Hey guys. You're probably wondering about why I'm posting on 4chan. As someone familiar with the discussions in message boards long ago, this is one of the last places where I can have long conversations on video games that isn't my Discord server or on the comments sections on my videos.

To start, let me just say that I am pretty happy about VR and am very excited for HL:Alyx. However, I was asked about about a discord tranny who is a fan of another VR game, Final VRChat, who, like me, is closeted gay. Even here in an imageboard like 4channel, there are people who still think everyone in /vrg/--a general with thousands--knows each other.

Let's say I'm an anonymous poster here on /vg/ and say that stripping away your drama and discorders/redditors to artificially remove the leaderfags and attention whores.

This fan would use .webm files, screenshots, streamables, and even name calling anonymous people goblin jelly and cleetus and random accusations in order to shut me up. This fan is known as a discord tranny, and he does this to many people at any given time. He refuses to acknowledge that even a good guy such as Jelly and Cleetus has flaws that merit criticism but yet they still deserve respect.

As a fellow discord tranny, the fact that Barry continued to do this for years shocked me. Up until recently, I would say that the idea of someone like Barry sounded ridiculous compared to what I saw on message boards back then. However, little prepared me for the horror I saw going through the archives.

I have weird problems with my Rift S, when I take it off it disconnects after a second and I have to unplug the usb+replug it in and restart the oculus software to get it to work again, I have no problems when it's actually going so I feel like it's not a hardware problem, like a loose cable or something

i have an issue where every time i plug my headset it it launches WMR portal, then i run steamVR, but i <have> to do the steamvr room setup every time otherwise games that let you "reset" the center of your view won't work. some other things can act funny in games if i don't use room setup each time. what's up with this? i reset the WMR setup so the headset is centered correctly and everything and after a bit it doesn't load right either and i have room setup no matter what

But except new players with less then 4-8 hours of pavlov and the few top players. Most have evened out on a skill level that don't deviate too greatly from each other. Which is the reason it might work.

So far, I've only used bladed weapons, and they feel pretty good. You really have to *shove* the knife into the skull. A lot of times I'll got stab a zombie and it gets stuck halfway through, and I have to grab the head and push it into the knife. It all feels good tho

I liked Boneworks but if you're asking "Is it different" then...yeah kinda. This one is much more video game-y (rummaging around places for supplies to bring back to your camp to craft, talking to NPCs to get quests). You can climb on things but it doesn't feel as physics heavy as in BW. More like the climbing in H3VR

I've only tried ETS2, but it's pretty good. You don't have to mod it in, just switch to the oculus beta branch under properties. It works with OpenVR too if you don't have an Oculus headset.

Making a model from scratch essentially involves all the same workflows, but if you already wanted to be master chief or a vocaloid why not work with something that exists? There's also heaps of free clothing and accessory models on bowlroll/booth/deviantart, again less reason to reinvent the wheel.

If you have an (anime) avatar idea that doesn't exist, there's plenty of detailed character-creation tools out there that are explicitly for vr avatars (vroid) or can be repurposed for that task (custom maid 3d, koikatsu)

So, I just played the new Walking Dead VR Game (Saints and Sinners) for about an hour, and oh boy it's actually good. Extremely well polished, it has physics just like boneworks (tho a bit less detailed), the storage system is fantastic, the game looks beautiful even on low. The only problem I have had so far is the crouching. Crouching is button only, not physical. But besides that, besides that only 1 small issue that could be patched in a future update. This game should not be ignored, it's good...I mean it works day 1 on WMR, Boneworks didn't even work on WMR Day 1. These guys who made this VR really cared about this I can just tell. There's even climbing in this game like in Boneworks (even done slightly better since it fucks up less).

Valve should unironically be concerned after the AMA when they said they're doing some inferior VR techniques.
If a fucking walking dead game does it better than HLA than oooh boy.

This makes Boneworks feel like a tech demo.
