Couple Qs since I got into sideloading shit recently.
1) How's the battery life when emulating PS1/PSP-and-earlier shit?
2) What are the controller options? Touch has no d-pad so that makes it shit for a lot of classics. Can you pair bluetooth controllers like a Dualshock or are you stuck with USB-C -> USB-Mini/Micro adapters?
>>399138224

I was playing some Robo Recall Unplugged on my Quest earlier in the week. Decided to boot up the PC version since I've not touched that since it came free with my CV1. Man, night & day difference on the visuals. Game looks fucking great even up against modern VR titles.
It also made me realize how badly the Quest version suffers the lack of muzzle flash from your weapons. Too bad most modern VR games coming out build with the Quest in mind, and the PC version is just that version but with possibly a less aggressive LoD and slightly higher textures.
How's Questie ItR? Might have to migrate since ol' 970 isn't cutting it more and more with every passing day.

Just recently started playing 2.0, is finding this level of loot common at all? Coming from 1.0 this seems like a goldmine.
Also is there a name for the thundercrack events at night that spawn new enemies? Does it always occur? Or only if you've cleared out the area you're in?
>>399158702
>Also is there a name for the thundercrack events at night that spawn new enemies? Does it always occur?
Enemies spawn from those broken uh, rift thingys? If you hear a thunder and enemy appears, then you can also hear zapping noise when you're close to the source anomaly. Follow the bzzzzzzzzuuuuuuuuuu, then shoot whatever black threedimensional ink splatter you see
Loot goes even better than that sometimes.
>>399158881
Ah right, the spawn seemed fairly far away so I wasn't sure if it was environmental.
>>399158702
I think that is one of the stashes that you find notes for which tell you where to look
After you take the items they won't respawn
>>399158702
it used to have an ak74 in it before it was nerfed to that, but yeah some stashes are pretty good though manually placed look like that do not respawn with the tide
>>399158702
>thundercrack events at night that spawn new enemies?
that's the rift. it's aoe spans the entire section of the map. for example the whole village, the whole construction site etc.
>is finding this level of loot common at all?
pretty sure that's a one time stash
>>399159183
I wondered if it was but never found any notes, need to go back there to loot out some of the other houses, kinda hightailed it out of there after quickly breaking the rift not realising the respawns will stop.
>>399159252
That'd of been pretty fucking useful. Just go sec level 2 now with 7.7k, however I'm a hoarder and a jew so I hate to spend my money on rifles. I never bought a single rifle in 1.0, only my glock. I think I amassed like 30k before spending a bit on ASVAL ammo that I never used.
>>399159546
You can just get the scavenger mod if you want to not spend money
>>399164338
I'm more frugal than anything. I like having access to everything, but only actually buying it if the situation is dire.
Also I presume the 2.0 world timer is slower than the 1.0 timer? At least it feels like that. I was a big fan of taking things as slow as I could in 1.0 and was worried how I'd fare with the 2.0 tide system but it doesn't seem too bad so far.
I wonder how much money they make off of these shitty porn VR games

Watch this for sure- however, it's missing the changes of a recent update that allows 'active radar' missiles you require you after you notch or terrain mask against them. Be aware of that as you're not safe until they hit the ground or you can get out of their small seeker cone.
The biggest thing to know is that terrain masking = the safest option against radar missiles. Stay low, and use the situational awareness of the ARAD page's HUD to get close enough to long range radar to use your weapons.
Against IR missiles, you won't get a radar tracking warning, so it takes some vigilance. Your RWR will warn you of the launch and after a bit the incoming missiles, but it has blind spots and the incoming warning can be delayed. Be vigilant when flying low over enemy positions. Luckily, avoiding IR missiles is VERY easy- just reduce throttle as to cut your afterburners and launch a few flares.

What the fuck is up with Fixing a Leak in Into the Radius? This seems like waaaaaaay too many enemies for the level of gear I have access to. I'm not even allowed silencers so stealth isn't really an option either. Am I pretty much required to get that shitty 9x18 SMG to have a chance at this?
>>399335069
There's a free Kedr in the water to the north of the map, near a red wheel sticking out of the water and a circle of rocks. You could also get the Glock that's on top of the tanks at the motor depot (where you got the film) on permovay route. They're significantly better than the Makarov and Tokarev because they hold more than 8 shots.
That mission isn't actually difficult though. Just wait for the one in the Factory main building.
>>399335572
I did buy the gun that allows 18(?) bullets per magazine, but just the dudes that run up to you take five shots or two blasts with my shotgun and there's what, three of them there? That's on top of the dozen cops hanging around
>Just wait for the one in the Factory main building
Wait for the what in where? I'm completely new to this game
>>399335572
>Find a random gun in the water to play the game
This is why into the radius sucks
>>399336510
There are notes telling you it is there, but you can just buy it if you want. You can complete the mission with a Makarov if you're not shit at the game.
>>399336245
The factory is the third map. It's much more difficult. Like 100x more difficult than what you're on now.
>>399336791
Oh I see what you mean. I thought you meant I should wait for something at the Factory to help with the mission I'm on like a dummy.
I just don't get what I'm what I'm doing wrong because no matter where I try to enter from I get swarmed and that situation is neither possible nor fun to handle.
>>399337147
You're just bad at games, probably.
>>399336245
It's easily doable with a 9x18 pistol, just bring some extra ammo. Aim for the head if possible, everything except fragments(the ones with cores) take extra headshot damage. Shoot the first few from range then you want to get into the village ASAP to kill the buzzing rift so it stops enemy respawns.
>>399337517
How fast does it spawn enemies? I was picking enemies that kept crawling up my asshole off for a minute or two and then had 6 or 7 cops on me
>>399338207
Whenever you hear thunder, that's the rift spawning enemies.
>>399338372

You have to roll the plane then pull up. It's strange that two people recently have never seen a plane do this in their life and think they turn with the rudder.

Probably years out, there's still very few proper porn games (counting out copy-paste rpgmaker games), let alone 3d ones.
We only have some lazy VR support from other "games", Poke Abby the abandoned demo and barely a game, and then there's modded Skyrim and Sims 4.
Whatever the first one is, I really hope it's not cel shaded.
>>399427624
And what's wrong with cel-shading?
>>399427935
It fails at trying to replicate 2d artstyles, they look very off in 3d without tampering. I'd seriously prefer a VR game use cardboard cutouts over cel shading.
>>399428609
Oh, you are that guy from before. I remember you.
But haven't you been btfo? The conclusion of the last discussion was that "anime-like" artstyle can definitely work in 3d.

There's a reason why CG in anime trying to act 2D is frowned upon.
You and many others don't mind it for the lack of a better option, I understand, if devs had a magic drawing filter for every game you would be repulsed by this cel shaded look too, but we don't live in that reality.
I'd post the webm of someone looking around a 360° anime drawing with a girl and you on a bike to illustrate my point but I can't find it.
>>399431278
>There's a reason why CG in anime trying to act 2D is frowned upon.
The only problem with CG in anime is low budget. If you spend the same amount of money on hand-drawn stuff it will look equally as bad. So it's not a fair argument.
>if devs had a magic drawing filter for every game you would be repulsed by this cel shaded look too, but we don't live in that reality.
I don't even understand what are you trying to say here.
Just look at this webm for example, and try to tell me that it doesn't look at least half decent.
The point is not to create literal 3d anime, just an appealing art-style.
>>399432249
What is this from?
>>399432249
Even the best looking 3D anime looks off, so not really.
The point of this style was always to translate anime into 3d games.
Imo, the best options for "anime" games Final Fantasy style or Kingdom Hearts or Mega Man Legends or Dragon Ball Origins, outline shaders look especially bad for this purpose so ditching them is necessary.

