There's a couple of main reasons. First is the FOV is between 90 and 100 degrees for most headsets. All you have is voice and vision, you have no sense of touch or any of the other cues that tell you someone is nearby. People sit in circles and talk to each other like normal, but but if there's a mirror some people prefer to sit in rows and talk "across" the mirror.

Second reason, especially my case, I am much more aware of my body language with a mirror and it helps just like the mirror in a in a dance studio. My avatar isn't exactly the same proportions as me and the IK doesn't exactly follow my pose because it's estimating the in-between points. A mirror helps keep you in position.

Third reason is tons of people in this game are some degree of narcissist and want to fuck their own avatars, so the more they see of it the better.

How do I achieve max comfy in VR? What are some things you do or worlds you go to when you really just want to relax and get comfy?

VTOL is a simlite game, good balance of arcade and realism somewhere between DCS and Ace Combat. Cockpits are mode for VR and are joy to use. Game doesn't support hotas and you don't need it, as VR controllers work perfectly for this game.

Base game has 3 planes:
semi-futuristic VTOL plane, which has multitude of armanents, but feels like it's a flying brick. Can do infantry transport role.

F-26 - which is kinda F-18/F-15, older generation multirole fighter

F-45, which is basically F-35, next generation plane, with stealth, and SUPERIOR situational awareness with AR helmet.

All of them have KINO naval capability.
Game has built in single player campaigns and missions for these planes, which are pretty well made. Additionally there is tons of missions and campaigns for single and multiplayer (PVP and PVE) on steam workshop.

Additionally, there is also AH-94 DLC, which is basically apache helicopter, 2 seat coop (although you could do everything from any seat). It's quite nice to fly with your bro, second pair of hands and eyes really help with flying and weapon operations, as helicopter is harder to fly than a plane and you need to focus more on the flying.

950 is enough to find games in Pavlov for most gamemodes. SND, TDM, PUSH, TTT, Jailbreak and some custom gamemodes all have well populated servers right now and that's on a weeknight.
You also have a bunch of smaller lobbies that could be playing anything.

It can sometimes be an issue when there's nothing between full and empty for the gamemode you want but it doesn't take long to nab a slot.
