I've just got Rift S and have troubles with sound source switching when I put headset on. In some games it keeps coming from my desktop headphones. And when I open virtual desktop from oculus overlay (button on the right controller) the sound starts coming from headset speakers. I think that's only when "sound mirroring" from oculus program is working — when the overlay is opened. When I close it sound stops again.
I mean I could just unplug headphones or disable them in windows before playing but that's a chore to do each time.
What is the right sound source setup, what am I missing?

I've been using pic related for a year and today upgraded to a Samsung odyssey. What the fuck? Why didn't I do this sooner? The FOV is bigger and the screen looks beautiful, I can barely see the pixels and if I do I have to focus really hard to see them. so I've seen some videos of the odyssey+ in FPS games having trouble aiming guns close to the headset. does anyone have personal experience with the odyssey+ in the big FPS games like pavlov? I had a different WMR headset, but the tracking is the same. You lose tracking if you get the controllers too close to the headset, but you get used to it though, and it wasn't much of a problem in my experience.
Depending on where you're ordering from, you can always just return the headset if the tracking ends up ruining things for you.

You don't have to go all the way up to an Index to see a difference though. Rift S tracking is would be a lot better, and I think it's still $350 today.

If you're using Quest with Link, that's in beta and not at all guaranteed to work properly. Contact Oculus Support and give them feedback, this might be a known issue or not and they might work on a software update to fix it.

Headphones breaking was a first month type of deal, they partnered with HTC for their first headset so they had some troubles on their own.
Knuckles have a lot of issues centering around the thumbsticks. For the most part you can use them as a left and right analog but clicking them breaks real quick. Some people have trouble moving them, but again they seem to be getting more uncommon.
Did they fix the issues? Maybe. Is Index worth it? I'd say yes.
