I have hybrid fbt rift with EV3s. I do not recommend this set up at all as it only works for front facing. It's also very expensive. You need 2 base stations, w steam controller dongles that have been flashed as well as the actual controllers. Steam Controller and Steam Link were alright. Steam machines were a dud, but they weren't setting people's homes on fire. Sure Index is a bigger project, but they were taking their time with the Knuckles it had no right to be this bad.

what are some good combat games? i end up buying most combat games i hear of, only end up liking some of them.

vfc is a cool idea, but there is no content right now. there should be a campaign mode 'soon', maybe it will be cool, maybe not.

creed is actually fucking lame, it's made too much like a video game. it's a shame because it's very professionally made and looks good as a stylistic video game. it's just that you character has an endurance meter independent of yours. it is genuinely stupid as fuck and makes it a 3/10. it limits the number of calories you can burn

blade and sorcery is okay, very samey once you play the different arenas and different weapons. most of the combat is just getting around the strafing of the enemies. it's not terrible at all, and it looks pretty good (for a VR game), but the combat i don't think is as immersive as it could be. probably the best of its kind, though

Played a little bit of Gorn, everyone seems to love that game, but i found it a bit awkward and slow-paced. feels like everyone's flailing around. maybe i need to get into the later levels.

kung fu all star looks cool as a tech demo, but that's it. gameplay is stupid, whole game is literally over in less than 10 minutes. looks cool, but nothing else.

powerbeats VR is kind of okay for a workout, a bit of a beat saber rip off, mediocre execution. probably not worth buying if you already have beat saber

sairento is kind of awkward actually if you just try to use the sword and make it a melee game. using it as a shooter is not bad, although a little samey after a while

I can only really give my own feedback on Blade & Sorcery, but I found the enjoyment spiked immensely once I started throwing in mods.
Better AI, more weapons, more everything ranging from serious to silly.

Outside of that the other one I've tried is Sword of Gargantua, which is neat in concept but kinda clunky in execution as a single player game. Though I haven't played personally since the updates started to hit. I've gotten very involved in content creation as my own little hobby plus wage cage eating up the desire to be active after work.

also everyone says drunken bar fight is fun, but it's not. not sure what other people see in it. there's some silly dialogue, and maybe it's fun to mess around with your friends in a game, but the fighting itself is just awkward and not very fun

the best, by far, is The Thrill of the Fight. hands-down the most realistic combat VR game, it's all pretty realistic boxing. This gives a legit workout and actually feels like it's improving my skills a little. not the prettiest game, but still immersive and makes you want to fight hard and burn calories. i wish it had more venues to fight in and more content, but replaying matches to get a workout in is honestly pretty great. i've lost a lot of weight from this game alone.

that's a review of all of the combat games i've tried in VR that I can think of. can someone offer me some good, intense, immersive combat games? I don't think I'm tremendously interested in shooters, but melee combat has no reason to be boring. i also want to get a good workout in.

Easy as then. Take a look at the bones moving in pose mode to see what parts they move and pick whichever one is closest to the thigh's movement. Reparent the 2 chains of bones from the part you want it to bend from in front of each thigh to their respective thigh. With the chain down the middle, use the vertex weight mix modifier to merge the same level of bone you changed the parents of into both legs then delete the bones you merged. You only need to reparent the bones in front of the skirt and can leave the back of the skirt untouched.

Though I long lost interest in B&S because all these came too little too late to justify putting VR on for them. The modding scene kinda blew up particularly if you care about Star Wars OT/Prequel stuff at all. When the leg is bent, the skirt floats above the leg, and I actually needed to go to the top of the skirt's bone chain to prevent clipping, which meant that rotating the leg pushed the skirt into the body.

It'd be nice if there was just something within Unity where you could tell a bone to start rotating a certain way depending on the rotation of another bone, so that would solve both the problem of the skirt being pushed into the body, and let you only start bending the skirt when the leg is making contact with it.

You can weight paint the skirt yourself to change how each bone affects the movement of the mesh but that is not a beginner exercise. Might be worth playing around with if you have the time though. It's not hard to weight paint but it takes practice and knowing what things do and how they work. As for unity you can use the extremely unoptimised way of putting dynamic bones or cloth components in your skirt and colliders in your legs but I cannot recommend this at all as it won't completely prevent clipping and also will nut all over everyone's frames. There might be another work around with joint components in unity too but I don't know much about it myself. Reparenting leg bones and weight painting is the easiest option.

There is a button that lets you limit selection by view which you can turn off to paint through things. You can also separate things by loose parts, selected verts, or materials and use alt+b to draw a box around what you want to be visible. I'm telling you, Vive Trackers bolted on REAL gloves and Thrill of the Fight. It doesn't get much more immersive than that. You can just wrap the trackstraps around your hands and use your fists, it's a really nice experience, even for someone not into boxing that much.

- Go through the tutorials the game prompts you to try if you want, they're fairly good
- Make the vest invisible in settings to make it easier to reach for nades and shotgun ammo
- You can turn the radio to permenantly on in settings but there is also positional audio so it's not necessary
