The capacitive finger tracking isn't reliable enough to actually base any gameplay off of it. Plus, you're still holding this thick controller in your palm, so unlike full camera-based hand tracking, you're not going to be doing like sign language playing piano or fine object manipulation with your fingers. Pretty much all the gameplay you get out of it is being able to flip people off, or being able to make *that* gesture, I guess.

Vrchat has a particularly awful integration with the finger tracking that makes look a lot worse than other games using the actual steam skeletal api (e.g. HL:A or neosVR), but it is slightly more immersive when it does work.

3 - The only FPS worth a damn on the Quest store is Onward but it's still shitty. If you Sideload you can play Hyperdash which is really good and has crossplay, so you could join us for the Tuesday lobby if you want. I played from my Quest 2 the other day and preferred it to my Index.
4 - If you have a decent 5Ghz router consider streaming via Virtual desktop. This is assuming you have a good enough PC for PCVR though.

Pavlov is the most populated VRFPS, Contractors and Onward are the next closest.
I think Pavlov has a free beta for the Quest port you can mess around with if you set up Sidequest, but it's pretty limited.
Assetto Corsa is probably your best bet for multiplayer sim racing right now. rFactor 2 is supposedly good too, but I haven't tried it yet. iRacing also works in VR if you want to throw a bunch of money at that.
Any good USB C cable should work now, but you're probably better off looking for a list of stuff that's confirmed to work.
If you mean Dirt Rally 2 it looks fine on my Index, so it sounds like you've got an issue with the way Link is set up or something.

Because generally buying shit on the Quest store when you have a PCVR experience available is a bit "eh" for most people, that and the FB bullshit. If you really like rhythm games I could justify buying it twice, once on Steam and once for Quest (for portable/ standalone), but up to you. Not sure about quick play.
Pavlov and Boneworks you will have to get via SteamVR or the Oculus store since they're not available for Quest standalone. I recommend both, but I thought you were asking about standalone titles. Contractors and Pavlov do have Quest betas on SideQuest however, though they're both shit.
For VD you need to buy it on the Quest store, not on the Steam store. Then you sideload to install the mod that allows wireless vr from SideQuest, and download the "streamer app" on the VD website. Then you're good to go.

For me personally, it's ruined a big chunk of my initial VR experience (-1.5). Until recently I was unaware that it's because of my nearsightedness I'm unable to read a lot of text in VR or even tell apart objects that'd get pixelated. When I wore my glasses in VR I finally started appreciating everything. Take it with a grain of salt, but I'm a very picky person when it comes to something like image quality so for me it was not a great experience.

I got a Quest 2 today and I've played around with it. Overall I'm very impressed by it but it's not quite good enough to replace my Rift S on PC, and I'm hoping I can fix the little problems. I got it working wirelessly in FBT with low latency and decent picture quality on my standard BT Hub (router) with 20-35ms latency, using VD (Virtual Desktop).

Good:

>Better colors and blacks than Rift S
>Sharp and vivid on native apps
>Link/ Virtual Desktop were both easy to set-up and worked great immediately without needing to optimise conditions
>Built in speakers are good - I don't feel the need to plug my headphones in
>Mic is good
>UI is perfectly snappy
>The standard strap isn't as bad as people have claimed. It needs to go over my ears, but it's not particularly uncomfortable. There's a decent amount of pressure on my face, which might be alleviated with a better strap down the road, but it's 'fine'.

The biggest surprise was how well VRChat ran natively, as I mentioned. I was getting about the same frames as I would get on PC. Granted, it's scaled down quest stuff, but I had a 'low' 3D mirror on and it was still holding up.

I think for $300, it's really good. As a standalone headset it's really high quality/ performance for the price. Given that my biggest problems with PC games were the FBT issues, and I was playing wirelessly, I think that's a really compelling offering. Wireless PC VR along with a really good standalone headset for $300 is pretty nuts and I'm glad I avoided the original Quest.

I forgot to mention - the hand tracking is really cool. It feels like a big step ahead of Index. It supports basically a full range of motion rather than the limited and janky finger tracking on Index (where you're holding a controller too).

In terms of practical application, I can imagine getting my Quest out in an airport and sitting down to watch videos without needing to get the controller's out and have to handle them/ put them to the side.

Also, I think Minecraft would unironically be great on Quest and it sucks that it's somehow not on it.

Their pull capacity and aoe shot is strong. If your tank is good you can do aoe shots continuously and can potentially finish a run the fastest with a tri-archer - single tank where sometimes one of the archer swaps to a heal role when needed

Anyone else play Ancient Dungeons VR on their Quest 2? I bought it and loaded it in via SideQuest (not sure if you can launch it in the headset itself like you can with the Quest 1 but you can manually launch it in SideQuest and then unplug the headset and play)
This is a pretty fun game. First person dungeon crawler with voxels and randomly generated dungeons with a boss at the end of each floor and traps and enemies and upgrades to collect. It even has the odd room where it seals you in and you have to fight a few enemies. Got some Binding of Isaac flavour in it.
Still in development though. But it's pretty damn playable.
