So I haven't done vrchat and unity in a long while and I'm just getting back into it and after looking at how some premade 3.0 avatars made, I decided to try and convert an avatar to 3.0. Is it just me or is everything a hell of a lot easier to do now? You can set toggles for things, you could even just forgo the spazzy gesture facial expressions and just bind everything to a radial menu. I use an Index so I think I can more or less skip making a hand layer. Maybe it was because I kept getting tripped up by animators and crap but things seem a lot less stressful and arcane for basic customization.

I use it on more toaster and I still benefit from it. In the few games where I can supersample up to 3192p I take advantage of it to enjoy some crispy imagery, on most games I keep everything down at 2160p, and lower the resolution for other titles as needed. It's really nice for being able to actually read text as in Tabletop Sim as I like playing Kingdom Death w/ friends. Not having a screen door really helps for watching anime in VR as well. I use it with the Index controllers and have been able to enjoy good tracking and finger tracking too. With the FOV mod I'd honestly continue to take it over the Index any day. It depends on use cases I suppose.

If Valve does come out with the Index 2 and includes that neural interface headband they will have my money though.

That is such garbage and everybody who believes that is garbage too. They specifically sent out the dev models for others to review. People not only claim to make videos about it, they had it in their hands when doing size comparisons while talking about reviewing it.
Review copies are out there.

There is an NDA and Tundra Labs does not want it to be review right now. Roughly 1 week before the Kickstarter and 1 day after they sent out the "You can also buy the 3D printed dev version from us!" mail.

I want Tundra to be good. But I don'T want to be burned by a 300,- Kickstarter once more. I do have disposable income, but I'm not ready to burn 300,- in the worst case scenario.

So either I go with the vives NOW, which produce a known result, or I wait for Tundra reviews to drop in (which will happen in August or something).

The biggest problem I have seen in VRC so far is that people get dissapointed by "contracts" they made up in their mind, without notifying the other person.
For example: "This is my crush. I will show affection and that person needs to be with me, otherwise I am dissapointed"
The other person (of course) does not know of this deal, does not hold their end of the contract (from which they know nothing about) and in the end stays oblivious why the other person suddenly became sad, or angry, or cynical.

This is not a problem exclusive to VRC. It is a problem that can be seen with a lot of people in RL as well. Also, it doesn't mean one is an idiot or something similar.
In the end it just means we all have to comunicate better, be more open about things. This could be "I have a crush on you", but this also means "I know you have a crush on me and I like you too, but not like that. I'd love to still hang out with you though".

Let's together strife to be the best being we can be in VR.
