The thrilling conclusion of Spring 2021 Anime Multibox happens tonight. in order to decide which of the ~50 shows airing this season are worthy of our attention, we're going to watch every single episode 1 this week, 6 at a time, in 7 rounds, made possible with some advanced vrchat and ffmpeg technology we've developed over the past two seasons:

It's (a little) less chaotic than you think, since the audio is spatialized from each show, and they'll be spaced out more at the real event. If you weren't tired of all the new FBT solutions coming out, here's another one. This uses 3 smartphones, each emulating a tracker. I'm guessing it's using ARCore/ARKit on Android/iOS, since it's using the cameras to do inside-out tracking. So I guess if you just happened to have 3 compatible smartphones just lying around, you could try this out.

I've got 25 hours on the steam client of VRchat, I've visited countless worlds, I've got 8 friends that I've met with regularly, I haven't been doing anything naughty or barely even swearing and I am still solidly "Visitor".

It's actually just one video player, since vrchat gets weird with more than one player active at a time. I encode all the videos in a grid with this script https://ghostbin.com/paste/v51Z3, and each screen material reads from the video render texture. Each video also has its audio on a separate track, which unity directs to separate AudioSources, which each get spatialized separately.

HLS from ffmpeg does also work pretty well in vrchat, but it's 5-10s latent at best; for prerecorded stuff it's a lot easier to do the encode ahead of time, so seeking still works reasonably.

I honestly haven't tried what happens if you put multiple video players in an udon world yet. sdk2 video players definitely were limited to 1 per world, but I suppose if you were careful enough about the rate limiting and syncing, you might have be able to have multiple videos going in SDK3.

I can no longer log in to VRchat on my oculus account or with my original VRchat account. Both have "Moderator Bans" on them for behaviour that violates community guidelines.

Go into your favorite image editor and arrange your top anime with the help of the layout grid. Then apply that to the included cube*UNITY CUBE WILL NOT WORK*. I would recommend using 3.0 avatars as you can make a toggle for the cube. If you want to make if fancy you can animate it like in vid related.

vrchat's video support relies on either unity's built-in video player support, which delegates to microsoft's media codecs somehow, or AVPro https://renderheads.com/products/avpro-video/ to do HLS and maaybe DASH (and a sadly broken RTMP client). Both will read videos over HTTP just fine though; just make sure your http server supports range requests (nginx, apache, caddy will, notably `python -m http.server` will not). Both unity/AVPro will output the video frames to a render texture, so for SBS 3D videos you can use a shader to show the only correct side on each eye. https://github.com/TCL987/UnityShaders should still work, or I think the Bedroom Theater world has a mode for SBS 3D already. I've got good access to plenty of 3D movies, including the raw BDMV file structures encoded with MVC.

The problem with Full SBS is that the only player that seems to properly handle it is in Bedroom Theater, and it seems to break for everyone but the host.

The rooftop theater can play it and sync properly for everyone, but doesn't properly handle the aspect ratio.

As you probably already know, most 3D movies are ripped from MVC (which encodes the second perspective's data in a separate stream) and squished either horizontally (SBS) or vertically (OU).

The standard for this kind of 3D video exists only for the half encodings, where the two views are squished to fit into a standard 16:9 frame. Half SBS gives each perspective half the horizontal resolution for each eye (960x1080 per eye), and Half OU gives have the vertical resolution (1920x540).

Rooftop's player presumes that any 3D video played will want to be stretched out, and so a Full SBS video with 2 full 1080p frames side-by-side (3840 x 1080 total) is stretched to fit that aspect ratio. That is, any Full SBS video is encoded at 32:9 (two 16:9 frames side-by-side), and Rooftop will correctly split each frame apart and then incorrectly stretch them to 32:9.

Bedroom seems to correctly split each frame apart, and then resize them to fit its 16:9 player. A half-SBS video gets stretched to 16:9, and a full SBS video doesn't get stretched at all.

It's frustrating, because both get it partly working. I want to run Full SBS Dredd 3D, dammit.

The render texture you get from the player is just a texture, so it's up to you to stretch the UVs or otherwise do whatever you want to the aspect ratio in your shader's texture lookup.

Is there a PC VR application that allows me to view stereoscopic images and programs? Think the stereoscopic streaming option that Virtual Desktop has for Quest but for PC instead. I wanted to be able to use programs with stereoscopic features like Citra for 3DS games or the Kings Bounty games with their built in 3D mode.

Open hands is not touching any button, other gestures you litterally do them IRL.

RockNRoll sometimes causes issues though, depending how "fit" your hand is to knuckles "raw" curl sensors is. VRChat is stupid and doesn't use SteamVR calibrated skeleton, so it's got a bit worse tracking than you would get for example in Alyx.

Japanese is the only language that people only partially translate. If you were translating it from some other language like italian you'd be translating the whole thing.

I've been contemplating getting a Quest 2 with stimulus money, after getting a Vive two years ago right before they got silently retired and then Index controllers for it last year. Honestly it's a massive pain in the ass plugging all these cords and the Link Box together. Is the Quest 2 "really" that much more convenient, even if just using something like the Link cable? Because the wire hell and lack of good space in my room makes continued use of the Vive tricky.

The personal space thing is what annoys me the most about desktoppers and it's not their fault. Pic related is a decent example. Here's the same avatar standing the same distance away from its reflection in the default home world, in both desktop and VR.

In VR and irl, a person standing 2-3 meters away is a normal conversation distance. In desktop mode, especially if you're wearing a taller avatar (making the world appear smaller), that same conversation partner will be appear much further away and you'll feel like you want to stand closer so their face/body takes up more of your monitor.

This means inexperienced desktoppers will shove up to the faces of VR users. Imagine someone irl walking up until they're 12 inches away from your nose whenever they want to speak. Please if you're a new desktopper just realize the VR users keep backing away because you're already more than close enough to them.

To go into more detail, part of the problem was that when the ban first landed I asked here for help and I was told to go through VRChat support. But, because of the nature of the ban or something I wasn't actually allowed to log in to the support page, I wasn't even allowed to make a new support account with that email address (VRChat account and your VRChat support account are two different things you see) so I just thought "Wow, I'm fucked".

Everyone knows that PCVR on quest 2 is absolutely unusably bad. It's like looking at a really badly compressed 640x480 jpg and the framerate is fucking awful, sure the panel is updating at 90hz or 120hz or whatever but the IMAGE is going to be like fucking 23fps at best.

The tracking is basically worthless, your controllers lose tracking if they're below your chest or level with your shoulders and the headset itself can barely orient itself in a room thanks to the worthless inside-out tracking system.

There is ONE system that is worth buying and it is the Valve Index.

3. at this moment, each environment is associated with its own graphic preset. So if you set 120fps in one environment, such as the studio, when you switch to another environment, it will be default 90 again. Settings it to 120 in each environments once only needs to be done once per preset.
4. the value to the right of the fps buttons is the current frame rate. When you set fps selection to 120fps, you should see something like 119. If you see something much lower, there is either a problem, or you have set other settings too high (and you are seeing skipped frames).

Note: the guardian showing up hurts frame rate. I haven't tried yet, but lowering the default settings if you increase fps might help.
