It provides shapekeys and quite good ones at that. The head is also highly deformable to your liking. The sliders are merely soft limits. You can place any number in the text box. But ofcourse you get some weird things outside the slider, so use wisely.

Cheapest reasonable option is used logitech dfgt. Absolutely terrible pedals, okay-ish wheel that's widely supported, costs $50.

G29, you can get h-shifter too. Logitech pedals are pretty good, logitech wheel base is inferior to thrustmasters, but still good enough. Also, logitechs make lots of noise compared to thrustmasters. Basic logic is, logitech is a nice bundle, thrustmaster is a nice base for future upgrades. You can consider T150 as well.

T300RS, with non-shit pedals in the bundle. It's one of the best consumer-tier wheels, and it's kind of a platform so you can get all kinds of different pedals, rims, you probably won't feel like changing base in years to come.

I'm a big /o/tist, been playing sims for couple years now, and i'm just using g27 with a small brake pedal mod. Then again, some people are not as easily satisfied as i am. If i'd have to buy something now, i'd probably go for T300.

Also, if you're considering one of those (150/tmx), do your best to get an RS(Pro?) version, one with three pedals. Lowest thrustmaster pedals are pretty bad, you don't want to spend a month on being frustrated because you can't brake only to learn that you get better when you push a bit of sponge behind your brake pedal. Pedals are pretty important.

You can still play with those bad pedals though, it's not like those things are absolutely unusable. I think it's worth it to pay extra to get anything better, but if you can't get the good ones, even the worst will do the job.

If you really need full body, consider getting a vive and upgrading piecemeal to index, but know that fullbody only works in vrchat, so unless you plan to spend most of your time in there, it's useless. Rift S is the best value buy for actual VR games.

The level of presence with Index and full body tracking in VRchat is actually difficult for me to handle. 220 degree FOV with high resolution foveated rendering is genuinely going to be hazardous to mental health.

How is there still no good centralised method to force games into VR?
When I bought in years ago that's what I was looking for, vorpx is okay but doesn't support enough games, tridefVR is fucking dead, nvidia lied about converting their 3D Vision drivers into supporting VR and I'm just about done with this medium if nothing else happens.

There are literally zillions of games I want to play. H3VR, Redout, Gorn, VTOL etc are good games but it's like a consolation prize compared to playing through my library with 3D depth.

what are the odds of the oculus cable being fucked after a couple of years?
I have an oculus rift for two years now and everything worked fine until recently.
I was playing a vr game and suddenly the headset went black, getting message on the computer saying the headset wasn't detected anymore on both steamVR and oculus page.
Right now i checked steam and oculus if they needed any updates, none.
i check the oculus setting to see if the headset is detected, yes and no.

So basically i toyed around with the cable and the headset on my head, it gives me very quick detected/undetected status on screen, like 6-7 time within a few seconds but ultimately, the dot is always orange and undetected.
i'm really guessing the hardward is at fault

I don't think they're particularly fragile. There's some annoyances with the implementation, like:
- finger tracking in VRC is imprecise
- older games require binding vive controls to them
- beat saber requires custom angles
- picking up and dropping things intentionally takes practice
Despite that I prefer them over touch controllers for the tracking and extra buttons.
