I'm stuck at texturing right now it just has blender materials. My method I've been using so far is probably really dumb. I end up marking my seams, then unwrapping all the UV's, and then baking the blender materials into the atlas. I open said atlas at that point that in photoshop and edit with various layers until it looks good.

Getting ready to do a second balance pass on some of the middle eco guns, the first lot of changes have gone well and things are a bit more well rounded, but there are still a few loose pieces to poke around- SPAS is now very functional without feeling overpowered at all, and exactly where it should be, MP5 is feeling better, bizon downgrade has gone utterly unnoticed meaning its largely as planned, but the Saiga and P90 are still lackluster, and the UMP needs a bit more incentive to be chosen over the Bizon still. Glock and Beretta are also piss awful past round 1 and gonna be tweaked slightly so they don't feel as peashooter. I personally haven't noticed any other issues with anything, so hopefully after this round of changes there won't be any incentive to move numbers around until Dave drops the big update in Decemberish.

DiRT Rally is free for the day on steam, pick it up now if you haven't already. The VR support for the game is decent and fairly immersive, especially if you have a wheel, but it works just as well with controller too. It's a racing game, probably one of the easiest and purest games to port to VR so there is not a lot of jank in the port itself.

I never experienced this before but lately, with lots of people in the room, I start to get laggy/earthquake effect. I went from Oculus cv1 touch controllers with 3 sensors to index, and I think the touch controllers tracked better. It's not a major difference but there will still be times when I'm trying to line up shots in pavlov and I feel like the index controllers are shaking around or drifting more than the rift controllers did, when they're right up next to the headset. Not to mention the touch controllers are just more ergonomic and lighter. Every day I wish I could go back to the touch controllers, but the index headset keeps me on lighthouse.

Semi-related, but when I first got into VR shooters it was kind of a jarring experience aesthetically too. Like, I'm just so used to seeing animations on a screen and looking at my player character doing cool things. Instead in VR it feels like you have less focus you can allocate to just admiring yourself. It makes sense in two ways. One is that the FOV on a regular monitor is compressed so you can see almost everything clearly while VR is natural FOV so you can only see what's happening in clarity by directly looking at it. So you're kind of absorbing just less visual information. And the other aspect is that since we're using our whole bodies we're splitting our attention with a whole bunch of other things and have less left to just take in aesthetics.

You kind of get used to it but god I wish humans had better perceptual and mental capabilities.