Flat Adult-games mostly suck as it is. It doesn't matter if it's Jap or Weg, the blending of porn and videogame rarely produces something greater than the sum of it's parts. Most of them fall into one of the following:
>3d Animation viewer with no gameplay
>Visual novel that barely counts as a game
>Platformer with gameover 2d animations
>Shitty RPG with easter egg hunt for CGs
>Text-based erotic CYOA game
>Garbage tier asset flip with some nude character models included
We already have some VR examples of the first two and I can't think of how VR would meaningfully improve any of the others as they are. Some adult games do have mechanics that integrate porn in a way that is satisfying and addicting but many of those use a third person perspective, some are text only and I can't think of any good ones that are fully in 3d. Translating those successful mechanics into VR is a lot tougher than just adding some titties into Skyrim. Worst of all the only thing harder than making a good adult game or VR game is justifying why you should try to do both when VR is still niche and a lot of people simply do not pay for porn.
>>399436464
Bad and good are subjective, and 90% of /v/ would agree that that style is great and underused.
>>399440263
why pay for some shitty game, or even spend time pirating it if you can just go to Just H Party and catch yourself cute mute to fap to in 10 minutes? Porn games will not have this level of interactivity until we get general AI.

A asked about the low fov multiple times and anons told me its ok, almost same as other hmds. Thinner padding will get you a couple extra degrees.
First time Im hearing about audio problems.
>>399612316
I'd recommend removing the FOV spacer that the V2 comes with. The V1 had a really chunky facial interface, but the V2 makes that chunkiness optional and gives you a much better FOV. Horizontally testing it in the SteamVR Home FOV room I get 88 degrees horizontal vs. 91 degrees with the Index. Only use the spacer if you wear glasses or something. If you get the V1 for whatever reason at least 3D print something like https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4700782 and attach an aftermarket pad.

>>399615819
Vrchat is filled with the trash of mankind. Sims are the peak of vr experience anyway.
>>399615819
I believe you can make every game support hip tracking to a degree with natural locomotion and a tracker. It's more so that it just decouples your head and waist so you can do stuff like look forward, turn your head, and still be going forward without needing to adjust your stick due to your head orientation changing. If you're hoping for something like being able to actually lean and corner peek though, then you'll be disappointed.
>>399618056
>It's more so that it just decouples your head and waist so you can do stuff like look forward, turn your head, and still be going forward without needing to adjust your stick due to your head orientatio
Of all the VR games I've played, only Serious Sam bothered to offer a solution to this, which is playspace-based orientated movement, rather than only HMD or controller-relative. Worked great for me since I generally just face the one direction when VRing shit that doesn't need me to physically move about.
Also it's been awhile. I need to host a Sam night or some shit this month. Can even let pancake users in to fill a lobby up for bro-op shenanigans.
>>399618858
Some games let you map your movement orientation to the controller you use for it instead of your head, but while some people like it I sure don't.
The decoupled waist and head is a small thing but it adds a lot and you start to really notice its absence if you get used to it and then try without it.

>>399601879
>+Ican use index controllers and base station
Yeah I thought about doing that too, unless I actually did my research on what I need and how it works, and dropped that option immediately. As for WMR you're never going to avoid it on a WMR headset ever. No it's not normal to get as hot as it does. FOV is decent I guess. Center of focus I meant to say the sweet spot where the picture is clear. Meaning you can't really look around with your eyes and see shit, you have to keep your eyes in the center and move your head instead. The G2 needs a better GPU than anything else almost because WMR eats your performance and the lenses are incredibly high res. The audio is pretty good yes until you start having issues . Every HMD is a POS with cons yes. I wouldn't buy anything facebook or chinese ever under no circumstance. The G2 is pretty decent for it's price (for simracing at least), but when you add lightouses and other controllers, you might as well buy an Index at that point. And if you're buying an index, then you might as well wait for a new one. If you don't want to wait then I GUESS the G2 is DECENT on it's own for the money, but it's not worth it investing in lightouses and other controllers.
>>399612316
>VR has brutal gpu req, it has nothign to do with g2
Yes it does, because WMR + the lens design. The new HTC headset for example is more GPU friendly than the G2, when in paper it shouldn't be. The low FOV is alright I guess, but those other shit eaters are comparing it to facebook garbage. I just put it in there to shit on the G2 as much as possible, because as soon as I bought mine I realized I should have went for an index, regardless of how much more clear the picture is. Although as I said at this point I wouldn't get an index but instead wait for something new to come out.
But hey that's just my personal opinion. If you don't want to wait, or are an adult with a job that can upgrade once the new better headsets are out, get a G2.

The Deep Rock Galactic VR mod lets you use trackers on your feet to kick things around. It's genuinely useful with some missions like egg collection and point extraction as you can keep your gun out while dribbling alien eggs towards the mule.
>>399631602
I bought Vintorez the very first second I've saved up enough money, and I was sticking with it until the end of the game. I liked it for fun and feels, but to be entirely honest, good old AK is just plain better, more versatile, easier to handle in panic mode, more useful in situations you weren't planning to end up in. VSS is only good for long range and optimally without being detected, as expected.
Still, it's a cool gun and it makes you feel cool, so if you like it all that much, go for it.

I think that lighthouses and valve controllers are always worth investing in, simply because you can use them with the Deckard when/if it comes out due to all lighthouse gear being forward compatible.
Waiting however is dumb when the Deckard hasn't even been announced yet and could easily end up like HL2 Episode 3, L4D3, and numerous other Valve projects that get canned partway through development. The best move right now IMO would be to just get a Quest 2 cheap and get rid of it when something better comes out rather than not having VR at all.

That sound extremely crappy again. Is this normal with other hmds too?
>not worth it investing in lightouses and other controllers.
Ok for now I only consider a g2 alone with a new gpu and wait. Or maybe not even that. Vr is the only reason I would upgrade.
>Yes it does, because WMR + the lens design. The new HTC headset for example is more GPU friendly than the G2, when in paper it shouldn't be.
Is wmr such a performance hog? With v2i think you no longer has to start it up. Why would lens design make it more needy than other 2kx2k lenses or even the vives 2400x2400? Sorry but I can't find any info on this.
You really make it sound like it's a trash hmd. Not even that cheap anymore... Atleast here. Maybe I will try to grab a used cheapo g2 or q2 for now and invest more heavily into a hmd the next year when the new gens debut.

