Map making going well.
Implementing all UDON systems as well as broadcasting test will be on July 26.

Still looking for an EU host(principal) and two EU(camera man). This is quite important and will communicate with more EU soon who may want to do this. But very important to have these for this to work out. NA already has all staff members filled, host, referees, announcers and cameraman.
The OBS broadcasting needs EU


On the mean time, looking towards the thread's generous anons on what the reward should be for the winners.
There will be 4 categories of reward
1st - gold
2nd - silver
3rd - copper
and last - participation

The 2021 Idolfest begins next weekend and for the first time ever we will be holding it during both NA and EU timezones! Schedule:
Friday July 2nd 10 PM PST/ Saturday July 3rd 1 AM EST (NA)

Fucking hell are we EVER going to get a decent solution for VR Typing? It's so fucking slow and uncomfortable talking with people while I'm in VR because the on-screen keyboard (even with XS Overlay) is so damn slow tapping one key at a time via pointing at keys with the controllers.

They're nowhere near accurate enough to map 1 to 1 to keyboard typing directly.

Thinking about it though you could in theory make a swipe-typing-like predictive system from "typing" by tapping your fingers on the index controllers, not directly typing, but miming it and having the software predict what you meant. Pavlov is definitely worth picking up, it's somehow still the best option for a multiplayer VRFPS.
Subnautica was kinda janky in VR last time I tried, supposedly it's a little better now, but the VR mode is still kinda tacked on.
Sprint Vector is fun, but the multiplayer is pretty dead. There are occasional lobbies here though.
Assetto Corsa is great if you're into racing sims. VR support is kinda janky, but I still think it's the best sim for VR right now. It's a little hard to recommend without knowing why you're on the fence about it though.

Honestly that's perfectly fine. My quest version is extremely gimped looking without poiyomi glitter and no dynamic bones, and it's not just the polys. Pretty much every setting is over the hill like meshes, bones, and materials. My normal avatar is Medium rated so this is some fuck. As long as questies can manually enable my avatar and see it that's good enough. Just kinda sucks that I run into quest users (that aren't little shit kids) every now and then that are genuinely cool but they see my avatar as "just some default anime girl"

You have to buy the shifter separately either way, it's just that the TH8A shifter for Thrustmaster wheels is pretty expensive. G29/G920 with the Logitech shifter is the cheapest entry level setup you can get with a shifter. You could easily add it later though, just make sure your T300 that comes with three pedals instead of just two. I think they're still selling both versions.

So I'm trying to learn how to do toggle objects with all this avatar 3.0 stuff. I followed a guide to set up the animation, parameter, expression menus, etc.and it all mostly is working but the problem is when I go into my radial menu then go into the sub menu and toggle the object on...it toggles on correctly but then like 1 second later it automatically vanishes. Basic wip of udonchips casino is finished, just basic layout with the mostly untouched assets dropped in. Can't do anything with the won chips yet but you can buy a golden hippo for 9999.

Turning off the udon game object when not near it would be good.
I've tested this with a pool in my map.
They don't add to the load as long as the whole gameobject is turned offed. You can pace in a decoy object without the UDON in it for toggling purposes.

A simple onEnter and onExit trigger is what I use in an area near the udon system.

Just as an update to this in case someone gets stumped in the future. Literally the simplest fucking thing ever. So everything was set up correctly, my dumbass just forgot to set the animations to loop. Meaning they only played once, thus the object vanished after being "played" once. Set them to loop and now the toggles are perfect.
In my defense I am a big moron and the videos never reminded to set the anims to loop, but they also probably assumed the viewer wasn't a moron and knew that. Woopsie!
