The thing is that if you have a pretty avatar, people will give you attention just because of your looks. You can go somewhere, don't do anything or say anything and people will want to talk to you, pet you, and tell you how pretty you are. Others treat you differently subconsciously. I think part of the reason is that female models just have a lot more stuff available to them. I can scroll through the top 100 booths or so and find mostly girl avatars, with tons of clothing options. If you want a male avatar your options are a little more limited, and chances are that if someone is using a male avatar, it's a deliberate choice to make a male avatar, they didn't just pick a random model that looks good.

So you're new to VR. You see a female avatar, but it stands like a man, talks like a man, everyone refers to that person as a man and they don't consider themselves female. This seems strange. Someone who's new to VR or watching from the outside might have preconceptions about avatars based on fiction or predictions that didn't shake out, but it only takes a short time to get used to it. Avatars are treated more like dolls or costumes than representations of the other person. I've just today tried getting back into VRC after a couple years break and I can't figure something out, it all seems to be working fine but I can't search for anything. To start with the search bar is greyed out and unselectable on all tabs, Now I know it only works on Worlds and Social but even on Worlds it is grey, cannot be used. After I open the Social tab the search bar becomes blue and can be interacted with on ALL tabs but no matter what it doesn't actually DO anything. I can go the Worlds tab, enter a search term, hit ok and... nothing happens.

When getting ready to export a model using CATS, what do you select for this one? I know that for head it's head, for eyes it's the eye bones, but in my case the head is literally just the face (separated due to expressions).

avatars without hands = dead simple
avatars where feet are controlled by irl feet = dead simple if you buy trackers
avatars that use irl feet for everything, including controls and interaction = almost impossible

basically you can pretend to be a cripple and set up an avatar where nobody can see your hands, but irl you will still need to hold the vr motion controllers because they've got your thumbsticks for movement and vrchat itself expects those controllers for hitting menu buttons and stuff.

Only other things I can think of is vrchat does support one-handed controller mode for people who are disabled and also supports generic gamepads for the rare people who have ancient headsets that didn't come with controllers like the first oculus rift iterations. So you could maybe rig together something like a DDR mat for movement via feet and so on if steam recognizes it as a gamepad. That sounds like an engineer problem.

tl;dr the avatar part is easy, seen a few rins running around in my time here. The specific limitations you want to apply to yourself are very hard.

For me, it's just the fact that rins route had the most depth to it. She's not the cutest or the most good looking, I definitely did not want to go with her when I saw her in the first chapter and I ended up doing her route last. But it was the only one out of all of them that left me with that lingering feeling of bittersweet emptiness afterward. It had actual build up and foreshadowing, the characters didn't always understand each other because they just did not communicate in the same way. It felt a lot more like how real life people struggle to really understand and open up to one another.
That being said I don't necessarily hold ks in very high regards, there are plenty of other vns that are better and have actual voiced dialogue.

easy to fix, most models just need a slight push back. 2nd image the green-grey is the original model
there's a really high up concave point at the back (red arrow) that i lowered and reduced. orange line is where i reduced the severity of the stomach dips and pulled the torso out just slightly. yellow arrows i lowered the butt and reduced the hump above the butt. i think the major "this looks wrong" was the exaggeration of the spine and being slightly bent forward but once it's brought slightly back and low it looks fine

Currently doing another playthrough. Finished it in 1.0 and 2.0 is already different so it feels sort of fresh. Just waiting for my new cable to arrive before I continue because it is already stressful enough when the spiders swarm you and you can just imagine how horrible it is when the screen goes black moments before spotting one.

So far 2.0 feels much better because you can actually afford buying ammo and other weapons.

It was harder as ammo and guns were more expensive and rare, you also didn't get as big money rewards for quests and the map wasn't split up into zones. 2.0 economy and zones already feel like an improvement. I haven't gotten far at all into the story yet but the start is slightly different too so I assume they've changed the story around somewhat too. 1.0 ending was cool so I hope they haven't changed it around too much.

If you played it long time ago, then keep in mind that current version of the game is pretty much the entire different thing. You get a base that serves as a quest center, you get to purchase equipment, you have your own little barrack where you can maintain your equipment and do all kinds of autism shit like sorting your trash on shelves. If you played current version and didn't got into it, no idea what kind of tips could I give you. Prepare well for every time you go out exploring, i guess? Trying to figure out what the hell is going on is pretty fun, too.

Uh, sorry, but I don't think you can hate on STALKER for this.

In Shadow of Chernobyl, you can't even repair weapons AT ALL without mods, and in both games afterwards you just talk to an NPC and pay them to do it. Why are you making up stuff about STALKER 'overcomplicating everything'. If you're basing this entirely on weird autistic mods for STALKER, it's your own fault.

I don't play it very much because it's unironically not enough like STALKER. There aren't enough friendly NPCs playing guitars around campfires. The monsters are all shadow people and shit, instead of interesting designs.
Plus, it's sort of like the opposite of Tarkov on the "Stalker inspired game" spectrum of being way too focused on 'anomalies' and 'monsters' with not enough fighting real humans with guns, wheras tarkov is all fighting real humans with guns and no monsters.

It's not just a perfect replacement for my favorite game series, so as fun as Into The Radius is, it'll never draw me to replay it nearly as much.
