Because of the ongoing issues with 3.0 avatars and the fact that we don't know if they will be fixed by Halloween, we're having to take a precaution to make sure the Halloween event goes smoothly.
If you are using an avatar that has complex 3.0 functionality that isn't working because vrchat is broken, please make a video (preferably a streamable) detailing the functions of the avatar. We'll have a video player on the map so that those features can be shown to the judges.
If you need help recording, contact mommy or duki and we'll help you out.

This is the shit I've been saying for a little while now and everyone just says 'muh facebook'. The Facebook shit is awful, if you get hit, but you fucks need to climb out of your hole and look at the bigger picture. VR is still a struggling niche. Facebook are entirely correct in their strategy of a low cost standalone device.

When you make a PC headset, you've instantly limited your audience massively. No matter how good the VR solution is, you will only get people with powerful PCs to buy it. There's a lack of content for VR so even most of this small group wont buy your device regardless.

The goal of Facebook right now is to get VR to succeed. They have a long term vision of domination over this industry that barely exists right now, but will one day be enormous. Right now, they are trying to get VR to take off. This means getting VR into the hands of as many people as possible, which in turn will drive content creation, which will drive hardware sales and the growth of the industry. The Quest 2 is an incredible device at a rock bottom price, so Facebook are absolutely on-point with it, outside of the Facebook drama. It is an excellent VR experience and even offers wireless PC VR out of the box. Hyperdash is an excellent example of a game that I would rather play on Quest than on PC due to its wireless perk (and I don't even need to play PC wireless, since the game looks great and runs perfectly on Quest itself).

Nobody wants to look at the bigger picture and nobody wants to actually evaluate the Quest 2 because they're obsessed with the Facebook stuff. It's frustrating.

Have you reinstalled the firmware of the headset? Grey screen is caused by loss of tracking so if the firmware has been installed properly, the base stations are visible, and the headset is getting enough power, it should track.
Another possibly dumb thing is it might be the proximity sensor inside the headset not detecting you're wearing it and turning off the screen. Cover that up with opaque tape and see if that fixes it.

Anyone done any hardware mods to the quest? I've got a ton of extras and printed parts, really want to remove the retarded fabric cover on it to reduce the weight a bit and make it look less dirty. It was very consistently the master in the cases I saw. The master was the only one looping and was definitely the master due to being able to control the game world settings. When that master left and it hopped to the next person, they were the ones who started getting the looping bug.

We used to play NeosVR every week here, I have plenty of experience in it and have played in instances with a large amounts of people, with and without 4chan, it doesn't work. And besides the player count, NeosVR worlds are extremely unoptimized alone, they're meant for small amounts of people.
VRChat actually has working physics currently built into Unity's engine that work just fine, they have nothing to do with Udon. I don't know what your argument is here trying to compare a game that has physics to a game that currently does not.