>>399663689
I mean I still had a lot of fun in simracing with it regardless. Even though I can't get stable fps even with a 6900xt. I don't know if it's just mine that gets hot. The sounds problems by the way I'm exaggerating, it's just cracking noise when moving the phones, because they're flimsy pieces of shit and the way they're attached to the headset is not that good. When they're situated in place they sound good still. The sweet spot is normal with other hmds, although I don't know to what extent. Looking at reviews for newer or more expensive ones though, they have better sweet spots, that's why I'd say wait. An example of WMR being shit is opencomposite, which bypasses steam vr and WMR and uses openxr directly.
https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/-/tree/openxr#downloading-and-installation
This bitch alone gives you 5-10 fps more, and it can go higher. And 5-10 fps is a big difference for VR, since you always want your FPS to be locked at what your refresh rate setting is. With the G2 for simracing I have it set to 60hz and I need 60fps at all times. If it drops to 55 it's ass. This opencomposite shit is only for a few simracing games though, and using it you use some other functionality with the controllers and shit. I don't know what v2i is. As for lens design I'm not some nerd and I don't remember, but something about barrel distortion. Proven by the fact that the Vive Pro 2 has higher res lenses, but performs better.
It's not really a trash HMD still. Better than facebook shit at least. A used cummed on headset I personalyl would never get, but if you must, at least make sure you're getting a v2 and not a v1 G2. I'm waiting for the jewvidia 4k series GPUs too so I can get rid of this dogshit 6900xt as soon as possible. And when a new good headset comes out I'm dumping the G2 asap.
If you're not that pressed about money you should probably get a G2 and upgrade in 1-2 years when something new is out.
Does anyone know why quest 2 virtual desktop is considered unpiratable?
How exactly the DRM works?
>>399666571
Also usually people would recommend a Q2 instead, beceause cheaper and who the fuck knows why else, but me personally I can't. Becuase I haven't researched it, and also I go by the fuck reddit/facebook/etc rule. All in all if I had to rate the G2 I'd say it's a solid 6.5/10. Like it's shit but not that shit. Probably worth a buy if you're not a poorfag that will breakdown in tears in case you end up being disappointed.
>>399666853
I recommend the q2 and pico to people who don't yet know if they like vr. Its a cheap investment and if one doesn't like it, the demand on the second hand market is there and its something one can gift to a nephew, where people interested in a Pimax, Index, G2... wont buy second hand and its nothing you just give to a 13 year old

guys I really really ttried to make sense on the vr headset options available but it just got me more and more confused when I looked on some troubleshoot/setup guides for each one
I basically just want to do two things
1. play cracked/pirated games (without steam), I mean the real games are important like project wingman, project cars or skyrim vr I do not care about apk games at all
2. watch occasionally vr porn
It does not need to be the absolute best hardware-wise but the easier the installation the better especially for those two requirements I posted
what would you guys recommend?
I just can't get my head around it

you'll be surprised
anyway, there are two headset options that matter (aside of simfag-only reverb): one is index, another is quest 2. You should get quest 2
>3070 so I don't really care about the hardware requirements
Should we tell him, bros?
>>399687943
>anon buys gpu and it sets him back so hard he can't even afford games anymore

you monster. also, 3070 shouldn't be all that bad, most games will run at solid 120 and steamvr always has a resolution slider for more problematic titles
contractors star wars
>>399688453
Assuming Q2, solid 120hz is just not happening in 95% of the titles with 3070.
Unless you push the res way below "native".
Even at 90hz, you would have to go below it very often, if not close to always.
>>399687772
thanks for the info, but the quest 2 seems to need all that facebook fuckery, and apparently you even need to put on a credit card wtf. Does Oculess even work anymore?

>>399689141
>you are kidding right the 3070 was the most expensive card buyable at the time I should be getting 144fps on everything maxed out
Q2 "native" rendering resolution is 5408x2736, that's almost 15 million pixels.
For comparison, 4k is just 8.3million pixels.
VR is the only valid reason to upgrade GPU's at this point. For everything else even 3060ti is close to overkill.
>>399689571
>VR is the only valid reason to upgrade GPU's at this point
Which'll become a moot point once foveated rendering/VRS is standard.

>>399688846
Noice. Contractors is doing what Pavdon't
>>399690029
It would not. VR graphics are very "barebones" compared to normal PC games.
The 30-40% (best case) headroom from foveated rendering will be eaten by the devs so fast, you wouldn't even notice.
>>399689571
This really fucking bothers me because the games I play aside from VR are HOMM3 and Diablo 2 (non resurrected). Faggot VR is the only reason i need the top best GPU and it's still not enough. I fucking hate VR.
>>399690095
Imagine how pixelated your PC display would be if you'd stretch it enough to cover your entire field of view, this stretch is pretty much what VR headset does. No wonder resolution is an important thing like that. That being said, you can crank it down and render in more reasonable resolutions - of course there is a image quality drop but hey, first gen VR was pretty much fullHD and it was just as fun as it is now.
>>399689141
Index it is, then. That'll be $999, but you get the best package possible.
When the fuck is Pavlov getting updated jesus christ
>>399690530

depends. Skyrim with 8K textures, enb and dylod with 250% upscale was the first time I saw my old trusty 1080ti stutter
>>399690749
hmm but won't I need steam installed then?
I don't ever use steam and play pretty much only offline games and most of the are cracked for convenience
>>399691025
Most of those 8k texture mods for Skyrim look worse than a AAA game's 2k texture.
>>399691208
You'll need SteamVR to play any game on Index, also any game on WMR, and many non-native games on Oculus. SteamVR is the most commonly used system in games, even Oculus runs most games through SteamVR, only some games are running native Oculus implementations.
I don't think you'll find what you're looking for.

It should be known that VR has some of its own tricks to help with scaling, such as single pass stereo rendering, which don't make it as huge a jump as one would think if the developers properly optimize. But VR is still crazy demanding. Going for high res VR HMDs is like buying a 4k monitor when they were first starting to come out and make the rounds. GPUs struggled to properly meet the computational demands.
If the next gen of GPUs are truly as insane a jump as it's looking and something like the 4090 is 80-90%+ the 3090, we may be at the point where GPU power will catch up with VR demands and run things comfortably even on demanding things. Especially considering foveated rendering.

>>399707226
play with friends
its best to be spooked by friends
>>399707207
I wouldn't be optimistic.
VR needs physics, good physics with a lot of objects is only possible on gpu.
VR needs lighting, good dynamic lighting needs raytracing which is on gpu.
VR needs to shade a lot of pixels, that's work for the gpu too.
Add to that high refresh rates and you will soon realize that it doesn't matter how much power GPU has, VR could always use even more.
>>399708017
Of course we can always use better, even on flatscreen we still need 'more' when it comes to something like 4k Raytracing. But just because we don't have the absolute peak of something doesn't mean it won't look and play 'good' or at least feel like we don't have to make massive compromises to be playable.
Raytracing, I'll give you in that unless there's some kind of breakthrough to offer absurd performance savings, it'll be a while till we get that in a practical manner for VR. But we'll be more than capable of making high quality, good looking games which also can be driven without insane compromise if we have GPUs that're going to get 60%+ gen on gen performance from what we have now. Maybe not running everything on maxed ultra at above 90hz, but we won't have to crater settings or spend a long time tweaking individual settings. Hell, even MSFS, which is probably the most taxing VR game around, should be runnable at 75-90FPS with good settings at G2 levels of resolution on the highest end cards if they got that big of a jump. More if you consider some people are getting 60+ with DLSS or foveated rendering already.

