it's technically available through webXR API, but it is really finicky to get working with steamVR. Mozilla defunded the teams working on desktop webXR, so quest is basically the only smooth way to see webXR stuff. That being said, try firefox/firefox nightly if you haven't already, or chrome canary. Some combination of those and steamVR beta may work.

You'll have a lot of drift if you try to use that setup wirelessely. It's not worth it IMO. Space calibrator with the Quest/2 wireless has constant drifting issues forcing you to constantly re-calibrate. You're better off getting a Vive/Vive pro/Cosmos Elite with the wireless adapter as they are lighthouse tracked and don't have any drift issues or calibration requirement.

24 hours in of 72 hours challenge. Sleep went about as well as expected. The vives screen does not go to zero darkness. So i put my lens cloth to block the light while still wearing the headset. Even with two sleeping pills I didnt really sleep. Someone suggested to do exercise in the morning so I played beat saber when i got up. after that I wanted see how flat games would work so i sped ran half life in about ~2 or so hours. Theres a noticeable delay in the game theater. After that I joined the vox lobby. Then the festival event. that was cool to see the dance performance. After that i did some mahjjooon. now im just chilling in vrc. Using my electric kettle in vr is scary. I should have enough food for the next days. this is now the longest ive been in VR. and VR fatigue has not set in yet. I hope to sleep better tonight because im pretty tired.

No it passes. I had one person like that for me for almost a year but it passed. What helped for me was observing and figuring out how they felt back. Hour 40 of 72 hour VR challenge. I just found out my overlay has an fps feature that makes using the desktop much easier. Before the fps was to low to do thing reliably. Also Im now typing this my my mech keyboard instead of the virtual one. It seems I slept better than the other night. I was doing really bad at beat saber yesterday due to sleep fatigue. Today felt much better as I could actually hit the patterns I could before. Then I wanted to see how fast I could do my redirected trail. I started off slow and gradually push it to a jog. I did 4 virtual kilometers in about 1 hour 15 minutes. The other times we had done that trail it would usually take around 3.5 hours. Now I just have to kill time until NA anime club.

yeah, a good face cover and a travel pillow go a long way for comfort. you can lay on your side because the hole in the travel pillow allows your headphones through and you can loosen your straps a bit so you feel even less of the gasket.

Light hasn't ever been an issue for me, on Rift S or Index.
Sleeping with a headset on isn't the most comfortable thing ever but I actually almost prefer it that way. I get anxious and overthink a lot at night, and the slight discomfort of the headset forces me to relax and focus on that instead of whatever's going on in my head. Sleeping in VR, as a concept, though, is incredibly comfy. Want to sleep under the stars, or in front of the fireplace during a blizzard, or in whatever place you want that wouldn't be possible in reality? Chances are, somebody's got you covered.
Also seems pretty common from my experience for someone to drift off if you've been staying somewhere dark and/or quiet for a while, it's pretty nice falling asleep surrounded by friends.

You can certainly do it better than vrchat does (IKTweaks mod is already an improvement). You inevitably have to trade off some level of fidelity wrt to your avatar's pose matching your irl pose and the ability to have e.g. your outstretched hands and feet match your avatar's hands and feet in first-person. If you prioritize the former, you can have a perfect puppet that copies your irl pose and looks good, but when your stick your viewpoint in the avatar's head your hands and feet rest of your body don't match up. If you prioritize the latter, then you have to match your irl proportions exactly and you get weird stubby leg avatars.

Theoretically, you could non-linearly warp your first-person space to match the mapping between your avatar proportion and real life so you could have avatar proportions and corresponding tracking, but I bet that'd be really really weird.
