its nowhere near consoomer friendly yet on linux
it works but has issues; overlays basically all don't work so you're stuck with a scuffed vanilla experience
either some recent beta update or nvidia driver update absolutely killed steamvr on my install and I haven't revisited it in about a week

overhead in linux is usually less if you're on a light DE but if you're running games through proton you'll oftentimes have extra overhead just due to translating the DX calls to Vulkan and loading up shaders as you need them
normal pc games are far more usable via proton than steamvr ones will be at least for now

You can still use all those methods. It just goes in your fx layer is basically the only difference. You can use the 3.0 menu to toggle on the gun and also use that parameter to make a second set of gestures work. So your fx layer's gestures will have things like gun=false, righthandgesture=1 in the conditions for your normal fist and another transition to another animation with gun=true, righthandgesture=1 for pulling the trigger animation.
You can also make a chain of transitions that are gun=true, righthand=1 to shoot that goes into gun=true, righthand=0 to cock the gun again and then repeat 6 times or however many bullets there are before ending on gun=true, righthand=1 to click for the empty gun and have a separate gesture to reload it.

Not really. The 3070ti and 6900xt are terrible values for miners so they are scalped a bit less, but it's not as if you can casually go onto Newegg and expect them to be in stock either. It's that or a 1050 which is just below usability level for any modern headset. For now play Quake 1 or something in VR.

As someone who is in North American I used the Falcodrin discord and had it ping me for the cards that I wanted. Best Buy and Newegg usually announce anything ahead of time so you can line up for it. I got a 6900xt by just going to AMD's site when the ping happened and had plenty of time to checkout as the card is are again terrible values that miners don't want. At least I can keep 144fps in H3VR which is good enough for me.

Essentially yes. You can see your individual thread usage in task manager. If you look at that while you are in a busy VRC lobby you'll see the % usage isn't 100% but one of the threads will be almost maxed out. This is typical for most Unity games.

It has to do with weight painting bending points like elbows, knees and such. I don't understand what the fuck I'm doing wrong and how it looks so shit when I enter pose mode to see how it bends. Hey, so, I made this animation to summon an item into my character's hand, and also edited the fingers so they hold it correctly, but when I go ingame, the animation brings the item to my hand, but my hand just stays in the normal default pose with finger controls. How do I make it so it just stays in the animation, holding the item correctly?