>>399710786
You don't know what you are talking about.
Alyx is prebaked to hell, has shit physics with objects phasing through walls and is still VERY hard to run if you disable the dynamic resolution stuttering gimmick.
I don't think even 3090 is enough to run it at 120hz native Q2 res.
>>399711165
>you're not allowed to use all the tools at your disposal to make VR look good
What are you on about? Alyx DOES look good, and doesn't need a beast rig to do it.
>>399709727
Too much cynicism is bad for you anon.
I have a 3090 TI running a headset which is dual 4k per eye, more like 5k by 3k after barrel distortion at 90hz and it runs almost everything I throw at it shockingly well with foveated rendering to tack on another 20-30% performance. Maybe not maxed ultra or MSFS, but the majority of stuff I'm running on higher settings fairly comfortably and they look good. And even if you're not taking leaks into account the node jump from Ampere to Lovelace is ridiculous, plus AMD's own MCM design. They would have to screw up to not have a gigantic performance jump.
>>399711507
I hope so much that the flagship gets it 48 Gig of VRAM, that would finally justify getting a new gpu
>>399711337
Alyx is just smoke-and-mirrors game created by the best devs in the industry. Once you start looking closely, illusion breaks instantly.
And it still needs a beast rig.
I'm all for solving technical problems creatively, but unfortunately it's just not possible with the state of the game industry.
>>399711507
>Too much cynicism is bad for you anon.
I'm just realistic and know what I'm talking about, because I'm a graphics developer myself.
>have a 3090 TI running a headset which is dual 4k per eye, more like 5k by 3k after barrel distortion at 90hz and it runs almost everything I throw at it shockingly well
Post rendering resolution with framegraphs. I don't believe you.
"Everything runs well" usually comes from people with low standards, who just refuse to acknowledge obvious issues.

>>399712527
>VR at 144HZ in with 120fps
Refresh rate and fps should be equal for VR.
>Could you post a rendered image of a scene you expect to run
Depends on the requirements.
With a static scene you can just precompute (aka prebake) everything, so it's not that much different from just rendering models with basic textures.
For truly dynamic scenes that is just not possible.
I'm personally consider interactivity to be most important, the graphics are second.
>>399712464
>You do realize that's what video games are, right?
Just like I've said, I'm all for solving technical problems creatively, but, for most devs, that is a lost art at this point.
>>399712276
>Muh cynicism is just being realistic
No, you're just a retard setting completely arbitrairy standards like>>399712464 has pointed out or not looking at what some other people have benchmarked. I'm not going to post a bunch of graphs just for your autism and rebenchmark all my games, but I have already when I was dialing in settings. Even more intensive modded maps on Pavlov and Contractors are smooth 90hz on high to max, Project Wingman's around 75, with some small dips to 60ish, on a mix of medium and high, same with modded Assetto Corsa. VRChat's inconsistent as hell and can still be murder, dipping into 45 or lower on heavier PCVR worlds. Worst I saw was about 30.
Give me another 50% and I'd be doing great everywhere but the most demanding VRChat worlds.
>>399713502
I am curious about what you expect to dynamically run in vr and would consider good looking, can be a prebaked static scene.
>I'm personally consider interactivity to be most important
so low poly with great physics and if possible interactive ray tracing usage before 16K texture pack high poly meshes walking simulator? Fair enough, but still curious, because personally I think the current state is pretty breath taking, especially with itr, modded skyrim, blade and sorcery and alyx
>>399714401
Don't really give a shit. I'm 20 times more competent than you.

>>399714640

Number of vertices doesn't really matter that much with the current hardware.
>I think the current state is pretty breath taking
Well, I guess I'm jaded then. Alyx is so-so, but everything else you've mentioned is just not that good. Especially if you consider the potential.
>>399715561

You think VR games grow on trees?
As long as cattle like you are fine with eating garbage, they will keep producing low quality fodder.
The games are objectively trash. Like you have to be braindead to enjoy 99% of VR games.
Things will only change if people of extreme competence and extremely high standards change them. Cockroaches like you don't help and only make things worse.
> VR has to be perfect with SAO magic technology or nothing
They have to be the best they can be. And we nowhere near close.
Until then we shouldn't be satisfied.
>>399717305
And what is this high standard supposed to look like. Give examples instead of just being a high horsed critic
>>399666571
Well I like to spend my money smart. I am not rich but I can afford to get myself a good vr standard pc now and a hmd.
If G2 wouldnt go up in price and could get one for 400-450 I would do that right now.
Thx I think I will go with this option but first I will wait for the 4k series release. I hope the prices will not go full retard. Eth merge is happening as well and new amd cpu release at the end of month. I believe 3090 levlel gpus going to fly for around 700 pretty soon.
Hell if the 4080/4090 is that strong and not over 2k I will get one as soon as we have other than FE versions.
Found some vids on the g2 sweet spot and its trully small and the edges are very blurry but I guess you can get used to moving your head instead of your eyes. Not ideal but usable for the price range.
>>399718127
>high standard supposed to look like
Hard to tell. Well, it's not about graphics for sure. So I think it is better to say "supposed to feel like".
The game has to feel alive. And it's not about realism too, it just has to be believable considering its own rules.
If you just look at current vr games, it feels like everything is made out of cardboard cutouts. There is no soul, even alyx, which many regard as the best vr game, is like that.
VR is the ultimate artistic media, considering its potential, we are just jerking off.
>>399712276
>And it still needs a beast rig.

>>399720752
By default the game uses dynamic resolution, it can run even on rx580.
But with it enabled, the game also tends to stutter.
>>399719979
Striving for holistic perfection in art is foolish, its always individual perception which is by definition masturbation. I felt Alyx being one of the least alive, while itr with its sound design felt like the most alive. There is no holistic formula for the best game in a medium
>>399720912
I was playing it on a Rift CV1, and the game held 1280x1280 in both eyes for the majority of the run. Most was on the last section where you're running away from you-know-what did it start to get a little blurry in spots, but that also had a lot of props/animated environment elements going off along with a lot of dynamic light sources.
Still completely playable.
>>399721242
>Striving for holistic perfection in art is foolish
Is it? The art itself is foolish then.
You strive for perfection and get the best that you can make.
You think someone like Michelangelo was saying "yeah, that's good enough"?
You induce soul into your art through craftsmanship.
To create something exceptional striving for perfection is really the only way.
>>399721909
Art lies in the eye of the watcher, an artist is incapable of making anybody like or dislike something, he can just get closer to what he himself considers perfection, but never reaches it

