Could be because I'm 6'3, I don't know. I started some game, picked up an item and dropped it. Crouching to get it was not only insanely difficult without seeing the real floor, but also my controllers hit the irl floor before my hand could reach the item in game. I'm also really scared of breaking the controllers and especially the headset. The cable getting in your way is fucked too.

it's going to take a bit of time for you to get your vrlegs. you need to disassociate that you're seeing and what you're feeling first, after you get to that point you can reassociate and develop phantom touch. as for the issues of your controllers hitting the floor, that is one of the drawbacks to the g2 controller design. since the rings are in front of your hands instead of above or around them, there just won't be as much clearance. most games with pickups still allow you to interact from a distance so try grabbing things a bit early

Easiest is using whatever video player you usually use, in the Oculus or steam desktop overlay. You can also use bigscreen or steamvr's desktop theater for a nicer looking room.

If you want to watch anime with other people you can use bigscreen or video player worlds in vrchat. You'll have to transcode the anime yourself and bake the subs, then host the file over http, then copy the link into the vrchat player.

I've heard bigscreen is pretty good for that kinda thing, especially if you just want to invite a couple friends. If you're alone then there are basically infinite programs for that, just pick one that isn't horribly rated and has an environment you like, hell WMR has little theater nooks in most of their default environments, and the built in W10 video player supports mkv and softsub, to say nothing of just spawning a desktop viewer and slapping it on the wall. Can also do this in SteamVR Home (not sure about Oculus Home)

With the G2 even if you improve the performance by lowering the resolution down to the Q2's you'll still get better performance and picture due to it not having compression and latency nor the overhead associated with that. That and the FOV+colors+sweet spot are all better. The price isn't that much of a difference either given that for the Q2 you'd want ear speakers, a head strap, and a cable/better router anyways. I'd say that it's a good option if you don't care about the standalone aspect of the Q2.

I have a 5800x and a 1660ti with 16 gigs of ram. I have the resolution in steam VR at 40% to get 90 fps in AC. Never tried anything VR before, so I have no reference, but 40% still looks good to me. Haven't tried many other games yet. I would never buy anything facebook, even if it was $1 and was the best thing out there.

I'd also like to mention that browsing 4chan with the G2 works well. I can read everything. Posting is just weird, but I made one post and it was based.

I'm using a 970 and typically can't run anything higher than 50%(2160p). The only exception I've seen to that has been Quakespasm VR which isn't a very taxing game. It looks beautiful at 100%(3000p). It's great for watching movies too even at 50%. The main issue I have is that with the old displayport format on the 900 series I can only run it at 60hz mode. Overall still a big upgrade from the OG Vive, especially as I already have the basestations and knuckles.

Yeah, it's still pretty great for Pavlov and Beat Saber. Beat Saber for me runs without hitches and looks really nice to boot. Pavlov only gets rough in WW2 mode at which point I turn down the resolution. In most modes though I can keep it at 50% and stay at 60fps.

The black circle is perfect, but everything outside of the black circle is blurry. I just finished Half Life: Alyx and i feel disappointed. I'm sure it's a good VR tech demo but as a game it has way too many flaws. This game was a major factor in me deciding to buy VR. I feel somewhat scammed.

it wasn't supposed to do anything innovative, but it was supposed to get everything established right and a feature length campaign. An established base for all games to jump off of and consider the base standard in quality.

What's the point of failing the map and no fail mod in Beat Saber and other rythm games? Why can't the game just call me a faggot and let me continue when my hp goes to zero and take half the points from my final score? If you want to get a good score, you are going to be restarting anyway until you don't get to 0, and if you just want to see the whole level, you have to waste time going to the menu, turning on no fail and playing the map from the beggining again.

Way too many puzzles, none of them feel satisfying to complete and the jankiness of VR can turn them into hell. I've gotten killed by mines multiple times even though from my POV i was nowhere near the laser. Also had tiny tracking issues once which completely broke the ball puzzles (could move the cursor/my hand correctly but pressing the trigger did nothing), ended up taking 10 minutes to complete that one.
The fetching quests are boring yet the game throws them at you so many times: here's a power generator or whatever that needs a small power capsule, go fetch it.
If you run out of ammo, you almost softlock the game. The ammo distribution is fucked up: early chapters have fuckall ammos (ran out thrice there), the middle of the game has a ton of ammo (way more than you need) and the end game fuckall ammo as well (would've ran out if not for careful shooting optimizations over repeated deaths). There's also those very fun blue bullet-sponges enemies which make this problem far worse.

I suppose both the puzzles and ammo management would have been less annoying in easier difficulties, but i didn't expect it to be so bad the game would be a chore to go through. Doesn't help that i can hardly remember any truly enjoyable moments the game has to offer.
