If you want to put a part from model A onto model B, please either do it in Blender, or make sure it's its own self-contained mesh as a whole. Most people upload their own stuff. Many people here kitbash, commission or even 3D model their own stuff, but many others will simply upload booth models as-is. You can buy or "obtain" these booth packages.
You can also just take existing models and port them into VRChat. MMD models are really easy to do this with, almost any MMD you find just about anywhere can be near-effortlessly put into Unity and uploaded.

I know which one you're talking about. You need a shader with vertex distortion to accomplish that. Basically you need a shader that has that effect hand-made by shifting the vertices over time in a sine wave.

Could I get a quick bit of assistance from the anons with more technical skill than me? I'm modifying an avatar in Unity, but this thing is doing something I can't figure out how to replicate. It's doing toggles for clothing and such (flipping between multiple outfits or even just on/off toggles) by running a single animation with the keyframes present and then I guess freezing them in place? I can't figure out how to get the animation to stop though, copying the settings just gives me an animation that plays all the way through without doing anything useful.

Just as an example here, the sandals toggle is a singular animation used for both states, just with two keyframes that set it to on or off. The other toggles (clothes, legtype, etc. but not hairtype because that's one I added) function the exact same way. Only thing I could guess might be the cause is that error message about the transition preview not working, but I don't know how I could replicate whatever's causing that.

It uses just a singular off and singular on state. Each animation file is very basic here and has no capability of freezing in the middle of the animation file.

Here's another animation, the "clothes_preset" which has the "normal" outfit keyframes at the start and beginning, and then in the middle are the swimsuit keyframes. The new Demeo update is p. cool. I like the new FOEs and collecting dogs as allies. That said the boss is horrifying with its armor and really forces you to focus down on everything else before engaging it. Running two bards at once for giving everyone super high damage resistance+bonus damage is nice for all the one shot enemy attacks that show up in the new dungeon.

Usually yes, it is still seen as a bad thing by some people.
Imagine you have a whole bunch of friends online on your list, but they're all on orange. You send a few invite requests but no one responds. You don't know where people are. Some of them are in private instances fucking each other. Some are AFK or desktopping. Eventually you find "the" one instance where most people are actually hanging out. My PC and router are in the living room which will be about 25-30 ft away from my room where I will be playing my Quest 2 wirelessly.

I think they should work fine on the floor as long as they aren't tilted too far up. The reason you want them up high is because then they won't have any other obstructions in the way. If your room is basically empty and you have base stations on both sides, having them on the floor pointing up could work. You just have a slightly higher "risk" of your own body occluding the trackers. Can either get a third base station (can only do that with 2.0 base stations!), or just cope and deal with it.

and knowing what you want is the most powerful tool. I tell people that they need to pick one word to represent their basic avatar. Cat, dog, robot, human, lizard, bird, slut, whatever. You can find an avatar that matches your keyword rather easily, no matter what you look up, and customize it from there. You're not expected to stick with the same model forever but having a first model to learn how you do things with, is always good.
Getting people to help you isn't a bad thing. Everyone learns differently, and the first avatar you do is going to be an arduous process if you do it by hand. Expect to only be able to handle learning a little bit at a time.

It's outdated, but the only thing you need to know is you should be using Unity 2019.4.31f1 instead of 2017. SDK2 is still viable when you're just starting out, but SDK3 isn't too hard either. There's a lot more you can do with SDK3.

The hunting rifle is incredibly bugged. Sometimes the bullets just vanish when you put them in the magazine so it never fills with anything and the bullets in the loops can't be replenished.

Tried out BloodTrail, what a shit game. Only thing it has going for it is that you can cave in enemies faces but that's as far as the gore goes. No limbs to shoot off, only four different weapons, no smooth turning, hand locomotion only. Even Pavlov has more gore than this trash.
