Doing some Assetto Corsa tonight at 8PM EDT (~40 minutes from now).
We'll be running down Mount Akina at night with some Japanese Pack cars and mod cars.
Make sure to set up Sol if you want to actually drive at night. You should still be able to connect without it, but it'll be more fun if it is.
May still do some last minute changes to the car list, so get requests in if you've got any.

More like it was always stagnating. Oculus exclusives are hit or miss so you can't count on them. HLA was a big thing that took a lot of time to create and we know Valve, can't depend on them or predict them.
Other studios like Rockstar stopped releasing, because VR just isn't profitable. The initial excitement of VR tricked some into giving it a try and now they're either done until VR becomes profitable or they're working silently on something big that will take years to release, making the current market low with releases.
Smaller devs with less popular titles just fucked off. The only reason the Pistol Whip devs (who previously were making The Gallery series) are still in VR is because they took the Quest pill and began actually making money instead of breaking even or operating on a loss.

Hello, this is the post announcing the event I have planned for spring.

The format is going to be a little different than events I've done previously. For this event, anyone who wants to participate can model a flower or plant in their 3D modeling software of choice and send them to me either as blender files or prefabs for unity. I will take these flowers and place them on a map in vrchat that I'll prepare for everyone to join and take a look at. I'll also create voting options for people to vote for flowers to win in two categories: skillfully made flower and soulful flowers.
The skillfully made category is for models that are well made and the soul category is for flowers that maybe aren't as well made but are nonetheless endearing.
If people want to illustrate, I'll also be accepting and displaying drawings but they probably won't be included in the voting.

The rough due date for submissions is three weeks out: Wednesday, May 12. Any questions or submissions go to Yuru.

Hand Physics Lab is neat but I don't get why I can't pick anything up, it's especially bad in the levels where it's like "Pick up all these tiny one inch cubes" and despite being totally solid they just slip out of your hands like they're made from frictionless jelly. I really don't get it.

Kinect 1000hz tracking actually is smoother on an azure kinect than vive tracking which is pretty cool, but there's other issues with the algo not figuring out your body well and no 3rd party free IK solvers that improve on it.

I'm not usually spooped by the dark but the way that the dark areas in Alyx work really chafes me. Like, in real life in a totally dark room I have some level of nightvision, in Alyx I am surrounded by *magic* darkness which makes seeing things impossible outside the 30 degree cone in front of my off hand. Also the fact that the flashlight being on instantly breaks the laser sight on the shotgun is just perfect.

I don't play VR to put myself in a pitch-black room surrounded by filth. Whenever I want that I just take the headset off.

Just got my quest 2 up and running and loving it (so much so that I'm talking about it instead of sleeping for my nightshift) any hidden gem games I should try or should I stick to the big names for now? Going to pick up Alyx over the weekend.

The Spring into VR bundle is the first humble bundle that's been worth it in a long time, you've got 6 days to pick that up from the looks of it.

Elite Dangerous is an awful game but it's actually pretty fun in VR, however you will need a flightstick with a throttle to actually play it properly. the thrustmaster HOTAS X is your cheapest option in that regard, it does not accept motion controllers at all. the new "on foot" gameplay is not supported in VR, just cockpit piloting.

Skryim VR out of the box is awful, but if you can pick it up for around 20 bucks on sale, then mod it with the hand interaction and gravity gloves mod, it becomes MUCH better, allowing you to pick stuff up like a regular VR games and also have limited telekinetic pull, like in Alyx. Wouldn't recommend the game without it, really.

They're making an RE4 port for quest 2, likely an exclusive. It looks terrible but I can't wait to play it.

No Man's Sky supports VR with full motion control. It's graphically a nightmare though so be advised.
