffling prefabs I've seen generally work like this: all items to be shuffled have a VRCTrigger OnTimer, which when it fires, presses a button attached to the same gameobject, which OnClick reparents the gameobjects to a root gameobject. Thus when all the OnTimers are finished, the root gameobject has all the items as its children, in a random order. To draw the top item, the root gameobject has an animator that clicks a different button on its first child object in order to reparent it somewhere else, drawing it off the stack.

Apparently though, the OnTimer trigger has a bug in current vrchat where it doesn't reset on enable properly, so you can only trigger a shuffle once.

The menu key is usually to the right of the right alt key, before right ctrl. have to hold it down. If you're on oculus, you can do it from the dash while in game. In desktop it'll pop a overlay over the entire screen.

The X axis goes from left to right, so if you're drifting to the left, your joystick's X is less than JoyXDeadMin when it's centered. So you have to decrease the lower bound of the dead zone. If it was drifting right, then you'd increase the max.

The problem is that the ButtonUse animator controller doesn't have the "Button Use" animation bound to the "Button 05" state. Drag it into the inspector, then it should work.

It's an interesting prefab. Instead of using the hierarchy as a stack and OnTimer, it has a single custom trigger using the "randomize" functionality to click on one of the individual objects. In order to draw without replacement, when an object is selected, it disables a child gameobject of itself that does the random thing (so it doesn't retrigger), and additionally enables a gameobject that instead clicks the next gameobject in the list. so that if the random trigger selects an already selected gameobject, the triggers cascade until it hits a yet-to-be-chosen one.

Interesting strategy, and it gets around the OnTimer bug. Annoying to wire up all the triggers though, and I dunno how it behaves under network sync. Good luck anon. I've wanted to make a good 52 card deck prefab, but the hacks like these are still just confusing.

How much did you play? The starting ultralight undersells the game imo, the first island and its jobs are incredibly easy because the plane is so slow. Once you get to the rocket glider and others, the difficulty ramps up pretty hard and made it more enjoyable for myself. Practice at 70%-90% speed. And don't forget to take breaks and just come back fresh, both for a specific song, and the whole game. I remember when I was barely clearing the default songs on hard, and couldn't imagine even moving my arms fast enough for expert. 1. I heard there's gonna be a con or expo or some form of announcement from them, based on what it is are prices expected to go down more on the current hardware?

I have enough right now for a regular vive, and once tax returns come home ill have enough for the full pro kit. is the pro worth it for all that extra cash? i dont currently have a need for the extra room scale ability and my setup is already under the maximum room scale area for the regular vive, but what about the other features?

2. Regular Vive is good enough, the Vive Pro really isn't that good for the price you pay. The 2.0 Lighthouses are the best feature of the pro.

Sure anon, you can import the .fbx in blender. That'll give you the chance to atlas, decimate unecessary high poly parts, optimize the bones or maybe even weight paint the skirt so it doesn't clip through anything.

What do the avatar stats say anyway? Dynamic bones are a pretty big performance drop.

Don't worry about Poly count too much as long as it's under the 70k limit. It doesn't really affect performance. What you want to look out for is material count, dynamic bone count, and dynamic bone colliders, those are the things that will kill performance for everyone.
