I really think that we should have a way to reliably limit randos, in whatever way we can come up with. Maybe even make it so only people who've been confirmed to be long time 4chan lurkers with their personal home boards can join the instance. I haven't read about the details of this group feature thing yet, but if it's "dumb" or limited, I might propose the idea of using a Discord that's solely used for interviewing newcomers and deciding whether to invite or block them from the group. A "council" of individuals we already know and trust would conduct the interview and as a group decide the acceptance. The group would also decide on someone who can reliably be the guy that just does the work of setting up the VRChat group and inviting people to it. If that guy dies or something, then we can just get another guy and set up a new group.

But honestly I'm bullshitting. Shit is too much work just for some autistic gate keeping I ultimately don't care about. I have my friends already.

Newfags are important to keep a /vg/ community alive since there is always people leaving or taking breaks and if there is no new blood to fill the void there will eventually not be a lot of people left, and then the remaining people are going to start dropping off because of the lack of people. It's a tale as old as time and probably something a lot of you have experienced in other communities in the past.
That's why I'm against curated group instances. /vrg/ does not want to keep new people out, we only want to keep the wrong new people out that have nothing to do with 4chan. I don't think this is it.

I also cannot think of a single "prominent leaderfag" person that does not have biases that would lead to certain people in here being shunned just because of prior drama or other petty he said she said rumormongering.

I often find myself a bit isolated from groups outside of my own circle and have little/no people friended in instances sometimes, especially when I venture outside my own timezone. Did some very rudimentary, eyeball results testing using a JP particle stress testing world if anyone cares. (wrld_708a3c63-9d97-4edb-9343-50e15a1ad156)
I tested desktop 3700x+ 5800x3D and VR 5800X3D.
GPU is a 1070 FYI, pretty weak hence why I aimed for a low VRAM/GPU intense world.

VRC in desktop seems to never go above your screen framerate, so the max I could go was 144FPS. I there's a way to unlock this lmk.
Desktop 3700X got around ~110FPS doing nothing, and desktop 5800X3D was maxing out at 144FPS.
Spamming the most intense particle gun (red) the 3700X dropped down to around 18-22FPS where it sat as the particle limit seemed to plateau due to despawning. 5800X3D hovered around a steady 60-65 FPS, with rare dips to mid 50's and spikes to low 70s.
(The FPS I'm referencing here is displayed by a sign in the world.)

VR no particles 5800X3D FPS was hovering between 90-110, but inspecting the frametimes of ~2.5ms for CPU and ~3.1 for GPU it's a GPU limited moment.
Spamming particles with VR 5800X3D the map fps hovered around 40-45 stable. CPU average frametime was around low 7.Xms, GPU around ~5.

Gives you an idea on the capability when dealing with particles. Sorry I did no 3700X VR test, I forgot, am lazy, and figured desktop was a better performance platform anyway given my hardware

I dont make avatarfag posts very often but I will this time. If I were to run one it'd be like the discord in that I dont have to do much at all. Trustworthy individuals that I would look for in other timezones would be given something like a mod role. Ideally there would be more than one at any given time regardless of timezone. They could hand out the vrg role to anyone who is on, maybe an inviter role to given to people at the mods discretion. I was considering also just letting everyone with the normal role invite people too. In that way itd be similar to a friends+ but any randos you try to invite would be subject to the timezones mods to see if they are actually vrg.
