Get a regular belt and use three rubber bands. More if you want to really secure it. Rubber bands by themselves also works on their own to secure feet trackers too. The more the more securer. Look at how far VRC is suddenly getting now that the review bombs have lit a fire under their asses. Competition is a good thing.
If CVR didn't exist and VRC shit the bed even harder, we would not have any alternatives to move to. That's probably the worst outcome possible. Competition and healthy alternatives are important to not only keep the quality of both games up, but also to provide a haven if one of them suddenly becomes non-viable.
Here's hoping CVR keeps existing and keeps a steady core playerbase, even if it's small.

It's absolutely code stealing if they don't respect the license. Most mods use GPLv3 which forbids copying that code into your proprietary code base.

That particular bug kind-of irks me because it's really just the result of people setting up animators improperly.
Normally when an avatar is reshown it restarts the state machine and goes back to entry points, but with write defaults it actually just saves the state and goes back to where it was
But the parameters on VRC avatars can change in the meantime, such as a person toggling a different outfit on or turning off a prop or changing a slider
If the animator is set up wrong they might get stuck in a badly designed state machine because the parameters got changed while the animator was effectively paused.
Solution: make sure that no combination of parameter changes can permanently break your animator permanently. Make sure your animator can be reconstructed given just some parameters no matter which state it actually is in. Make exit flows or simplify your layers so that they're flattened and not in the absolute state machine HELL that controllers like Gogo loco do.

It's very unlikely that it's code stealing as the codebases shouldn't be anywhere near compatible. But they still don't deserve any praise since they could've easily looked through the mod code and just rewrote it. Not only that, but they once again pushed out broken updates on a friday evening

this is bullshit spread by Tupper for a long fucking time. Of cause they can't copy the entire thing and expect it to work but the inner workings are the same.
Take LFS for example. That code could have easily been incorporated. Hell it was ported to CVR in days. They could have asked the guy for a licensing exemption for years. He would have agreed. Now it's not so easy.
Same for the anti crashers which hook into unity engine code. There is no re-inventing the wheel. They either steal his code (possible), reverse engineer Unity themselves (unlikely) or just don't do anything and the game keeps crashing (very likely).
They could have asked for an exemption but didn't because they just don't care.

Write Defaults makes expression layers easier because you can just put the facial expressions in like with avatars 2.0 and it will automatically just reset your face for you
But of course this doesn't work so well when combined with the animator blend tree system that VRC uses to combine multiple controllers together, so it's best to no longer use it.
You can put a "reset face" animation on a layer above your facial expressions which will basically achieve the same effect with less bugs. The reset layer will run first and reset all your facial expressions, and all the shit below it can still then apply facial expressions without having to worry about un-setting those shapekeys.

It's better, yeah. The lighthouses are just fancy markers. They're reference points that don't move, constantly sweeping the space with lasers. Literal lighthouses.

The devices themselves have a bunch of photo sensors that look for the laser sweeps and calculate their position based on that sweep. Because they're far less complex than cameras and computer vision, devices can fit tons of 'em.

Combined, these properties put Oculus Insight tracking to shame.

The downside is your devices (controllers, headset, tracker) have to be smart as they're the ones doing the tracking, and you need to put lighthouses in your area.

So the good news is I've actually delve into learning landscaping a little on unity and we might actually have something since it's not as bad as I thought it would be.
