Rendering a different video in each eye is how existing 3d movies work. It's definitely better in vr than red blue or polarized glasses, but it's still not that compelling imo, and harder to find downloads for 3d movies.

As for whole 3d scenes, there are some shorts done that way. Check out "age of sail" on steam, and the other Google spotlight stories. They're cool, but it'll be a long time before you could render a mainstream full length movie like that.

when we first met we would just have some random innocent fun together. would go world hopping, play minigames, talk about hobbies outside of vrchat, share random stuff on discord, sometimes do pavlov or beat saber together or play pc games, otherwise just spend relaxed time together doing nothing in particular just being there for each other

it got to the point I would log on vrchat just waiting for that friend to join on me
it made me happy and made me look forward to each day

but then we got too close and broke apart
started talking about our real lives, my life is above average, but my friend was going through lows. I tried to offer honest advice to help my friend get through things, but they saw it as critisicm and got super offended. after that they became mean to me, or started ignoring me completely

I recently found out that my VR blur-related issues were caused by my shit eyesight and wearing my eyeglasses inside VR actually clears up all the text and makes things look really pretty. Problem is, doing that, for some reason, puts a whole lot of strain on the area between my eyebrows/lower-mid forehead. Like, to the point where it hurts so much that I have to take off the eyeglasses and then I get sad again because everything is blurry again. I do not know if it's the physical aspect of glasses making contact with my face, I don't feel like they're being pressed by the Rift headset either, so I have no idea what it could be. it's pretty horrible as vr game, it's basically direct translation of original games into vr. so, for example, instead of being able to do all kinds of cool shit with a sword, you get simplified "translation" of flat mechanics into vr, attacking with a sword in skyrim vr is a binary switch of "if sword was swung, translate it to left mouse button click on mouse". That being said, you'll probably have this episode of being excited just about being "in" game at first, and that's a good moment to appreciate games like skyrim vr - games that allow you to stand in skyrim cities, seeing them with 1:1 scale, depth perception, full 3d. So yeah, it's shit, but it won't hurt to try it out. You might love it anyway.

For FBT you need lighthouse tracking which the G2 doesn't support natively, and pucks. There are hacky ways to do hybrid tracking but it's a faff and you need to buy the lighthouses. You also need to calibrate the two playspaces which leads to your trackers being slightly "desynced" in space relative to your headset sometimes.

That said the only real use for trackers is VRC, so if you're completely against that it's kind of a moot point.

yes, you can play vrc with normal 3-point tracking, it's enough to express yourself and enjoy the game. as a rule of thumb, you can assume that every single headset that's considered as "real" vr will let you play all of the games with all of the functionality. only extra features are:

GORN is B&S but with structure essentially,
rather than being thrown into a really badly put together arena you are forced to unlock each weapon through a series of trials
essentially just beat up some enemies then beat up a boss
it polishes up the actual combat aspect too

you'll have fun for 30 minutes then wonder why there is only a medium wave option and shit maps and like a handful weapons, theres also some really fucked issues with enemy blocking, incredibly annoying with arrows where they will just ping off their head because they are blocking way below with their sword

basically dont bother with it and if you want something similar GORN does it but better

I didn't complete Alyx and I almost never open VRchat. Beat Saber and Pavlov have lasted me hundreds of hours, though.

I find it difficult to find music I enjoy playing in beat saber but the game itself isn't bad, I have similar issues with most rhythm games though
