How broken are your controllers? I bound the handbake and clutch to the Y axis of the joysticks (pull down), which works okay.

Steering should be simple, but it'll take a while to get used to driving with the triggers for pedals, since it's really easy to "floor" the triggers and spin out. After a few hours of practice I kind of got the hang of drifting too but it's not easy. If you want full realism you definitely need an actual FFB wheel and pedals.

Was going to get on tonight but I fell asleep a bit and was super exhausted. I know, I know. I'm sorry.

I'm 13 hours in and still not bored of it. It has tragically few levels but they are kept interesting by the AI director and the desire to keep grinding for weapon upgrades. I love using the guns and the zombies with the gore system and all the climbing and crawling they do are fun to shoot.

The questlet infestation and lobby system is bad though. I haven't gotten a single PVP game in yet as the host is always AFK and there's no lobby voice chat to do a basic sanity check. And of course higher difficulties are unplayable as questlets will join with no upgrades and generally play like subhumans.

It's good. Lots of people have picked it up here. Guns are fun to shoot. Only downside is the vive controls are whack. No toggle grip for your second hand and grabbing everything, including gun slides and ammo from your pouch, also uses the grip instead of the trigger so it's easy to grab the wrong thing and awkward to grab anything. Sprint is also a toggle so it's easy to accidentally walk instead of run. Apparently there's an auto sprint but I heard it was only when your gun is down which is obviously useless in combat. Pressing the trackpad and also holding the grip buttons is ergonomically not easy too. Basically all of my gripes come from the vive controller ergo so if you're not on vive it doesn't matter.

Basically dampening is how much distance changes the speed it tries to return to neutral, elasticity is how much force it puts into the movement, and stiffness is how much it resists movement, and inert is how much it needs to be moved to react. Or at least I'm pretty sure. It's all just ballpark shit anyway so who cares just play with settings until it looks right. My setup is pic related. They are two bones per breast and are small, perky breasts.

Has anyone ever had a problem with their unity not importing or seeing blend shapes? Check the modifiers on the mesh. If there are any active modifiers besides Armature (such as Mirror), then Blender will simply nuke the shapekeys and apply the modifier. You should apply the modifier first.
There's an addon to apply the Mirror modifier to a mesh with shapekeys, you can either Google around or ask in the Cats Blender Plugin Discord.

IT'S HAPPENING
Entanglement, the "new" multiplayer mod for Boneworks, is getting proper automatic NPC syncing for the next update.
This means that Boneworks will be having a fully-functional multiplayer mod, with object sync and NPC/enemy sync. They even managed to sync physics properly by abusing joints, apparently.
The mod supports up to like 16 people in one lobby as well.
Boneworks does support custom maps but I'm thinking most of the campaign maps would be a bit of a clusterfuck with many people. Could be fun though

I tried it with my bf, it actually runs incredibly well. They did a lot of performance optimizations to ensure everything is as smooth as possible. For instance, objects aren't synced until someone actually moves them, which means you aren't constantly syncing every random object.
Oh right, and it also supports the custom playermodels mod. Everyone needs to send their playermodels over to each other though (they're not auto downloaded).

You can look in the Community Labs, Random, or New tabs and click on things that look interesting, but it's all a crapshoot and 95% of it is just plain bad. The vrchat devs, in their infinite wisdom, made it so you can only search for either the title or the tags (limited to 5 tags on a world), and not both at the same time, so the search bar is useless.

You judge your own models more critically than those of others. But more importantly, I think you just haven't really found your perfect "thing" yet.
Personally I was always slightly dissatisfied with my own avatars. It wasn't until like a few months ago that finally a decent boy model dropped and I finally feel satisfied.
If you want to get rid of that feeling, look around on booth for stuff that *really* catches your eye, and then start working on it. Maybe color swap some stuff, swap some outfits and hair/ears around.

Unwrap the face to a second UV map, and then bake the texture from the old UV map to the new. This will result in an unmirrored face texture. This is not a particularly easy process, but not super tough either.
Alternatively, just make a second UV map containing the face and use a shader that supports decals or detail albedo and put a simple mole texture on there which will overlay the main texture.

Probably because being mute is like being a dog. People will occasionally find your antics amusing or enjoy your presence but that's about as deep any any interaction with you can go.
