I felt forced to delete my original Tweet because it kept getting taken out of context. I tweeted in support of the change 3 minutes after it was announced, because I took it at face value - the expectation that malicious clients would no longer be infesting public B Clubs. I had no idea there would be this tidal wave of backlash against EAC and any idea that it wouldn't be effective. My only real exposure to EAC is Fall Guys - before EAC it was unplayable. After EAC I haven't seen a single cheater.

I've been more than outspoken in criticism of VRC and particularly their lack of communication, which I honestly think is the biggest factor behind the shitshow that we're seeing. There's no trust or respect between the community and the VRC team. The community feels ignored and helpless.

I only want what's best for VRChat and its community, specifically those who visit and support B Club. Nothing more complex than that.

Malicious mods and clients now have changed to malicious 'EAC bypass' clients where people can get their shit stolen with kernel-level mods instead.
Rippers can use out of client methods to copy game assets (by monitoring the VRC cache and the VRC logs). Ripperstore mod specifically never needed to be a mod, it was only one for... quality of life of the users.
Crashers still exist because they were always avatar-based anyway.
Arguably fly clients and cheater clients like that have also been hit; but what happens with these is the same thing that happens to cheat clients for other games; they go paid only to make money and protect their bypass secrets and people still use them. Hell, there were paid clients already in vrc. Ruby for example.

In addition, EAC imposes a performance overhead. Extra CPU usage on a game already aching for CPU cycles; initial benchmarks (pixtured) suggest a 5% loss of frames. This could be way worse once CPU bottlenecks start.

The only "bypass" things I've been seeing so far is sped up footage of the game, or old footage so I'm not super convinced quite yet. Also any retard that installs kernel-level mods deserves to have more than just their account stolen. It's exciting and it's interesting, but I just don't see how even with this HUUUUGE burst and surplus, that CVR can have actual competition against VRChat. They're years behind in development in comparison to how long VRChat has been around, their company is much smaller, and while it might grow in to a nice amount with the people they're getting applying and all the modmakers that want to work with them, the fact of the matter is it'll take months if not years to catch up to a lot of current VRChat features, and I don't know if people are going to want to wait that long, they'll probably just go back to VRChat.

Social platforms stand and fall with the comunity.
Even the most fleshed out systems wouldn't have a chance against VRChat because people wouldn't migrate out of their free will.
This is for many the kick in the but to try out new things. All the while some people even create stuff and content on other platforms, which in turn again gets other people interested.

So no, they won't be a direct competitor right now, but if they manage to ride that wave and maybe even get mor money in the process, they could really be there in 1-2 years.

How are worlds on CWR? Don't care about the exodus going on, just want to know if it has interesting worlds or filters so I can find stuff I find cool. In unity the Y axis is upwards while in blender Z is upwards. Coordinates on your meshes etc are given xyz values and don't automatically convert the direction for the program they're in.