Yeah its wishful thinking category from my part. The 3k series prices dumped way less than I anticipated but I can still see gpu apocalypse happening. Maybe we gotta wait another couple months.
Maybe the 4k launches with over the top prices so nvjewia can press out every penny from the 3k stockpiles. If miners would start flooding the market with used gpus that would be great.
Found another chart its speculated to be the 3090 compared to the 4090.
>>399761014
If you think gpu mining is dead you couldn't be more wrong. eth is done, but there are others with a crypto mining industry behind worth billions of dollars that isn't just going quite into the night. As long as there is public suventioned energy, there is going to be gpu mining. Thank the socialists making it rational to waste energy on solving math puzzles.
4090 ti is going to be 2K+ if not closer to 3K, and if its having more than 30 gigs of vram, I am buying with my crypto gains
>>399762193
At the absolute best I see the 4080 and 4090 coming in at the MSRP of their last gen counterparts, that is to say, 700 and 1500 respectively. I think it's likely we'll see a slight increase though because of 'inflation' and if the GPUs are legitimately this insanely powerful, they can probably get away with it. No way the 4090 doesn't count at least several hundred dollars more than the 4080. If we go by current leaks and the 4080 comes in at around 15-16k Timespy Extreme, with the 4090 being around 19-20k, then that's around 20-25% difference. Even if you knock off a couple points cause synthetic benchmarks, there'll be a legit performance gap that's meaningful beyond just VRAM this gen. If Nvidia doesn't price the 4090 at at least 1.5x the 4080, and it'll likely be more, then there's no room for the eventual 4080 TI, remember the 4080 is the 103 die not the 102 like the 3000 series was, on price or performance. Nvidia's practically set themselves up for it because they can have a 256-bit 4080 with 16GB, a 320-bit 4080 TI with 20GB of VRAM, then the 4090 at 384-bit with 24GB of VRAM.
>>399762559
Ethereum going PoS will absolutely kneecap GPU mining and you're delusional if you think otherwise. Sure, some people will still mine, but a blow is being dealt that crypto won't recover from immediately.
>>399762920
Hashrate among obscure pow chains has been growing for half a year, nicehash like services see a significant influx, and my go to second hand hardware retailer that had a ton of used gpus last month has literally non anymore, stock gone. The majority of crypto miners don't trust pos and rightfully so and are not going to migrate
>>399762559
I never said its dead. I know the market works in cycles and the last one was extremely generous to miners which is a bummer because I got fucked out of mining due to shitty circumstances.
Becase gpu mining is a billions of dollars industry I can also see some unexpected coins to emerge and be the new stars of mining. Even if only 30-40% of eth mining migrates to other coins thats going to put a giant spotlight on them. It can happen naturally but in my opinion market manipulators will make it so thier investments will continue to make money.
Crypto winter might be here with some wild swings. We might have a 3-6-9 month window to stock up on cards before crypto mining rearrages itself. Maybe nothign will change and prices go only up. I hope not because Im planning to build back a 2-2,5-3k watt output gpu farm to milk the next cycle.
Good luck with your crypto I refused to sell at the top and fucked myself bad and now Im back to poverty region.
>>399763403
The 3-6-9 month started in May when you could get a used 3090 for about MRSP and looking at inflation and the failure of central banks attempt to influence it by attacking demand failed, nothing will change. //biz/
>>399762920
Well yeah, its nvidia se we can expect them to milk the market as much as they can. Even if msrp is going to be horror I can see some brutal miner sell off in the coming months which will eat into the 4k sales and bring the prices down. One can only hope and I will continue to do so. I wanna grab some 'cheapo' high end cards.
I never bought FE cards before and Im uncomfortable with the idea so Im going to be forced to wait anyway.
>>399763180
>and my go to second hand hardware retailer that had a ton of used gpus last month has literally non anymore, stock gone
In your humble opinion what does that mean? who buys these cards? 3k series barely dropped in price.
>>399764238
>Barely dropped in price
depends what timeframes you consider. MRSP for the 3090 was 1199, I saw used ones changing owners for 3250 in September last year and some sales listed at 1000 in June this year.
>Whose buying
people that need gpus. Gamers, vr fury fetishists, miners, graphic designers, ai engineers... Demand never really went down, the supply was just flooded briefly
>>399763938
>MSRP is now panic sale for 2 year old cards
That would be a terrible timeline. I cross my fingers and pray for longer crab market with some discount buy opportunities until late 2023.
>>399764746

>>399764668
>buying a 3090 for 3250
Imagine that kek. Ive seen 3090s for 900 on ebay a couple days ago which is pretty good, considering this is cucked europe.
Yeah thats true the demand grown a lot sicne these cards can do ai and tech workers are just growing in numbers. Ive seen some small time miners selling whole rigs on ebay but they still demand unrealistic prices. I hope market makers will scare more miners into submission and cheapo 3090 can be had but Im still eyeing the 4090s or very least the 4080. Its going to elevate VR gayming to the next level.
>>399765194
Don't get your hopes up, if you get lucky you can maybe catch a scam wick on 30x0s similar to on 10x0s when the 20x0s were released, and looking at mining, the US seems to consider using executive power to ban mining, like China did for about 30 times.
>next level VR
I hope so, but having the hardware is one thing devs need to also make games

>>399769740
>zero knowledge about how to build a pc from scratch
get a pre-build that meets your requirments.
Get it from a story that lets you tell them specifically what you need.
>>399769740
All depends on your budget. You can get almost everything for cheap except the gpu. You going to pay a lot for a decent gpu.
>>399769740
You basically want as good as you can reasonably afford. VR is computationally expensive.
>>399768535
>Didn't people say a bus speed of 256-bit it not ideal for VR, hence why a 6900xt is worse than the jewvidia options, because they have it higher? So a 4080 wont be that good?
It's not that, AMD just does not give a shit about VR compared to Nvidia, it's not exactly the bus. Nvidia's also using absurd amounts of L2 cache to make up for it. The raw bus scales slightly better at higher resolution, to where the 3080 10GB can come close to the 6900XT in a handful of things at 4k+, but the bus size alone is not what'll determine performance.
>>399727073
I'll probably get it as it's not like any other decent headsets are coming out and my Index is mostly dead. As long as it is less than the new Varjo I'm down.

>>399773323
Just look at 4k benchmarks and you'll have a good idea of what the general trend is most of the time.
>>399773425
Nnah I'm not sure about that. I think I had looked at 4k benchmarks to decide if I should get a 6900xt or not, and that was wrong. Don't we need to look at 8k benchmarks for VR due to barrel distortion the huge amount of pixels required to render an image basically? And even then looking at flat benchmarks, even at 8k, I'm not sure is telling enough.

After watching this video I've reevaluted the yesterday's cope from people about "4090 + foveated rendering would be enough for everything".
I knew it was ridiculous even for the current gen headsets, but I've decided to run the numbers for fun anyway.
It is considered common knowledge that apple targets 4k-by-4k per eye for their headset, so we might as well assume that res will become the industry standard, xr3 prototype hmd also suggests so.
Let's assume 4k means 3840 pixels. So each display would be 3840x3840, both eyes 7680x3840. Multiple both width and height by 1.4 and you get 10752x5376, which is the "native" rendering resolution compensated for distortion correction.
10752x5376 equals to 57.8 million pixels. (FYI 8k is just 33.1kk pixels)
Let's be generous and assume that with foveated rendering you will only need to render 40% of the pixels (it's not actually that simple, because graphics pipeline is not just shading pixels and most games are not really 100% efficient, but it's just napkin math so let's be optimistic). 57.8 * 0.4 = 23, which means that you still basically need to shade the equivalent of 23 million pixels. Q2 "native" is 14.8kk pixels btw.
Conclusion: The cope is dead. Basic graphics/bad perf is here to stay, even with 4090, no matter what.
On a positive side, I don't think after this jump we would be rising resolution much, so with 5090 we might have enough to start brute forcing better graphics.
Oh, and there still no good games.
That's it. Don't forget to press like and subscribe. See you later.

