Also tried Into the darkness. Index, 3700X, 2070 super, was also getting stuttering on both medium and high.
Game is very similar to Boneworks but I like that they took good parts of Walking dead and Alyx. The guns weren't particularly satisfying but the throwing felt good (even if it had pseudo auto-aim). My main concern is that it felt very slow, and similar to Boneworks I didn't have much fun going through it. The levels feel sparse with too much walking and not enough doing stuff. I'll probably still get the game when it launches if only to support a nice looking VR game but I really hope they put a lot more work into it.

I have both the vive and vive pro (now using an index as my main headset). The sound drivers have always been a buggy headache for me. Every time I to launched steamvr with the vive pro I had to go through the windows sound options (on any computer I tested it with) to make sure it would work. It usually took 2-5minutes of fiddling around to get everything working before I could hop on vr.

The headsets themselves feel clunky to wear compared to the index as well.

The screen seems to be much better than the VP1 given the specs sans OLED colors. The lenses are double element ones similar to the Index. The resolution is a lot higher too at 2443p per eye. I already use Koss Porta-Pros+mod mic and I'll just keep using them.

So I made a moving platform in my world with guard rails, but when I step on it and the platform moves...the camera seems to stay in place (meaning my view point) while I see my avatar riding away on the platform and eventually it just clips my avatar out of the guard rails and back to my view and I fall down off the map.

Pretty new to world building, but how do i fix this? the platform just has a simple animation loop on it that moves it diagonally across the map. How can I make my avatar "stick" to the platform so this weird view shit disconnect doesn't happen?

is the platform moving purely sideways in the XZ plane? you might be able to jiggle it slightly upward and back down in the animation to get the unity character collider (and thus your viewpoint) to move.

For a robust solution you'll have to put VRCStations (aka seats) on the platform and have people sit in them to move with the platform. Kind of annoying but it's pretty much the best you can do with vrchat at the moment.

For steamvr headsets you can turn it on in the settings, but at least for index, there's a 50% chance of it not working due to some weird driver issues.

Tried out that I Expect You To Die 2 demo. It felt a little better to control than the original game, at least on Index. From the demo, it seems like more of the same with a little more story than the first one. I don't expect the story to be anything special, but it should still be fun if they don't mess up the puzzles. Unless it's a lot longer than the first game, I'll probably be waiting for a sale though.
The demo is a quick tutorial, the James Bond styled opening sequence, and half of the first level. Didn't bother recording anything since that'd kinda spoil the experience. I think it's worth trying, especially if you liked the first game.

These puzzle things always are amazing to me from a game dev standpoint.
It's puzzle games that makes you feel smart. But to actually do so is a subtle deft hand of making the puzzles just about hard enough to be challenging but not hard enough to be annoying.
With a lot of little hints of different levels and tiers streamed in the longer the player takes to solve the scenario.

The /vrg/ soccer team got 17th place in the tournament, knocked out by /mjg/ (Mahjong General). Not great, especially losing to mahjoomers, but better than the past 2 tournaments. Since we finished in the top 22 though we get to send one member of our roster to play on the /vg/ team for their big world cup tournament next month.

You're thinking of Out of Ammo. Final Assault was a pretty alright VR RTS but it had one massive glaring issue in that not every commander had a unit of eat fundamental type. There was also another one that was like space bubblegum or some retarded name like that where you inserted floppy disks into machines to make units that had a big issue with not being able to queue up actions. RTS is hard in VR because you don't have hotkeys and only a few buttons at your disposal. Basically limits you to the skill level of only using your mouse.

Pistol Whip feels fine to me. There's nothing wrong with the shooting there, but it's pretty simple. I don't think that's a problem though since it's a rhythm game and not an FPS, and stuff like rewarding you for shooting on beat makes that work.
Against didn't really feel like it did anything like that though. The enemies and obstacles sort of come at you on beat, but it was off enough to not feel right, and there's no reward at all for timing.

I merged the textures using CATS and now the materials don't work when I import the model in unity. The model looks dry as hell and if I attempt to use the material_atlas file(in the materials section in unity) the model loses texture and turns magenta.
