Thanks to premixes, we can have fun with visuals and do things we weren't capable of doing before.

Isn't it basically just a basic bitch unity wrapper like the rest of these "VR emulator" things that just run the emulator in question in the background and use screen capture to put it on a screen in-game?

I cannot understand the target audience for this kind of shit. I'm guessing they're the same kind of people who buy FGPA consoles and NES mini garbage, zoomers who don't actually want to play games, they just want to show everyone online they can.

If this seems harsh, bear in mind that the one VALID use of emulation in VR, light gun and, to a lesser extent, Wii games, are completely DOA with nobody working on it. Instead we have a bunch of these "room simulation" instagram opportunity platforms like NRA and EmuVR.

Nobody was interested in doing the work when there were only a couple of APIs to deal with, you think the fact it now might be just one API (ignoring the compete lack of button parity that means you still have to code for individual systems), somehow makes this a more enticing prospect for emulator trannies?

What's sad is that the emulators I'd actually be interested in are all very slow development arcade based stuff, where implementing VR is just totally off the table.

Technically, you can't. The version of MAME that's supported by NRA is the old version with the helicopter bug.

There are a few games you can play in NRA, but it's a fucking hassle because you have to reboot constantly because you can only put one game in at a time, off-screen reloading doesn't work, and the actual tracking is laughable and requires you to set it up for each new game by messing with your joystick/thumpad to line it up, and then disable the cursor with your keyboard.

It's one of the worst emulation experiences I've ever had, only made worse by the fact games run at 10 fps.

I wouldn't mind a true VR MAME experience, complete with an adjustable virtual screen, actual optimisation, and proper tracking.

They kind of work, the problem is more that the frontend is so terribly designed that doing anything with it is like pulling teeth.

There's no conceivable reason that it can only support a single light gun cab at once. But it does, so you have to exit out just to switch games.

I used to have Vive with DAS and wearing glasses with that thing sucked and I quickly scratched the lenses. I just ended up not wearing any since a little blurriness didn't really matter with the low resolution and SDE of that thing.

Using glasses with Index is much more comfourtable. There seems to be much more room for them and I get similar or better FOV than with Vive without glasses even when I have to leave room for glasses. I also have to use glasses now or my nearsightedness starts to bother due to higher resolution and almost non-existent SDE.

Seems like lighthouse tracking adds $100 to any device judging on existing hardware. Personally I would be ok at least around $150. I'd like it to have silent activation too and not some mechanical *CLACK*CLACK* meme. Given that you'd need to write software and have very limited customer pool which is already paying premium prices for stuff it would probably end up even higher.

Have been looking into getting a VR for simracing mostly LFS/AC
There are so many options out there
So far I only got to try Playstation VR on GT Sport and it was very nice to have all this depth and being able to look into corner however the screen door was terrible!
It seems like nice pick but that SDE puts me off, then again we have all those other much pricer options with lower SDE such as Pimax 8k, Reverb are they worth the price in that aplication?
Or maybe PSVR will be good enough and I maybe could get used to it? Also it enable me to play upcoming those jap VR VN style games...

Also will my GTX 1080 be able to handle it? Or will I need upgrade to 2080ti?
