So what's the best of the best VR setup right now? Money is not an issue, I want the best in all VR has to offer. Do I need anything besides base stations, a headset and controllers?

I generally had too much hopes for VR. I really thought we'd have a lot of those "wouldn't it be cool to play [something] in VR" games by now. Didn't expect Japan to basically ignore it completely, games wise.
I was naive, and now I'm back to how I was before I got hyped for VR. Hopeless, hoping I don't wake up in the morning, but doing that anyway.

For the absolute best of the best, you'll get four headsets and use them based on the content you're playing: Valve Index for the best overall, Vive Pro Eye with the wireless adapter for wireless and eye tracking, Pimax 5k for wide FOV, and one of the enterprise ones - XTAL comes to mind but I don't have enough info about the enterprise headsets. With all the bundles, you'll have knuckles controllers and four 2.0 base stations allowing a larger or irregular playspace. Then add three vive trackers for full body tracking in VRChat and tracking external objects like pets. Get a Tesla suit, and I'm not sure how the Tesla suit's full body tracking works, so you might need a Perception Neuron for high quality body tracking in software that supports it, like what the Japanese vtubers do. Optionally, you can buy the developer version knuckles off someone who got those since they have stronger thumbsticks than the consumer version, but it'll be hard to find one that hasn't been cummed on. More optionally, you can hire a research team to modify the old CV1 touch controllers to work with lighthouses so you can have those for special cases. Also optionally, you can look into constructing a custom backpack computer to power the Index to get the cable out of the way. There's teledildonic devices to look into too, but you could just have one of your maids act it out for the most accurate haptics.
