I bought a Quest 2. I'm having issues with my peripheral vision being blurry outside of a tiny sweet spot, which is either in the lower half of the lenses or smallish ring dead center. If I manually hold the headset to my face without straps and just a light force I can get it looking okay but even slight movement using the strap will cause the headset to shift turning things into cataract vaseline vision. Overtightening makes it blurry too. This makes me not move my eyes to look around instead having to move the entire head. I can also see reflections of the fresnel lense patterning at times (especially in god ray scenarios) but even without the rays there is this... this low opacity overlay feeling of glare in my vision or foggyiness. I've tried adjusting the IPD slider to the inbetweens and it only helped a bit. I know the boom arms on the headset adjust up and down to change the pressure distribution across the face but it doesn't keep it stable enough in a sweet spot.


I also had a big scuff on one of the lenses I noticed when I first took the protecting stickers off. It had some pretty strong shearing when peeling so I don't know if it is just residual glue or if it took a layer off the plastic. A microfiber cloth doesn't remove it. Could this be contributing to the problem?

TL;dr
Would a third party headstrap mitigate the bad sweetspot/peripheral blurriness/god rays/loss of focus with movement? As it stands now I haven't take this thing turd of the box in over a month and will probably sell it.

you can still sit down in vr and lay down, vrchat would be ideal or any of the other competitors of the virtual habbo hotel variety, laying down is fine i've tried it in 3 point too and it works just fine, sitting down is kind of meh but doable too
i would be very surprised if we didn't have any people who are crippled from waist down in /vrg/ but no one has been vocal about it so it is rude to pry to that stuff, odds are you're not the only person who can't stand properly that's no reason to go jumping with ropes
we all have our limitations yours just happens to be physical, you'll find other cool stuff you can do in vr apart from racing too busted leg isn't the end of the world
