Boneworks isn't very well optimized and is probably the worst game for vr sickness barring anything that tries to make you sick deliberately. Even if it's caused by the low framerate, you'll eventually adjust to it, just remember to take breaks and maybe get some ginger.

Best starter games for vr are Beat Saber, Space Pirate Trainer, and Tilt Brush. Probably some other ones out there too but those are just the ones off the top of my head. Covers a range of genres too. Ones heavy on movement are a bit of a bitch before you've got your vr legs but it does come eventually. Pavlov was really bad for me a long while ago but now it's fine.

My Index came on Friday to replace my vive. Am I crazy, or are the edges of the lenses more noticable in the index due to the more washed out blacks?

Better noise cancellation, color contrast and black levels. Very rarely I feel like i'm inside of the game in Index, while games like Scanner Somber, Arizona's Sunshine's mines and other dark shit like Boneworks/TWD I greatly enjoyed in a Vive, even with SDE, which becomes much less noticeable in low light conditions.
Lack of SDE is nice, but LCD is a compromise.

I accepted there's 10% or less of /vrg/ that will play other VR games a while ago. At least we have regular lobbies now for a few games, even if some of them get only 5 players each time. The community as a whole is just in an awful state, and it affects everything to some extent. FWIW some mobos do have more _ports_ in the form of usb2/3 pin headers. They usually connect to extra ports on the front of your case, but you can also buy cheap adapters for those to add more ports in your extra pci slots, or in a 5.25" bay. You won't magically get more bandwidth that way though, only ports.

You need over 20 players for the numbers to really cancel out the frustration caused by individual players. Ideally more. NA pavlov last Friday didn't quite reach 20 players and half the games were very onesided as a result. You can't get those numbers with EU. Even at peak popularity, it didn't get that high consistently. The different game modes on NA certainly help too.

I know the shots are projectiles, but the netcode also delays some hits for a long time. If you spectate, you'll often see players seemingly tank a hit, then take damage a second later. Aug is comically broken on davefig after he patched it to be full auto. It's the revolver/deagle of smg/rifles, since it's a 3-4 shot kill. It's also cheaper than even AK so you can afford it most of the time strapped for akm/m4. There's a reason we called the aug the laser rape beam 3000 back in the day even before the full auto patch.

Deag round one isn't even that good because its strength is being cheap helmet pen but you can't get helmets on round one. Burst fire with the glock is easier to score a headshot and the 5-7 will out dps the deag even through armour.

The current configs have been very much toned down from what they were a few months ago.
The only real changes are nerfs to aug/buffs to AK12, and a rework to the armor system to make it work more like Counterstrike should. It's a minor buff to SMGs but everything still more or less kills in the same number of hits.

I have been unable to host lately due to random unfortunate events but I personally try to host contractors and redout alternating every weekend same time sunday.
If you really really like vrfps it's the second most played and some would say the second best multiplayer vrfps out there after pavlov. I suggest you buy it on sale and see if you like it.

It's getting updates currently that will allow people to make mod maps and possibly gamemodes that will likely come out this year so if you're not that keen on it maybe come back after that update because that will really make it worth buying.

I'm not too hopeful for the WW2 mode, it's still going to have a sizable number of automatic weapons and it's not like people enjoy playing wide-open maps in Pavlov already. If I had to put any hope into the game it would be in the modding updates; Map independant mods/gamemodes could be a godsend if they allow enough freedom and there's been talk of adding Lua support so servers can have game independant scripts for votes/admin commands. If you already have a gaming pc min cost is around $200 for a WMR headset like the Samsung Odyssey+. Sweatspot for price is $400 for a Rift S or Quest. Assetto Corsa is very worth it, even for singleplayer. It's very moddable, all of its issues, especially apparent in VR are solvable with Content Manager. If you have any interest at all in cars and racing, Assetto Corsa is the MVP game, mostly due to modding, and will probably remain like that for a long time.

/vrg/ itself mostly only uses the Japanese DLC on top of mods, I haven't played with them because the games take place after midnight for me, but as far as I know the server is always up, they have a mumble and it's not too complicated a process to set everything up.

It saved me a lot of headaches that come with the vanilla launcher. AC's VR support leaves a lot to be desired, but Content Manager does its best to damage control it, as you can set camera reset, race start, restart and so on to wheel/controller buttons so you no longer need to reach the mouse and keyboard to do basic tasks. SteamVR also lets you control the mouse with HMD so in theory it should be possible to control everything in VR, without the need to constantly take it on and off to tweak things on the screen. It also has an option to save presets for races, so for example if you just want to race against a single AE-86 on Akina, you can have a preset for that.
