There's 41 avatars (plus a single plane and one directional light) in this scene, all but 8 avatars and the light are disabled in this snapshot though that doesn't seem to make any difference to the memory allocation. It says there's 35 drawcalls for the scene (which is weird as fuck because the average is 9 mats per avatar). CPU is at 16.68ms and GPU is at 2.61ms though CPU is my computer's bottleneck. Not gonna lie I fucking hate computers in general. I have an "optimised" avatar that I use for raves and larger instances that just doesn't have the extra shit on it, has all the meshes joined, and the clothing mats (that would have been separate mats because they're separate meshes) atlased into one mat. With write defaults off you have to push all the shapekeys or whatever you animated back to the default state manually, so while it seems tedious at first on paper it actually allows you full control over the state. Entirely easy and completely doable. You can even make the lightning a mesh so it would be appears on quest. You can do something neat with shapekeys called absolute shapekeys so it would actually look and crackle like lightning. Absolute shape keys you can kindof think of similiar to animating bones with keyframes in unity. You set the "keyframe" and then the mesh will go there for that value. You can make the shapekey very intricately designed this way/ Then just clone the shapekey and add mouth shapes to it too

Okay well here are a few quick things to do to get you started:

First, set up your Quest 2. Just read the instructions that come with it and put it on. They spent millions of dollars of r&d money on making it retard-proof for tech-illiterate boomers so you should be able to get through that part.

If you want to do a bit of unzuccing work you can use https://github.com/basti564/Oculess after you set things up.

For wired play, install the Oculus software on your PC, then just plug it in. From there it will function just like any other PCVR headset.

For wireless, get virtual desktop from the oculus store, install the virtual desktop software on your desktop (its very lightweight), and then follow the instructions to connect wirelessly. Alternatively, you can use Oculus Airlink, which is a free alternative published by Facebook. Your mileage may vary.

btw, wireless performance will depend heavily on how your network is set up.

Silent or ACLS are the big recommended ones here. Silents is simpler if you're unsure how to use them.
Unity standard is fine for realistic shading and worlds but there's better alternatives to it even then. You'll probably not want to use it really.
VRC shaders are designed for Quest really. Very basic and not very good looking

- unplug all the dongles
- plug in ONLY the headset, make sure the trackers are off, and then pair your vive wands.
- leave the vive wands on! from this point forward, if you pair any devices, leave them on and just plug in the next dongle. do not turn off any of the trackers or wands. this will help the trackers and wands "keep" their pairing.
- plug in the next dongle and pair a tracker. plug in the next dongle and pair the next tracker. repeat until everything is paired.

If you do need to remake your project in a different version but already have your avatar set up, clear all the vrc sdk related stuff from it, drag and drop the avatar from the hierarchy into your assets folder to make a prefab, right click on it, and select export package. Exporting it with dependencies will include everything - shaders, materials, folders, everything. Then in the new unity project you can put that unitypackage file into it and put the prefab back into the scene without having to redo all the shit you just did.
