That is true if you're only using your wrists, but you'll fuck them up that way anyway and they will hurt, especially with faster songs.
I do full arc swings and there are quick jumps to hit in faster songs, which utilize shoulder and arm muscles just as well. I also do around 150 squats per session (around 70-80 min)
I haven't really tried similar games (except synth riders but I didn't like it that much), so it's possible that there are more efficient workout games, BS works for me though

honestly cameras in controllers aren't really that interesting to me because i never had any problems with tracking, i pretty much never need to put my hands behind my back and stuff like that , i think quest 2 tracking is more than enough. Yeah the colors and blacks will finally return to being great again. However I think you should give up any hopes of a significantly larger FOV soon. Pancake lenses are notoriously hard to get FOV out of at the same time that you shrink the panels and the form factor. We'll be lucky if Quest Pro gives us Index level FOV, and lucky if the next Index (assuming it's coming out in 1-3 years) gives us larger. Companies will likely prioritize form factor shrinking over FOV expansion in these 5 years.

quest 2 is already pretty great, all that it needs is a little bigger display resolution, oled for good blacks and a bit bigger fov and then it will be flawless.
i am unsure about built in headphones like index has.. they are great for sure but i already own very expensive high end headphones so i just want to use those and not pay for the ones on the quest
face tracking will be there too, soo all we need is cheap accurate full body and i think we can say that vr headsets are now fully mature and then all the progress can just focus on making them smaller and lighter until they can fit the entire headset into a pair of contact lenses that charges by body heat and never runs out of battery but that will take like 50 years.

You'll also want to get some usb chords and usb chargers to charge the 3 trackers separately, because if you plug them into your computer to charge them (as in, you unplug the 3 dongles and plug the 3 trackers directly) while playing VR, things get a little fucky as steamVR will sometimes will use them and you'll end up like a mangled corpse, unable to disable fullbody until you unplug them.

yes and no, if you ever used an arduino before the setup is easy, if not just watch a video and follow along, be prepared it will take a few hours to setup, since it does take some work, but nothing a money couldn't do. plus they keep improving it, it's in active development now, eventually it will be really simple to setup
the downside is that due to chip shortage the orders will be shipping in 2022, that is why i ordering raw components from china and will be building mine from scratch and because i'm a cheap fuck, i will use the cheaper gyro chip so my slimevr setup will only cost me $40.

usually you use software to do this
as you walk around your playspace you'll notice the steamvr devices drifting away from their real-life positions especially towards the edges and this gets worse over time requiring a resync
you can prob find a cheap vive kit and use its base stations with some 1.0 pucks just fine for cheap
2.0s are more future proof but will cost ya more cause they're harder to come by due to stock limitations

I think the reason vrchat is more popular than bigscreen for hosting movies is that despite all the annoyances you have to go through for hosting stuff in vrchat, there's still a lot of friction to get people out of (usually) vrchat and into a bigscreen lobby, and then back into vrchat once the movie is over and you want to go chat or explore other wo rlds. A portal or instance join is less of a hassle than opening another program, searching for lobbies, typing in codes, etc. Most of the ease of use of bigscreen is on the hoster and not the audience as well, so for most people, they'll balk at using a different program, and the hoster will just have to suck it up and use vrchat

I'm not saying it _should_ be this way, but that's why I think it is. Bigscreen is otherwise fine, privacy or botnet-wise. they of course want to to pay for their "official" movie rentals, but they don't prevent you from streaming whatever, or using their syncplay feature on torrented files. Oh, also if you do want to stream videos from your own hard drive, you do need sufficient upload bandwidth. You can also use dropbox hosting like people do for vrchat though.

It is a shame the steam vr home sucks so much; it would be great if that was the sort of in-between social area instead of vrchat. Imagine join a steamvr meetup, then hopping into a portal into an actual VR game with your friends, no lobby codes o shit needed.

It actually won't be like that. Facebook's metaverse product group is not developing "a" metaverse. They happen to use the definition that is more related to "the internet". What they're developing, or plan to develop, is a set of open standards and protocols that will be used for the metaverse, while also developing their own site/app/node/universe within the metaverse. bigscreen is by default p2p, as in the host is streaming their screen directly to everyone else. It's actually pretty neat for small groups as it's low latency enough to play video games through, or just watch somebody play another game. But yes, everyone will see your ip, I think. Maybe bigscreen proxies the stream for you, but you'll still need a lot of upload bandwidth.

However, you can also play videos already the internet pretty sure, i.e. a dropbox link. or even use it in a syncplay mode where everybody torrents the file beforehand and bigscreen just syncs playback for everyone there.

Haven't tried alone yet but the combat is solid and satisfying enough and there's lots of dick around potential with the physics and breakable objects. It has the loot treadmill of diablo (and the aesthetic and even the music lmao). Drift on the quest 2 isn't even bad. I've played vrc until my trackers die without having to recalibrate most nights. It used to be bad with my old WMR and when I tried it with a rift S but the dev of space calibrator really got it working well nowadays. Either that or the quest 2 doesn't shift as much as the other headsets did. Main glitches with FBT has always been occlusion in playspace. Never was able to get my entire room perfect. Either my feet will wonk out if I'm too close to certain parts of my bed or my hip will if I'm right beside my desk but that's just because lighthouses can't track around furniture well.

I looked forward to it and played it with my friend. It was rather disappointing. Same levels, same enemies, same shitty items, same spell over and over. It is really barebones. The foundation is there but the dev is a retarded korean mmo grindcuck that expects you to play for 100s of hours in the same shitty dungeon over and over to level 100. The fact that they won't even bother with mod support or mod tools until after the game is finished just makes it seem dead on arrival.
