Contractors isn't a bad buy. As the alternative to Pavlov it will maintain some appeal here. It also got updates and a playerbase due to Quest support so you can casually play in pubs when /vrg/ don't play.

Yeah, sure

Boneworks has a multiplayer mod called Entanglement that's currently a work in progress, but it's very promising so far. Development seems to be a little stagnant right now, but they have working object/physics sync and even custom playermodel support. Hopefully they'll work on it some more, because the NPC/enemy sync is a little iffy right now.

Skyrim VR is absolutely wonderful if you can spend some hours installing mods for it and tweaking it. Most SSE mods work on it. Not sure how the anniversary edition will impact VR.

I actually am a 30 year old boomer and let me tell you how the future is. The future is crazy and advancement does happen but not in the way you expect.
Back in the 90s we thought there would be shit like laser guns and flying cars and we'd actually bother exploring space. 2022 is coming around now and space exploration is actually in a less advanced state than it was in previous decades, there are no flying cars, though admittedly they're starting to figure out how to do laser weapons.
Meanwhile, some crazy stuff actually did happen. I didn't see cell phones coming. The internet was in early stages in the 90s but nobody saw it developing into the social media hellscape that it became. CRTs disappeared like overnight and that surprised the hell out of me.

The future always surprises you but in the way you don't expect. I don't really think that we'll get something like full dive any time soon, and that's fine. I don't want corporations mucking around in my brain.
What we probably will get is much lighter headsets (which will be a huge deal) and probably a lot of advancements in the AR field.

Flying cars don't have a well established definition because they aren't a well established technology. That said if you wanted to define them you should define them as a subset of planes. They are planes by definition but defining them as just plane is not useful. A flying car is subset of planes that can also function as a normal car. If you have a plane that can drive to the shops on wheels and park in a parking lot then it becomes a flying car. 16GB RAM is fine.
If you upgrade either CPU or GPU, you might want to upgrade the other as well. However, GPUs are hard to get right now, but will be for a very long time. Don't bet on prices going down. CPUs don't need to be upgraded as often these days, but at least you can get them for reasonable prices and have a performance boost.

I'd upgrade the CPU if I had to choose only one.

I'm assuming you already have an SSD. If not, definitely get one of those. Regular M.2 SSDs are like 6x faster in reading/writing than when I bought my early SSDs, and don't even get me started on HDDs.

I had pretty much the exact same setup not long ago. Slow loading sounds like you need an SSD. There are tools you can use to determine what is bottle necking your system, easy way to check is when you lag are you at 100% GPU usage? If not it's probably your CPU, if it is 100% your GPU might not be able to keep up, try lowering the resolution, if your frame rate goes up it's your GPU. But from experience, depending on the game it's probably your CPU that's causing the most issues.

It's bad. All you will do is fight skeletons, goblins and sometimes bats. Combat is a worse and sluggish version of B&S combat (which is actually good). Gooks literally want you to grind hours like a fucking korean MMO to get a legendary weapon which is one of the selling points of the fucking game. I gave it a second chance and played for 6 hours with no fucking legendary or decent weapon drop. Everything in the shops are ridiculously expensive.