Vstock is the meta choice and most Pavlov esports fags use it. I recommend it for beginners when they're stuggling to aim straight but they should eventually try playing without it too. It's a choice between consistency or freedom of movement, there's less to get wrong when quickly lining up your sights but you can't do big flicks or blindfire effectively with vstock enabled. Maybe those don't matter in sweaty esports where safe and calculated plays are preferred but in public/casual chaotic games more options can mean more fun.
is there really no way to somehow connect oculus touch controllers directly to a PC? I can't find anyone whose done it online, I'd like to somehow map their gyro controls for use in flat screen FPS games; I really like the way they feel.
>>399905775
Closest I can think of is https://github.com/BOLL7708/OpenVR2Key which maps controllers to keyboard presses; probably not too much work to make it work with vjoy to emulate like an Xbox controller.

can a pc even read gyroscopic movements? isn't it like 3d and shit?

Controllers like the dualshock 4 and switch pro have gyro built in and you can map them to right stick controls with steam if you connect them to your PC

It just works smoothly... but the way they do business is disgusting.
I can support amd cpus tho. They are awesome.
>How do you just randomly owe 4200 yurobucks out of nowhere?
Its just the tip of the iceberg. Ex left and put me into a bad financial situation after I got serious health issues. Relatives died and funerals cost an arm and leg, I ignored some stuff here and there due to depression, got fired, got into an accident, injured both my wrists and since I fell out of the welfare system while I tried to recover because my 'welfare officer' is an asshole manhating roastie. Also inherited lotta lotta debt and its a burocratic nightmare to deal with it but thats a complete another story.
~4200 is just what I gotta pay right now, ~2k urgent shit in the next 6 months and write lotta requests to make lotta inherited debts with a sum of ~50k into ~15k only.
I just realized VR come a long way in the past 2-3 years and could help with my crippling loneliness in a foreign country +I couldnt care less about flat games. My old rusty 1080ti could handle some basic vr experience but I wanna see the fancy stuff. I might burn trough my savings just to do that. I am pretty frugal and havent bought anything for years but now my body wants to consoooom. Lets see what 2k gets me in a couple weeks/months. My budget might get smaller depending how my finances look but 2k probably the bare minimum for a hmd + new gpu (and maybe a cpu).

Mad about people hyping up other games because they have regular updates. Saying those games hold back and release patches for PR purposes instead of doing complete updates (lel) like he does.
We'll see 'a year of work' in the next update but I think it's a safe bet that any new features will have glaring flaws that go unaddressed for months like usual.
>>399947126
They must feel threatened as fuck by Contractors right now, because Pavlov was carried incredibly hard by the modding community, but now Contractor's has some amazing framework for mods and to make custom guns. If Pavlov loses ground in the modding community then that's it for it.
>>399947126
I just hope there's more than the update Quest got in June. If we end up waiting a year for such minor changes and an engine update that I doubt will visibly affect anything, the game is probably going to die.
>>399947645
>>399945182
Anything major that Contractors got in the past year that warrants checking it out? Modding community is fine and all (which Pavlov overly relies on), but I prefer the core game to be fun as well. I just remember hearing about its online community being dead after a couple months post-launch.
>>399947936
Depends on what you like and prefer. To be perfectly frank, I find the gunplay in Pavlov to be more satisfying than in Contractors. The TTK in Contractors is also extremely fucking low, outside the Halo mods then TTK is pretty high. The easiest way to describe the general 'pace' of the game and TTK is CoD: VR. It's very fast, very arcadey, and loadout based. The population seems to be doing fairly well lately too.
The mods are pretty cool though even with it being at an early stage. There's a few Star Wars maps with custom weapons, from guns to grenades, Halo maps which exactly capture the feel of OG Halo from the jump height and TTK, including a good chunk of custom guns. I will say though that feels like some of the guns in the modded loadouts could use with some rebalancing because the SMG > Everything at close to mid range and they take some getting used to. I still had fun though, but I'm not sure if it's because I'm still in the honeymoon phase of it being brand new and novel.
>>399947936
The last update added physics based doors, climbable objects, and collisions to weapons with each other and the environment. I still find the game to be lacking in some way, though. Maybe one day they'll fix whatever makes it feel off.
>>399948949
>and collisions to weapons with each other and the environment.
Did the game prior to the update at least have a collision check to ensure you weren't just poking your gun's tip through the wall/door and shooting from the other end of it like Payday2 allows?
>>399947936
Online is very much alive in Contractors due to Quest crossplay. Even before the mod update there were plenty of lobbies on weeknights including the 16 player groundwar games.
The core game is still shamelessly stuck in the 'CoD but in VR' box and doesn't expand on the formula in any way.
>>399949995
I think so. I didn't really try or see anyone exploiting it if it was possible. Pavlov makes a buzzing sound if you try to fire while your barrel is clipping through anything. The scopes also go black, to prevent using them to see through things which was possible for about 2 years before that change.

I've never had VR before, but a buddy gave me his oculus quest 1 since he doesn't use it anymore. He's only ever used it standalone though, but I want to use it for pc vr since my pc can handle it. Is there a list of stuff I need for that? I'm assuming I at least need some form of cable to connect to the pc and some software?
>>399995958
The charging cable it comes with is good enough for Oculus Link stuff, assuming he gave you it with the headset. Other than that, you'd have to install the Oculus PC software.
>>399995958

Thanks senpai. Yeah, it should be included I think. He said everything was still in the box along with some kind of extra thing for people who wear glasses. I haven't seen it yet though, he lives at the other side of the country so it's currently in the mail.
>>399996761
An ethernet connection to my pc is no issue, but the wifi might be a problem. We generally have pretty meh signal throughout the house, and my room is probably the worst.
>>400001035
Keep in mind the Quest 1 controllers are also a little fragile. The rings on them have a tendency to just split, which is probably one of the main reasons the Quest Pro is moving away from the ring design (finally).
>We generally have pretty meh signal throughout the house
That won't work for AirLink then. You basically need a pristine connection for it, which involves having line of sight of its antennas. I ended up just running a second router directly from my PC and the only device that uses it is my Quest 2. The good thing is Airlink doesn't require the Quest to have internet access, only just being able to locate the PC on the network.
>>400001360
Aren't they supposed to be releasing a airlink dongle for pcs, whatever happened to that?
>>400001683
Carmack mentioned it last year, and there's been prototypes, but nothing official as far as a consumer product is concerned. The problem with such a stick is the price I expect Meta to charge for it, you could probably just buy a WiFi 6 router for $20 more and be more future proofed for other devices in the process.
>>400001360
>Keep in mind the Quest 1 controllers are also a little fragile.
I'll keep that in mind. Is it just a thing that will happen eventually, or more of a "make sure you don't accidentally drop/throw them" kind of thing? I'm pretty sure I've got some wrist straps around here I can use.
>That won't work for AirLink then.
Ah well, that's a shame. Is the cabled connection/method much worse than airlink, besides the fact that you need to work around having a cable attached to you? If not I think I'd start off with that to see what's what, and look into maybe setting up a second router like you said later.
>>400002341
>Is it just a thing that will happen eventually, or more of a "make sure you don't accidentally drop/throw them" kind of thing?
Both.
>>400002341
>Is the cabled connection/method much worse than airlink, besides the fact that you need to work around having a cable attached to you?
Wired is better for latency/video quality, but after having dealt with being wired with my Rift CV1 for five years, going full wireless with the Quest 2 is the biggest upgrade I've made. That said I have the walking space to make room of wireless. If you plan on gaming mostly sitting down in a small space, wired is fine.
>>400002341
cabled is almost always better than wireless connections. Airlink has a bitrate limitation of 200 Mbps compared to link cable which goes up to 1 Gbps. In comparison VD has a limit of 150 Mbps.
if you're okay with cabled gameplay then go for it.
>>399998003
I just did. Tried fully maxed settings + 150% res. Got my 1660 Ti to run at ~33 fps until I climbed the construction tower which completely crashed my game.
so no I don't think going from 72hz medium settings to 90hz full res settings is worth the price tag of $1500.
>>400003536
same here anon. wireless has so much freedom of movements and it's nice not having to worry about getting your cables tangled on your feet.
not to mention most of my devices are wireless these days (keyboard, mouse, speaker, headset, earphones, etc)
>>399956843
The only thing worth playing in VR is simracing. MAYBE pavlov.
>>400004004
>so no I don't think going from 72hz medium settings to 90hz
I wish my brain could stomach 72hz. I can handle ASW'd 90hz fine (45fps interpolated), but a native 72hz is still too 'flickery' for lack of a better word.
>>400004397
Any reason why would you prefer 72hz?
>>399948610
I mainly play it because pavlov has fucking useless bots. If they ever at least attempted some sort of single player feature that isnt the shitty zombies mode i would be all over it. For now, Bot madness mod on contractors while playing any cod or cs maps is a blast.

