I always find they run out mid-song on beatsaber while I'm using my heavy handle controllers, big pain in the ass to stop game, take off headset, remove controller from handle, change batteries, put the empty ones on charge, rebuild controller and put headset back on.

God Boneworks is so much fun, the only problem I'd say it has is that there's very little weapon variety.
There's 3 handguns, an uzi, and ~5 different rifles; 4 being automatic and 1 being semi-auto.
There's a fuckload of melee weapons which are fun to use, but I always just end up using either the combat knife, short sword, or the crowbar because they're better than anything else. Why bother trying to clumsily batter enemies with a wrench or lead pipe, when you can just stab them in the face with a sword?

Wrench is the best weapon in my opinion. Solid head hits will straight up kill all enemies and it doesn't get stuck in them like a knife or sword does. The shovel and frying pan have the best sound effects for hitting people though and being able to also stab with the shovel is fun.
As far as the guns go, the p350 I feel has the better combination of mag size and damage though the sights on the elder are really nice. As good as the 1911 is, the small mag always fucks me over at bad times. All the two handed guns feel weird in that game so I tend not to use them. MP5 still really nice though especially reloading with your new mag to slap out the old one.

Try the other method I mentioned. It will obviously mean your shoulders don't move in game anymore, but then the position of your shoulder bones won't have an influence on your avatar.
I believe the issue is caused by the IK resolver thinking your shoulders are lower than they should be, usually because of height issues. You can verify if this is the case by rotating your shoulders downwards in Blender's pose mode and seeing if it matches up to the sagging you saw in game.

I did some experiments to find out if I could get a heartbeat reading from a controller pressed against the chest. In the picture you can clearly see blips among the noise of the controller. This was done with a vive wand while laying down. I tried my index controllers but they harder to hold against my chest because of their geometry. Not sure if this would work with any of the oculus stuff.

VRC Q: Anyone know if FBX supports mesh instancing? Eg. Having one beer prop in Blender instanced about the scene, and then Unity seeing it as that, so I only need to add a collider/grab box to the original mesh and it applies to all the dupes.

For rendering, GPU instancing is applied by material, not by mesh, so it'll work fine with fbx meshes as long as you check the "GPU instancing" box in the shader.
If you're talking about adding colliders to all the beers though, you're probably thinking of prefabs. You'll want to create a prefab variant to add your collider in, then make sure all the beers are using the same prefab.

I tried out unity cloth in vrchat again, inspired by recent posts. I made the world's simplest skirt in blender from a 20-sided cylinder without caps, 8 loop cuts vertically, then some manual fitting to the avatar body with proportional edit. Also pleated slightly by selecting every other edge loop, scaling slightly in XY plane, and rotating in XY plane. 200 verts total, except I merged one vertex to try to get under the 'Poor' avatar rank (spoiler alertanything above 100 cloth verts still poor, the docs are wrong.).
Spent a bunch of time fighting unity's awful cloth painting UI, which is extremely buggy (search unity forums for workarounds if the UI dissapears on you). Added some capsule colliders on the body and on the fingers.
It's not bad. The low vert count makes the cloth pretty stiff-looking however. webm related is using the UTS phong tesselation shaders, which help a little bit in making it look higher poly, but not as good as actual subdivision.

Cloth. I don't claim optimality on the stretch/bend settings, but with this low vert count, it doesn't seem to matter too much. Increasing the bending stiffness adds a lot of starch. Damping is important to not have the cloth jiggle around all the time. Decreasing world velocity and acceleration scale prevents the vrchat walk cycle from flipping your skirt up, but turning it down too much makes it look less realistic when you're moving your body.
With a skirt this simple you can get away just pinning the top edge ring and leaving everything else unconstrained. The UI is awful though, with the fuckhuge balls that you can't change.

Also, I should mention, I usually get around the dumb weight painting balls by scaling my avatar up 2x-8x temporarily, depending on how poly the cloth thing is. If you get the issue where the weight painting UI doesn't pop up then clicking out of the mesh on the hierarchy list then back into it will fix. The bounding box of the mesh may also be fucked up and weird to pop into, sometimes turning on update when offscreen on the meshed skin renderer on the mesh can help with that.

And colliders. Make sure to set them to trigger colliders or you'll inadvertently make a flying avatar. Use the child gameobjects to tilt the capsules slightly to follow the legs. I was optimizing for the cloth resting on the front of the legs closely in Z axis, at the expense of fatness in the X axis. I set a physic material on the colliders, but I found it doesn't actually affect the simulation; only the "friction' setting in the cloth component is controllable.

Yeah. A workaround to try is to disable the cloth mesh in the run animation, which also would reset the cloth when you stop moving, good for fixing the "skirt clips through your entire body" problem. Yes, after more testing, it's definitely vertex starved as is. I was trying to stay under the vrchat 200 "poor" limit but it's pointless since the performance filter jumps straight to medium after "very poor" so in practice you're limited to 100 cloth verts.
I think there's some possibility in doing more complicated geometry generation from the limited amount of stimulated vertices than just tesselation. E.g. using a fur shader to make fuzzy skirt would hide a lot of the low poly newspaper look. I can imagine e.g. a frill shader working well, or even a non-physical cloth wrinkle effect. Basically you're treating the simulated cloth vertices as vastly more efficient dynamic bones, where you can have up to 100 of them and 8 colliders, but at the expense of needing to generate geometry in the gpu instead of simple skinning.
