I'm just a fan of this kit who's gotten a taste of what's possible so far since it's release and it left my jaw on the floor. There's almost nothing you can't do that you couldn't do in a standalone unity game, with vrchat on top of it. This is making it a fully hosted, free MOARPG maker engine with anime tiddies, cat girls, great voice chat, vr, full body mocap and and 40-80 player support.

ironically, a lot of the issues with udon and things that hold up the 2018.4 LTS release isn't vrchat, it's bugs in unity.
VRChat's team does get support directly from Unity, they are a professional dev house, and since vrchat is essentially "play with unity scenes in a sandbox", and having access to thousands of creator assets of every configuration under the sun, they tend to find bugs and issues a lot more than other people just making a game.
VRChat is actually contributing to the development and stability of unity itself, in a way.

Anyway, to answer your question, pitool customizes the vr compositor prior to exposing the headset to the OpenVR system so it can do brainwarp and set whatever your FOV and SS is set to.
You would be better served figuring out what the hell is wrong with your network stack that a network protocol that only communicates with itself on localhost and a port for regular operation is jacking up your connection. Don't use 3rd party firewalls or "network tools".
If you're running a vpn, do it on your router, not your pc.

I've been thinking about games I love being ported over to VR, but recent releases have shown me anything with combat is practically doomed to be anything other than mediocre. Shooters work well, but they're also the easiest to make, and have plenty of devs working on already.
If someone wanted to port something similar to Animal Crossing, i.e. something that you play to relax or zone out with, how would a VR version work? Since you have to focus on the tasks it's much more involved than running around while you watch something.
This is a weird question just so I can think out loud, but I have been trying to think of what a VR Crossing would need to be something people would play everyday.

A lot of stuff like gardening and rearranging furniture can be done in VR, but you're right that actually bending over and weeding virtual gardens is a lot harder to zone out to than slghtly moving a thumbstick and watching a character do the weeding on screen.

Eh, I think that first-person immersive games where your virtual body is your own body will still be a big part of VR, because that's exactly what VR is good at. Shooting, melee, racket sports, climbing, and more abstract stuff like beat saber, where you're still making full use of your arm movements.

But I agree that there should be more third-person games, where you're just watching in the virtual space rather than existing in it. And a lot of existing genres work great in VR. Oki so here are my brief impressions on the first hour of TWD. oh boy it's actually good. Extremely well polished, it has physics just like boneworks (tho a bit less detailed), the storage system is fantastic, the game looks beautiful even on low. There's even climbing in this game like in Boneworks (even done slightly better since it fucks up less), Swinging an axe feels fucking good unlike in Boneworks....Unironically, This makes Boneworks feel like a tech demo, so much so that I kinda lost interest in playing Boneworks for the time being. Positives aside, The only problem I have had so far is the crouching. Crouching is button only, not physical, luckily tho these guys seem to care a lot about this game because not only does it work day 1 on WMR, (Boneworks didn't even work on WMR Day 1), but 1 day after release they released a hotfix with an Alpha version of Physical Crouching. These guys who made this VR really cared about this I can just tell. The story is also 15 hours long but it's your standard RPG Lite, different dialogue options, you can team up with different groups, or you can just kill everyone. The npcs fuckin react when you put your hand on their head so no headpats for them. The devs are looking into adding some community wanted features, currently just discussing the ideas but the ones they personally brought up were Horde mode and Co-op.

The sweaty day part isn't my words. I am very focused on improving every time I play but I also take issue when people don't know when to cut back from playing optimally. Pavlov is a bad game for always being competetive; It's a inconsistent mess with bad netcode, major balance problems and some exploity ways in which you can play that will give you a clear advantage even against people who are somewhat prepared for it. Some of these are not fun to play against when you're repeatedly getting stomped in a 3v3. I don't want that pushing new or old players away because the chaotic high pop sessions are the most fun for me.

When are they gonna make fun simple multiplayer games. Pavlov is decent but they're arent many good others. Rec room and smashbox arena are kinda fun but besides that they're isnt a lot of different fun multiplayer experiences.

There are a lot of game worlds in vrchat, of varying quality. Eleven table tennis is a great ping pong sim too with multiplayer. Not sure exactly what you're looking for in terms of "simple" though.

I was also thinking of eleven tennis being one before I posted but I probably wouldnt enjoy it much. I don't know just fun multiplayer games that are unique and aren't just shooters. Just something different to play thats actually well done. Because alot of stuff that isn't a vr shooting game is kinda low quality when it comes to multiplayer. L4DVR would have been an instant hit and would of worked so well and Valve would make a great quality vr game. Saints and Sinners is pretty popular and a new L4D would be really hyped rip.

Well, there's some other niche stuff like climbey, mini golf, swords of gargantua, pokerstars, sprint vector, racket nx, creed, brass tactics (on rift), vox machinae, vr dungeon knight. Stormland has some sort of coop but I've never played it. Vivecraft works well in multiplayer, if you can still enjoy minecraft.