Any good mod recommendations apart the obvious ones (PLANK, VRIK, HIGGS etc)?
Paradox of Hope releases in 1 day, HL2 VR mod releases in 2, Requisition in 8.
Anyone care about any of those? Besides hl2.
>>400018094
>Paradox of Hope
Releasing as early access and the demo being way too barebones I'll just wait.
>>400018094
Paradox of Hope seems like it could be really good. Demo was almost completely empty but really nice for what little there was. I wonder how much they have done.
>>400018094
Forget to add that I also played the Requisition demo and that was complete ass. Just seemed like it was barely functioning, sound was shit, animation was shit, controls didn't work. They seem like they have something in the trailer but the demo was a shit show.
>>399994982
me in the middle
>>400018094
I tested for both:
Paradox of Hope will be sorely lacking content for it's RNG raid mode. The enemies were very jank which made it feel cheap despite the atmosphere and mechanics being pretty good. I see the potential for an decent game after more dev time but I'm worried early access updates will be too slow.
Requisition was already delayed several months and I still don't think that's enough. Taping props together is a good mechanic but everything else was unsatisfying and poorly executed. Often outright broken too, it was nothing like the trailer. Somehow even the zombies felt shitty which could spell death for the game if they haven't improved them for release.
Is this shit literally fucking useless?

LATE EU VTOL IN 5ish MINUTES
>>400049268
Yeah, kinda defeats the point although I'm sure many games will run at native 90 or maybe even 120hz but that's probably not the case for exclusive titles. I thought the dynamic foveated rendering would fully alleviate the need for psvr1 level reprojection but guess not. The only reason to buy it now is if it's confirmed to have native pcvr support in which case it would be the best consumer pcvr headset but I dont think it's gonna be feasible to sell hardware at a loss and make it compatible with an open platform. The only way they could make it work is if they made their own storefront for exclusive and 3rd party licensed vr games like oculus did and extract full revenue.
>>400048378
60fps interpolated to 120hz.
>>400044078
Still better than modern Quest games being 36fps ASW'd to 72hz. I figure at worst PSVR2 games will give the performance vs. fidelity options like pancake games on that platform already do.

Onlyregen, night eye, steps, and time bubbledo anything. Everything else is cash, quite often a lot of cash. Well worth hitting up anomaly clusters in kolhoz and factory every tide when you're doing money runs. Would love for the devs to give them more effects.
What effects would you like artifacts to have if you could add them? I'd like one that repaired whatever was in your other hand so there was a way to get things out of orange condition outside of the repair bin. One that made you make less sound (at the cost of muffling all sound you can hear too) would be rad too but I'm not very creative.

the basic "gameplay" there is just exposition for the cutscenes
>>400057264
I hope they give the performance/fidelity option otherwise it'll be a letdown compared to pcvr. The Irish laddy from uploadvr was complaining about how the reprojection fucked with the perspective and looking at an object at different angles which would be a major turn off.

That would be horrid. Something like the oculus storefront would be tolerable as im sure there will be a revive equivalent made for it
>>400058213
Well, sony has been becoming more hardware centric these days. According to current trends its at least likely for them to maybe drop their vr exclusives on pc. Maybe they wont provide apis to third parties for the haptics and eye tracking so that there is an actual incentive to buy their titles.

Pavlov TTT. 75% of innocents usually huddle together bored talking while waiting for a T to just suicide bomb them. Lacks the cancer of VRC but I got bored of the gamemode for that reason, that and it taking way less tactics/skill to win as whatever role compared to gmod.
And now TTT is half the fucking server browser while there's like one or two TDM/SND games up at a time
Some VTOL questions I never got answered plus like five more. Any input is appreciated, don't need everything answered by one post
>Does leaving the master arm switch on do anything (ie make me detectable)
>Same question for ARAD
>Same question for really anything besides radar which presumably is what makes other radars able to lock on to me
>Is there any point in using ATC comms on a normal runway? Ie announcing taking off
>Any assists I should be turning off?
>Does the F-45 even have stock missions?
>Assuming not dead, at what point would I be ready for MP? I have a basic grasp on combat/shooting down planes and missiles but am bad at evasion/general metagame (and 99% of the time I get shot down it's a fucking SAM radar not a plane in missions)
This was not a good game to have a tutorial stop bothering halfway through mechanics
>>400088008
Also that said, if someone is talking to you specifically for no discernible reason just shoot them in the face because it's a T. Same with the "spell innocent backwards" morons, I don't care if they're Ts; if they're going to RDM over that and think people can't just remember it fuck them I'm not taking a chance

>>400088008
>innocents usually huddle together bored talking while waiting for a T
Not having something for the hunted to do is why TTT (and the hidden) is a shit game mode. Among Us solved this issue by making tasks for the innocents to do which both gives a time limit for the Ts and a motivation for innocents to move around the entire map constantly. Shit game or not amogus is unironically the best version of TTT to date.
>>400090770
Haven't played amogus but yeah that's the problem. Half the time you'll know someone is innocent if they're willing to play russian roulette and unlike PC I can't just easily shift to another monitor especially when the airlink dash only lets me have one screen open. For TTT/SND there also needs to be something to do while dead, like let me just go fuck off to a shooting range or at least spectate first person.
I just hate when a great game with so much potential gets neglected, the same happened with Isaac but instead it became a giant disorganized clusterfuck and nobody wants to bother reworking a lot of the newer content (how alt paths work, reaching certain bosses, deleting Beast and making the final boss/ultra horsemen not a stupid gimmick, the actual reworks promised over a year ago etc.) and then Edmund fucked off and Kil has been extremely slow with any sort of updates. Game needs an Antibirth esque quasi official mod again by now but I'm getting off topic bad
I do not want know what this camera has seen but I will happily take money for it.

There's a pub server for SnD (with several overflows) that has revive syringes. Sometimes the enemy will revive the wrong corpse so you've gotta be ready. VRMassive Super SND. And you can spectate first person. There are some sweaty comp maps that prevent you from being able to so people can't feed their living team mates info but that's just those maps.
>>400091739
I play on that server since it's usually the only one up for SND aside from maybe a 6/10 player one in fucking France or something and I wish they'd remove the syringes so shitters stop screaming for 5 minutes straight that I didn't revive them with 5 enemies shooting at me. Meanwhile when I get revived the faggot decides to take my gun first so I'm sitting there with an M19 skulking around being useless
>Sometimes the enemy will revive the wrong corpse so you've gotta be ready
And this is why I don't revive clown skins
> And you can spectate first person
How? And yeah CS did the same thing with ranked which is reasonable because ghosting is legitimately an issue especially with kids on discord.
> There are some sweaty comp maps that prevent you from being able to so people can't feed their living team mates info but that's just those maps.
Think you got that backwards, first person you're not gaining any info the spectator doesn't have, third/flying around you do. And back to CS spectating also locked you in first person if ranked
also pls gib crouch button thanks, physically crouching/kneeling IRL retarded (can't wait to see all the kids hurt themselves dropping to prone in TDM though) aside, I already have enough trouble throwing the same pistol aside six times trying to pick up any other gun
>>400091739
It's why I prefer the maps that just dump player dead players into an isolated lobby so you can just shoot the shit while waiting.

>>400092574
When you die you can fly everywhere. Grab with both grip buttons and move your arms together or apart to resize the world. You can see through walls and get a birds eye view of the whole map. If you're in a voice chat with your team you can feed them enemy position and movement easy.

>No. Turning radar off would hide you from enemy radar warning receiver but AI do not use RWR so the only use is in PvP. Enemy radars lock onto you based on your radar signature, which depends on your distance, silhoutte and how stealthy the aircraft is.
>Practically no
>I don't think so
>Only the shitty scenarios, you'll have to make do with some 'easy' missions from the workshop or dive straight into some random ones. The other aircraft have a wider range of beginner missions.

>>400088576
>>Same question for really anything besides radar which presumably is what makes other radars able to lock on to me
I can only think of one example - equipping wingmounted weapons on a F-45. Enemy radar can see those better than it can see you, so it defeats the purpose of stealth.
>>Is there any point in using ATC comms on a normal runway? Ie announcing taking off
If you have your map open, it highlights a taxi route to the active runway.

>Manual reloading damage bonus up to 50% from 35%
Holy based. That more than makes up for the damage reduction the laser sight adds. They fixed Horde mode's shitty start up too.
>Go wild with Skyrim VR modding
>meticulous tweak it too look as good as possible
>Get bored because its just Skyrim
>Now every other game looks like I got Myopia
Does anybody have a good re-shade preset for itr to make it look less blurry?
>>399862725
Do we know what the form factor will be like? The quest pro is looking pretty nice, id like to get more away from a brick hanging off your face if possible
>>400146325
>He hasn't played Enderal
>>400146725

>>400100387
Its been a while but im pretty sure it only goes into "vr" mode once you start a race
>>400136769
are the guns holstered or in your hands?
is skyrim VR with mods worth it for sexo?
and yes, i posted this in /trash/ but niggas didn't reply stuck on their gay drama
>>400150101
Depends. If you want a coomer sim, no. If you are looking to make your Skyrim experience more spicy yes. CBBE, 8K skin textures, x38 skeletons, fins, Flowergirls with quests, immersive wrenches with quests and schlongs of skyrim definitely add a lot to the game, but once you spammed 50 clones of yourself jerking it to an orgy in the Blue Palace it gets old and all I use it now is for sucking guard dick to not pay the fines
>>400150101
Yeah. Sexlab has full VR support and you can do all sorts of shit with it. Manhandling lolis is my thing thanks to full physics interactions with NPCs, but you've got every fetish and tons of mods which make the sex immersive or baked into mechanics somehow. Though like >>400155209 I play so much of the actual game at this point (Due to severe lack of worthwhile VR titles these days) that I only have sex to make screenshots to piss jannies/underage/normalfag posters in these threads off.
Mechanically my favorite sex mods are things like the ones which replace fade to black sex scenes in other quests and stuff like Amorous Adventures which is a bunch of proper quests. That and the death replacement mods are genuinely nice and more immersive than savescumming, but at this point I prefer Shadows of Skyrim as the nemesis system is fun.
>>400146921
missing out tbqh. Why you would want to play Todd's goyslop over refined German Gothic-esque quest design is beyond me, especially when the complaint is about the game being boring for being just Skyrim.
>>400163063
Nah you're right I just wanted to talk my shit.

first one off the september list
>early access
>no reviews yet
RE4 remake has been announced for PS4, being for last gen hardware means playing it with the VR mod could be somewhat feasible. Good news?
>>400178151
I'll give the game 5 years for it to properly leave EA and try it out. There are too many forever EA VR games.
How do you move firefox reality browser around?
I dont want to sit up you fricken FRICK
>>400181438
Personally, I'm waiting for the game to get a fanbase so I can say "paradox of cope"
>>400148415
I've lost both. It doesn't matter if they're holstered or in my hands.
>Official eye-tracking add-on coming to Quest 2
>Uses the USB-C port with a passthrough
>Isn't compatible with all 3rd-party headset attachments since it uses its own facial insert to get the two camera in place
Hopefully will work with Link. Guessing it's to try and make it on-par with Quest Pro for social shit, and maybe foveated rendering if the XR2 can even do that in a dynamic manner.
>>400146325
Helps a bit.

>Install openvr FSR for ITR
>Set resolution scale to 1.0 to stop upscaling
>Keep crispy openvr sharpening
I do it with pretty much every game as everything is much clearer. I hate upscaling, but sharpening in VR is great. The only exception I make is for Skyrim because ENBs handle sharpening there.
>>400192890
Only reason I feel sharpening even works for VR without looking ass, is because the final output has to be fucked with (and visually warped) to combat the chromatic aberration and bend of the lens.

>>400207025
>THAT asset pack
not even going to touch it
>>400207025
Theres not much for content in the game right now. Plus its about half janky and glitchy. Its been a minute since the last lobby tho.
>>400212817
I'm talking about GERONIMO. It'll be out by December apparently. The webms are just bait for milsim/tactical autists
>>400213637

>>400217627
Does it work with the episodes? What about mods like Entropy: Zero 2?
>>400224713
"The mod is being developed and published by the Source VR Mod Team. Despite its official-sounding name, the team is actually a collective of Valve fans working to transfer classic titles to virtual reality. The Steam page did not mention if they plan to tackle any of Half-Life 2’s DLCs or spinoffs. If the base game is a success, it’s easy to imagine other installments getting similar treatment."

I'm already an hour late but if I'm still stuck on Desert Cobra I'm gonna get assrammed in pvp (vg or otherwise), right
Is Beat Saber map making one of those things where it needs hundreds of hours, 50 programs, 200 plugins and a touch of autism to make anything passable ever? I plan on initially just stealing patterns from existing maps then editing the hell out of them/adding my own stuff to the point of it not resembling existing content which I basically do with music anyway
>>400229725
>plan on initially just stealing patterns[...]
Then usually throwing the thing out and basing a fresh map/piece etc. off the edited one
